The European tyre label tests tyres for
rolling resistance, grip on wet surfaces
and exterior noise levels. Based on
three aspects, the label provides further
information on the characteristics of the
tyre.
ROLLING RESISTANCE /
FUEL EFFICIENCY
Lower rolling resistance saves fuel. The
values A to G indicate the effect on fuel
consumption from low to high. Class D
is not used.
GRIP ON WET ROADS /
BRAKING PERFORMANCE
In the category 'grip on a wet road
surface', the classification A to G
indicates the relative braking distance
from short to long on a wet road
surface. Classes D and G are not used.
EXTERIOR NOISE LEVEL
The exterior noise level is measured in
dB, divided into three classes. Lownoise tyres produce less noise pollution
for the environment. NB: External noise
does not fully correlate with the interior
noise of the vehicle.
