This parade is one event in Bremerton that is open for total community involvement. Regardless of race, creed or color, everyone has just that wee bit of Irish that comes out in full spirit, whether you’re a dyed-in-thewool Irish person or just Irish-for-the-day, this is one event you won’t want to miss. Parade starts the celebration activities and ends on 4th Street for Irish festivities. Visit www.bremertondowntown.org for more info. 3rd ANNUAL SPRING FAIR Friday, April 8 11:30AM-3:30PM Sheridan Park Community Center Join our AmeriCorps team and Bremerton Parks and Recreation for lots of family fun on Friday, April 8 (last day of spring break). We’ll have everything you would expect at a fair; hotdogs, popcorn, cotton candy and carnival games, plus more. You will need a valid credit card to register online. LILLIAN AND JAMES WALKER PARK PROJECT Pay by credit card and bring your receipt to the first day of class. NOTE: There is a small convenience fee to register over the internet. Funded by a Department of Ecology grant, the City purchased this .62 acre waterfront parcel to serve dual-use as both a stormwater Low Impact Development (L.I.D.) demonstration site and beach access for the Anderson Cove neighborhood. Currently under construction and due to be complete in November, the passive recreation features funded by a $170k Community Development Block Grant will include lawn area, walking path, landscaping, irrigation, beach access, and boulders and logs to compliment the waterfront surroundings and double as seating and informal play features. The site is named for Bremerton civil rights pioneers Lillian and James Walker. IN-PERSON Visit our site-specific offices during business hours. FACILITY, PARK AND SHELTER RENTAL •Register as soon as possible, as activities may be canceled should the minimum enrollment not be met 3 days prior to the first class. Enrollment is on a first come, first served basis. Reservations for rooms and facilities at the Sheridan Park Community Center and the Bremerton Senior Center are made through staff at each facility during regular operating hours. Reservations are taken on a first come, first served basis with Parks & Recreation programs taking priority. Park and shelter reservations are made on a first come first served basis by contacting the main Parks & Recreation office. A permit is required to reserve an athletic field, shelter or to use a park or portion of a park for larger group gatherings. Use permits allow Bremerton Parks & Recreation to prevent conflicts, make necessary preparations, prepare facilities and to avoid over use. The site features two 18-hole championship golf courses, four practice putting greens, a 70-yard chipping area, two bunker practice areas, a 100-yard wide natural grass practice tee/driving range, a private covered teaching studio, and a 10,000 square foot Clubhouse. (West side of the Evergreen Rotary Park on the corner of Park St. and Park Ave.) The Bremerton Farmers Market features vendors who sell homegrown foods, handmade products, art and quality food items, while creating an inviting atmosphere for all. Plant starts and art are abundant in the beginning of the season, with products and flowers starting to come through in June and extending through mid-October. The Market is looking for farmers, artisans, musicians and sponsors. The Restaurant at Gold Mountain provides spectacular views of the Olympic Course. Adjacent is the Olympic Pavilion which provides a spacious banquet room ideal for weddings and special events. Registrations are first come, first served and can be made by calling the Center using your credit card or by visiting the center in person. Trips are extremely popular and fill quickly, so reserve your spot today! If a trip is full, our staff will gladly place you on the waiting list. Vans are our preferred method of travel.
