Who should consider using a protein supplement?
Anyone and everyone! Growing children (not infants), teens and
young adults and others who are active and/or involved in
athletics. Protein supplements can be beneficial as well for
pregnant and nursing mothers, older people whose diets often
lack sufficient protein, people on weight-loss or low-fat diets, and
lacto-vegetarians.
Is NUTRILITE Protein Drink Mix (Mixed Berries Flavour) good
for children?
NUTRILITE Protein Drink Mix (Mixed Berries Flavour) is a great
tasting protein drink for children. It is lower in sugar than other
beverages, does not contain artificial colours and lactose (to
ensure it is easy on the digestive system) and it comes with the
benefits of NUTRILITE concentrates. It is not only good for children,
but adults too.
TM
Do you add isoflavones to NUTRILITE Protein Drink Mix (Mixed
Berries Flavour)?
No, the isoflavones are naturally occurring.
Q&A
What are isoflavones?
Isoflavones are phytonutrients found naturally in plants. Soybeans
are the major source of the naturally occurring isoflavones
genistein and daidzein. Recent human clinical research suggests
that isoflavones are among the bioactive compounds that work in
conjunction with soy protein to lower blood cholesterol. The
isolated soy protein in NUTRILITE Protein Drink Mix (Mixed Berries
Flavour) contains naturally occurring isoflavones.
Is there any downside in the consumption of soy protein?
No, there is no downside to consuming soy protein and we have
centuries of human experience to draw from. Soy is one of the
oldest foods known to man, and has been a staple in Asian diets
for centuries. In fact, soy is a complete protein, equal in quality to
meat, milk and egg protein.
What are the features of NUTRILITE Protein Drink Mix (Mixed
Berries Flavour)?
NUTRILITE Protein Drink Mix (Mixed Berries Flavour) contains 8g of
protein with balanced amino acid, 250mg of calcium, 20mg of
vitamin C, mixed with berry flavour and is tested safe for the
growth and development of children.
Are there any instances of people being allergic to soy?
Soy protein does not pose any unusual risks of allergenic
responses. There are, of course, certain people who may be
allergic to soy. Soy allergy is reported at only approximately
0.5 per cent incidence in the adult population.
Is it true that soy protein affects the absorption of minerals
like iron?
The FDA has taken the position that available data provides no
evidence linking iron availability from soy and soy protein products
to health problems in any segment of the population. The United
States Department of Agriculture additionally concluded that a
diet containing soy protein does not significantly change (and may
actually improve) blood iron levels.
How do we benefit from the high calcium content of NUTRILITE
Protein Drink Mix (Mixed Berries Flavour)?
NUTRILITE Protein Drink Mix (Mixed Berries Flavour) provides 250mg
of calcium per serving to help in forming the healthy bones and
teeth for growing and developing children.
Can NUTRILITE Protein Drink Mix (Mixed Berries Flavour) be
mixed easily with water?
Yes, Nutrilite uses the latest soy technology in producing NUTRILITE
Protein Drink Mix (Mixed Berries Flavour) that mixes instantly in
water.
Why is vitamin C added in NUTRILITE Protein Drink Mix (Mixed
Berries Flavour)?
NUTRILITE Protein Drink Mix (Mixed Berries Flavour) is added with
15mg of vitamin C per serving because vitamin C is a nutrient that
supports healthy skin and mucous membranes, and it is also an
antioxidising nutrient.

Build your future with a solid
foundation now!
Protein is a macronutrient that makes up approximately 20% of our body
weight. The basic building blocks of protein are amino acids. The human
body needs about 22 types of amino acids, out of these 13 can be
manufactured by the body. These are known as ‘non-essential’ amino
acids because it is not necessary for us to obtain them from our food.
The other 9 amino acids are called “essential amino acids” and can only
be obtained from what we eat as our body cannot make them.
The quality and quantity of amino acids we obtain from protein-rich
foods will vary. Preferred protein sources include fish, seafood, poultry,
lean meat, egg white, skim milk, legumes, whole grains and other soy
products. Liver, whole eggs, whole milk, nuts and most cheeses are also
rich in protein, but we should not eat too much of these.
Benchmarking Information
The World Health Organization (WHO) has established a new method of
evaluating protein quality which helps clarify the real value of soy
proteins. The new evaluation method is called the Protein Digestibility
Corrected Amino Acid Score (PDCAAS). It takes into account the amino
acid of the protein, plus a rating of its digestibility by humans. Using this
method, NUTRILITE Protein scores 1.00 (the highest possible PDCAAS
scores).
Q&A
Why doesn’t NUTRILITE Protein dissolve completely even after
stirring rapidly?
NUTRILITE Protein has been tested against many competitive protein
powders. In every case NUTRILITE Protein went into solution faster than
any of them and remains in the solution better. Still, there will be some
suspended particles that don’t dissolve. It’s just the nature of the
material. It’s like the pulp in orange juice.
How old must a baby be before it can take NUTRILITE Protein?
A baby should be at least one year old before consuming NUTRILITE
Protein. In very young children, it is best to limit NUTRILITE Protein to one
serving per day. A baby doesn’t need additional protein while breast
feeding because it gets plenty of protein from mother’s milk. If a child
gets too much protein at a very early age, there’s a possibility of
overloading the kidneys and causing dehydration. Toddlers who have
weaned themselves off milk or are fussy eaters can benefit from
supplementing their diet with NUTRILITE Protein by mixing it in their food
such as cereals, food drinks, soups or stews.
Can NUTRILITE Protein be taken daily even if we take plenty of meat
and eggs daily?
Yes. It all depends on how much protein you want in your diet.
However, health authorities strongly recommend cutting back on foods
high in saturated fats, e.g. red meat, eggs or dairy products. NUTRILITE
Protein is one way of getting the benefit of high-quality proteins low in
cholesterol, fats and calories. In other words, substitute NUTRILITE
Protein for meat and eggs in your diet.
