AN EVER EXPANDING
OFFER OF LARGE SIZE MOTORS
Now available in sizes from 50 to 250cc, the robust and proven design of these high
displacement hydraulic motors is an undisputed benchmark on the hydrostatic machines
market worldwide. It has been developed and optimized to meet the performance needs of
the most demanding sectors by combining high-density power (up to 240kW) and efficiency.
However, today, the needs of machine manufacturers are changing and new criteria are

MI250 by Poclain Hydraulics : the new high-displacement
hydraulic motor for the first time in Europe
Poclain Hydraulics is turning towards its more demanding markets with a new hydraulic
motor that has a maximum displacement of 30l. This product will satisfy its customers’
requirements for reliability and lifespan, while also coming in a reduced size.

The MI250
Performance :
The MI250 offers an efficiency rating of over 90%.
Its 30l displacement used at a maximum pressure of 350 bar (5076 PSI) enables it to
deploy a torque going up to 140 kNm (187 HP) for a power of 500 kW (671 HP). Its
reduced dimensions accentuate the available power density.
Reliability :
The technology of the MI250 is that which Poclain
Hydraulics has been using for 50 years in its radial
piston motors. This proven design allows for great
reliability and a lifespan adapted to the most
demanding applications such as grinders, industrial
machines, marine winches, drills, etc

Poclain Hydraulics is now offering a new coupling for
industrial applications – The female splined shaft
The shaft with female splines is now available on the whole range of high displacement
motors, on the MS50, the MS83, the MS125 and the MI250.
By creating the female part of this splined coupling, Poclain Hydraulics is facilitating the
adaptation of its motors to its customers’ machines and saving them from the tricky
manufacturing of splines. This simplified integration is an opportunity to reduce manufacturing
costs.
This new interface facilitates the stages of assembly and disassembly throughout the entire
lifespan of a motor, enabling significant savings in time and maintenance costs.
This new option expands the high displacement motors offer and makes it even more easily
interchangeable. Each customer will thus be able to find a solution quickly that is adapted to

THE RANGE OF MZ HYDRAULIC MOTORS
DESIGNED FOR SWING DRIVE.
Poclain Hydraulics is adding to its offer with the creation of the MZ hydraulic motor
designed to drive the swing drives of 2 to 8 ton mini-excavators.
MZ motors are distinguished by their compactness that makes them easier to build into
machines. These high torque motors also improve operator productivity, accuracy and
comfort.

THE MS05/MSE05 “HIGH FLOW” MOTOR NOW AVAILABLE
IN SYMMETRICAL 2-DISPLACEMENT
The MS05/MSE05 benefits from a new valving, the design of which has been optimized to
reduce pressure drops considerably (a 50% reduction in pressure drops has been recorded
compared to the standard MS05/MSE05 model). It has also been fitted with a closed and
more robust cover. The symmetrical 2-displacement valving now available enables all
customers to benefit from the performance of this motor in both motor rotation directions.

Thanks to its new design, the MS High Flow range can withstand the most heavy-duty of
workloads and the most extreme environmental conditions.
Maximum productivity
Thanks to their new design, the motors from the MS HIGH FLOW range can reach speeds that
are 50% higher without any additional pressure drops. As such, they can ensure better
machine productivity.
Minimum consumption
The motors from the MS HIGH FLOW range also enable a reduction in pressure drops of 50%.
They thus contribute to a reduction in the “total cost of ownership” of machines by making

And now the symmetrical 2-displacement
As it is now available in symmetrical 2-displacement, the MS05/MSE05 High Flow no longer
has a preferred rotation direction and promotes a maximum speed whatever the machine’s
direction of travel. This characteristic is particularly useful in rail/road applications for
example. This option also means that only a single reference needs to be used for the left
and right motors of a vehicle, and thus simplifies the chains of supply and assembly.

Innovations for Intermat - The electro-proportional servocontrol with feedback system now available on the PM50.
The arrival of the electro-proportional servo-control with feedback system on PM50 pumps is an
opportunity for customers to design machines that offer optimal driving comfort. Thanks to its
technology, the Q control enables an extremely accurate control of acceleration ramps, but also
eliminates any sudden jolts when accelerating or braking.
The feedback system corrects displacement variations caused by varying pressure during an
application (pressure variations in the system). The speed of the machine is thus maintained
whatever the movements and variations in pressure, which again increases its accuracy.
The user will be able to move with ease and position their machine with precision.
This control is perfectly suited to cutter-type applications, harvesting machines, finishing machines,
sweepers, etc.

Innovations for Intermat on the Medium Duty range - The
speed sensor available on the M2 and M3 high-speed motors
The speed sensor option (“SS” option) enables the delivery of a very accurate image of the
high-speed motor’s speed. This awaited option enables a better handling of the hydrostatic
transmission by allowing for a very accurate control of the travel speed of the machine
whatever the pressure in the system. The user’s comfort is thus increased.
This option will be particularly useful for compactor-type applications, electric generator drive

How it works ?
The two hydraulic motors are directly integrated onto the spindle of either a steering axle or a
fixed axle. The pump is driven by the engine Power Take-Off (PTO) and provides the energy
to the system. The hydraulic valve manages the activation of the system and allows operation
in free-wheeling mode. The Electronic Control Unit with embedded AddidDrive Software
manages communication and operating logic between the system and the vehicle.

