The Los Angeles Union Station
The Los Angeles Union Station One of Los Angeles’ most recognizable landmarks, the Union Station is a Spanish revival and art deco masterpiece built in 1939, often used for film shoots and elegant private events. Much of the station was closed to the public in the 1960s, reserving some of its most spectacular spaces for private parties. Wow your guests with an atmosphere they would never experience otherwise. Outside to the right of the main terminal is the formal garden in the courtyard. Its lofty archways, swaying palms, manicured hedges, and the romantic clock tower serve as the back drop for your reception or ceremony. To the side of the gardens through large glass doors, closed the public, is the iconic Fred Harvey Restaurant. This was part of the famous railroad- sponsored restaurant chain, forever remembered in the Hollywood musical The Harvey Girls with Judy Garland. Lawry’s The Prime Rib’s server gowns are inspired by these same Harvey girls’ uniforms and are still seen in our Beverly Hills dining room today. Bring an element of historic fantasy to your event at Union Station, possible only with Lawry’s The Prime Rib. A stunning tile floor design patterned after a Navajo rug with art deco styling dazzles the eye. Its colors, shapes and patterns are artfully repeated on the walls, light fixtures, and painted on the high ceiling beams lending a very hip and retro vibe to the space. Circular leather booths line the restaurant walls and a large horseshoe-shaped bar the center of the room is ideal for a hors d’oeuvres, buffet or cake cutting. Ascend the winding and photo-worthy staircase to find the brass-railed balcony overlooking the restaurant, the perfect spot for your band or DJ. To the side of the room, a secondary copper-plated bar serves as your cocktail lounge. The facility can accommodate up to 500 seated guests indoors and 350 seated guests outdoors.
