Feeling Stressed? You Might Try Boxing
Boxing can burn up to 900 calories an hour… the sport has long been co-ed. But increasingly women are
putting on the gloves to release tension. Within three to six months clients can lose as much as 10 pounds.
They have increased flexibility, better balance and most of all… less stress. Boxing also boosts stamina and
confidence.
Ali + Hammond Gym
Dennis Hardesty has worked hard to bring boxing and tutoring to his hometown of Hammond, Indiana. And
now WBC Cares the Ali Center is there with him, helping out.

Carlos Cuadras and friend
“It is an honor for the WBC to have champions with such a big heart Carlos Cuadras and Gilberto "Zurdo"
Ramirez invested their time, even with their busy agends, in teaching girls how to box. Twenty nine girls from
7 to 14 years old were encouraged to include boxing as a sport in their lives . Happiness was all around while
the demo was taking place. It was a memorable moment for everyone, absolutely priceless!!“

Dear World Boxing Council,
I wanted to take a moment to extend my most sincere
“THANKS” to the World Boxing Council,
Mr. Jose Sulaiman, Mauricio Sulaiman, Jill Diamond
and its governing committees for choosing me for the
ambassador of the WBC cares. You have no idea how
happy I was when I received notification that I was
selected for this. It was such a surprise. Also, It is so
wonderful that we are able to host an award lunch. It
is a great opportunity for me, and I’m sure the
collaborative of organization that partner with us
and the kids will benefit from the awards that they
will be receiving. If you would, please extend my
thanks to all the WBC member who made the awards
possible. I hope that someday I will be able to be as
generous as the World Boxing Council.
Gratefully,
Aaron Snowell, (Trainer Of Champions)
Jamie Moore Honored

event at Northampton Town Football Club, on behalf
of the WBC we were delighted to present Jamie

Jamie is a patron for the local charity, Niamh's Next
Step which was founded by Niamh's father Chris
Curry. Niamh sadly lost her battle to Neuroblastoma
on Sunday 20th May 2012. Jamie supports the
Charity to raise awareness and help others affected by
this devastating illness. Niahm's father Chris Curry
and Sports frame Director Adam Gascoigne are
pictured with Jamie in the photo. Also in attendance
was fellow WBC Ambassador John H Stracey. Jamie
was truely humbled by the WBC's very kind gesture
to present him with the award and is committed to
support the charity and the WBC's work in the
community in the Me future.:” submitted by: David

On May 6, 2013, Native American boxing champion
"Comanche Boy" George Tahdooahnippah was the
guest speaker at the Okemah High School, in
Okemah, OK for the Johnson O'Malley student
program. In his message to students and the
community,
Tahdooahnippah
stressed
the
importance of completing education, and armed with
that knowledge, to be persistent in achieving their
goals and dreams. "It's always an honor to be a guest
speaker and share my story," Tahdooahnippah said.
"I'm a small town boy with hopes and dreams like
many of these young students. They need to keep
chasing their dreams." Tahdooahnippah's next
speaking engagement will be in Hollywood, Florida
on May 15, 2013, where he will address members of
the Seminole Tribe, in an effort to further encourage

“The Mauricio Saravia Award”
Department of Chicano/Studies of Metro State
University. “The Mauricio Saravia Award” which is
given to someone who knows, “We can influence the
world around them by finding compassion and
kindness towards all living beings in our own heart.”
Through 27 years of coaching and the work with the
“WBC Cares, Big Champions Supporting Little
Champions” they say I have brought positivity into
the lives of so many. The diversity of those that I
have helped is expansive. I have opened my heart to
those that have had lofty goals and those that have
had small goals. Through the disciple and training of
boxing they all have learned that no matter what
comes before you in life you never quit and you keep
giving it your all and leave your mark that win or lose
you gave it your all and to the best of your abilities!”
