Dolores Fitterer - Stevenson Funeral Home

Dolores Fitterer
was born November 19, 1935
in Mandan, ND, the daughter of Jacob M. and Emma
(Lohstreter) Hertz. She attended St. Joseph’s Elementary
School and Mandan High School, graduating in 1953. After
graduation she worked as a stenographer for McDonald and
Froelich in Mandan. Dolores married Arthur Fitterer on
June 18, 1956 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Mandan.
They lived on their dairy and cattle farm southeast of
Glen Ullin until retiring in 1997. They moved into Glen
Ullin in 2004. Dolores and Arthur were blessed with four
children: Cynthia, Mark, Renee and Timothy. Dolores was
a dedicated farmwife and mother. She was a member of the
Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed doing ceramics
and crossword puzzles, sewing, quilting, and embroidering
dishtowels. Dolores is survived by her husband, Arthur; two
sons, Mark (Stacy) of Glen Ullin and Tim (Lollie Gabel)
of Dickinson; two daughters, Cindy Wilson (Kevin Shuck)
of Fergus Falls, MN and Renee (Roy) Seibel of Bismarck;
grandchildren, Ashley (Elliot) Sikora of Chaska, MN, Bruce
Wilson of Barrett, MN, Lindsay (Danny) Brummer, Steven
(Jen) Schlenker, Stacie Seibel, Stephanie (Chad) Alyea,
Shantel (Evan) Hellman, all of Bismarck, Levi (Vanessa)
Hoff and Landon (Janessa Bonnell) Hoff of Glen Ullin;
great-grandchildren, Brandon and Alexis Seibel, and Emmy
and Ari Sikora; one sister, Lois Peterson of Bismarck; and
two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Hertz of Mandan and Lois
Hertz of Boynton Beach, FL. She was preceded in death
by her parents, Emma and Jacob; step-father, John Dieter;
brothers, Robert, Donald, Raymond and Jacob; sistersin-law, Margaret Hertz, Vivian Hertz, Marian Hertz and
Jeannie Hertz; brothers-in-law, John Stenslie and John
Peterson; and grandson, David Fitterer. In lieu of flowers,
the family suggest memorials be made to: Alzheimer’s
Association, Minnesota, North Dakota, 7900 W 78th St,
Ste 100, Minneapolis, MN 55439

God saw she was getting tired
And a cure was not to be,
So He put His arms around her

With tearful eyes we watched her suffer
And saw her fade away,
Although we loved her dearly
We could not make her stay.
A golden heart stopped beating
Hard working hands to rest,
God broke our hearts to prove to us