The PWe is designed to meet all customers’ requirements, point by point. The on-board
electronic control unit gives them access to a high level of safety for their control systems.
The control software, pre-installed at the factory, contains all the necessary functions to meet
customers’ needs in the area of performance, comfort and safety. Its communication
capacities make it easy to install and it integrates seamlessly with the rest of the machineries.

The PWe’s on-board electronic control unit can withstand the harshest environments,
in¬cluding proximity to the internal combustion engine. The IP69K type electrical connections
and the factory-installed harness are tested at the end of the assem¬bly line before delivery.

Standard software features
The software package pre-installed on every PWe on-board electronic control unit provides
access to a set of features designed to enhance the comfort and safety of the machine and
individuals. They are activated on a strictly “as-needed” basis, thus removing the need for any
additional, costly software development. This helps to reduce development time and let

Operating safety
Any Off-Road machine sold on the market of the European Community must comply with
Machinery Directive 2006/42/ EC and related standards such as ISO 13849-1. The PW & PWe

Complies with the machines' safety requirements
Any Off-Road machine placed on the European Community market must meet the 2006/42/EC
directive and the associated standards such as ISO 13849-1. The new SD CT calculators provide a
high safety level for control systems. Compatible with the Level d performance level (PL-d
according to ISO 13849-1), they guarantee compliance with the standards in force.

Robustness
SD CT calculators are designed to be used in extreme conditions. Operational over a temperature
range of -40°C - +85°C, they also function in the case of immersion under a meter of water (IP67).
Their electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), certified 'E', makes them compatible with the most

Calculation power
SD CT calculators are made efficient by incorporating an electronic architecture built around a 32bit microprocessor and a 8-bit auxiliary microprocessor. They have a calculation capacity
compatible with machines’ safety, comfort and energy efficiency requirements. These technical
characteristics provide access to sophisticated software functions that guarantee efficient and
accurate control of applications.

Communication
The SD CT calculators have large communication capacities. The 3 integrated CAN buses allow to
share information (heat engine, hydraulic components, etc.), and configure and diagnose machine.
Equipped with 42 high-power inputs and 23 high-power outputs, they provide accurate control of
the hydrostatic transmission.
A high added-value offer.
The SD CT offer is accompanied by a panel of software components with all of the features required
by machines. Each customer can control all of the pumps available on the market. They also allow
to manage transmission errors and their diagnosis. But it is within a Poclain Hydraulics transmission

AddiDriveTM 4x4 hydraulic drive system:
Originally developed by Poclain Hydraulics, the AddiDrive™ system is an additional hydrostatic
transmission that enables trucks/lorries to have better mobility under difficult driving conditions
such as mud, snow and sand.
Poclain Véhicules has succeeded in adapting this hydraulic system, enabling it to offer an allwheel-drive system function, on-demand, for light commercial vehicles.
The principle of hydraulic assistance consists of installing hydraulic motors onto the rear axles of a
vehicle. A real alternative to the traditional all-wheel drive, this innovation does not add any
weight, or result in any mechanical loss at the same time as increasing, on-demand, the mobility
of a vehicle and reducing fuel consumption.

The company, Poclain Véhicules, is a subsidiary of the Poclain Hydraulics group, an
international industrial group specialised in the design, manufacturing and sale of hydrostatic
transmissions.
Previously known under the name FAM Automobiles, Poclain Véhicules acts as a partner and
sub-contractor in vehicle conversion, the sale of integration kits, and the manufacturing of
specialist vehicles.
Vehicle conversion:
The activity of vehicle conversion represents the core business of Poclain Véhicules,
particularly its Mechanical Traction Control™, a system developed and sold under the FAM
Automobiles brand to meet the specific requirements of all-road vehicles.
Mechanical Traction Control™:
This is a simple conversion solution that can be made to 4x2 production vehicles that provides
exceptional handling abilities to all-road and even light off-road vehicles, thus positioning
itself as a real alternative to 4x4 vehicles. This conversion, not requiring re-registration, has
been validated by original manufacturers.
What exactly does this conversion involve?
The vehicle remains a 2-wheel drive and benefits from:
• A limited slip differential:
The gearbox is modified by replacing its original differential. The vehicle is
fitted with a limited slip differential comprising a torque transfer device based
on the friction of the discs in an alternating arrangement. When a wheel loses
traction, the new differential allows 25% of the power and torque to be
transferred to another wheel.

• A specific lower under engine and under body protection:
When moving over particularly rough terrain where handling limits are reached,
the under-chassis shielding ensures the necessary protection.
This latter is composed of a steel “ski” underneath for the engine and two lateral
protections for the brake and fuel systems.

“M+S” - mixed mud/snow-type tyres that provide the vehicle with better
traction whatever the type of terrain, from standard to off-road handling.
• Increased ground clearance:
The vehicle is raised and so can access difficult terrains and
cross obstacles.
Since the year 2000 over 50,000 vehicles have been fitted
with MTCTM System (Mechanical Traction Control). Less
onerous than the 4x4 technology and above all adaptable
to the smaller vehicles used by the authorities, MTCTM
System (Mechanical Traction Control) enables a new and
reliable solution with proven effectiveness to be offered to
its customers.
Indeed it is used just as much by individuals as by
corporations like the Gendarmerie, EDF-GDF, La Poste, the
French Water a nd Forest departments, the French fire
service, NGOs such as Médecins sans Frontières or even
private company fleets.

equipment for its thirtieth anniversary, namely POCLAIN.
