GREETINGS
from the Concorso Ferrari & Friends Organizing Committee!
2016 S P O N S O R S H I P L E V E L S
Founded in 2001, Concorso Ferrari and Friends is the signature automobile event
for Connecticut Children’s Medical Center and Southern New England. It celebrates
all makes and models of Italian automobiles – from vintage Alfa Romeos, Fiats and
Lamborghinis to the Supercars of Ferrari, Pagani and Maserati.
Concorso Ferrari & Friends was created by a group of owners who wanted to use
their autos to bring smiles to the faces of patients while raising awareness and critical
funding for Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. What once was a small gathering
of friends has now grown into one of the most popular and highly attended events in
Greater Hartford – raising more than $100,000 for the Medical Center and welcoming
more than 10,000 spectators and 175 autos in just a single day.
The festivities kick off with the “Parade of Kids”. 40 drivers are paired with a patient
from Connecticut Children’s for the exhilarating experience of taking an escorted
ride into the heart of downtown West Hartford, Connecticut. Upon reaching their
destination, they are greeted by the cheers of thousands of spectators.
Sponsors, car owners and spectators can visit the unique shops and restaurants on
LaSalle Road while viewing the wide array of autos, shopping at one of the many
street vendors and listening to the music and driver interviews featured throughout
the day. A truly enjoyable and memorable day for all.
Sponsorship of Concorso Ferrari & Friends provides you with an opportunity to
engage registered drivers and spectators through a number of marketing initiatives:
name recognition, brand exposure and marketing opportunities within the activities
of the day. In addition, pre and post event publicity creates more than 500,000
impressions and includes a wide array of coverage (internet, social media, public
relations and printed materials).
On behalf of everyone associated with Concorso Ferrari & Friends – we appreciate
your support and very much look forward to seeing you at the show!
Sincerely,
The Concorso Ferrari & Friends Organizing Committee

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT OF SURGERY
Connecticut Children’s Medical Center is one of the fastest
growing children’s hospitals in the Northeast and the region’s
leading provider of pediatric surgical care. From tonsillectomies
to neurosurgery, subspecialists in the Department of Surgery
perform more than 10,000 general and complex surgical procedures
annually. The Department provides the highest level of care across
an array of specialties, including General Surgery, Cardiovascular
Surgery, Orthopaedic Surgery and more.
Connecticut Children’s was the first hospital in the state to perform
robotic surgery on a child, when Concorso Ferrari and other key
institutions made significant philanthropic investments to help the
Medical Center purchase its very first robotic system. With the
recent acquisition of the da Vinci Robot Xi, the most advanced
robotic surgical system available, surgeons will be able to perform
minimally invasive procedures more quickly and with pinpoint
accuracy, resulting in less pain, smaller scars and faster recovery
times for patients.
While the new da Vinci technology offers many benefits, like 3-D
high-definition visualization and single-site entry, it also has many
add-on features that will benefit patient care. The da Vinci Skills
Simulator contains a variety of exercises and scenarios that will give
surgeons the opportunity to improve their proficiency using the new
da Vinci robot. At a cost of $85,000, this portable device turns the
da Vinci system into a novel practice platform that can be used in or
outside of the operating room.
Support from the 2016 Concorso Ferrari and Friends will enable
Connecticut Children’s to invest in this new technology, advancing
robotic surgical care for pediatric patients.
