•Mershield StayClear acts as a
protective coating which, when
applied to glass, helps the glass to
MERSHIELD
remain shiny and new without the STAYCLEAR
need for tiresome cleaning. When
cleaned regularly, it helps prevent
the build up of limescale and soap deposits
making the shower glass “Easy to Clean”.

enclosure. The options available have been
specifically designed to offer flexibility to suit
any size and shape of bathroom.
Surveying and Installation
At Merlyn Showering we pride ourselves on the quality of our products.
We understand that creating your
dream showering enclosure can be
difficult, especially when dealing with
awkward spaces. This is why we are
offering a full survey and installation
service, providing you with complete
peace of mind.
Survey
& installation
service
Merlyn Showering have a team of highly
skilled and experienced professionals
who are trained to survey walls and
floors for varying slopes and angles,
look for ‘out of true’ walls and to assess
that your choice of enclosure and positioning is suitable.
Furthermore, once your dream enclosure is designed and delivered, if you
wish, they will return to install it, ensuring
complete satisfaction. Installation will
only take place if we have carried out
the home survey and measure. All you
need to do is fit your tiles and tray (install
100% level within 3mm) before the
survey can take place.

Merlyn Showering treats every product in our
Glass by Merlyn range with a special protective
coating to ensure the glass maintains its sparkle.
This comes as standard as part of our on-going
commitment to service.
The Mershield acts as a protective coating which when applied to glass, helps
the glass to remain shiny and new without the need for tiresome cleaning. When
cleaned correctly it helps prevent the build up of limescale and soap deposits
making the shower glass “Easy to Clean”. Please see tips for keeping the glass

With Mershield StayClear
Protective Coating
Without Mershield protection water and
soap deposits cling to the glass surface
causing a build up of grime, requiring more
vigorous cleaning.
The Mershield StayClear coating provides
a larger contact angle for the water
droplet on the surface and makes the
drops smaller than drops falling on an
untreated surface. This ensures the
droplets roll away much faster down the
surface minimising deposits left behind.
• It is important to clean your glass after every use - wipe down with a soft cloth.
• Install the enclosure in a well ventilated area.
•Do not allow limescale to build up in hard water areas.
• Ensure that any residual water on the glass is removed after every use.
• Clean the glass regularly using soapy water.
• DO NOT use abrasive products on any surfaces.

Merlyn offer an expert service in UV Bonding - a
technique which is applied where glass meets glass.
Two pieces of glass are bonded together using
a specialist UV technology and the result is a
clear bond that is stronger than the glass itself resulting in optically clear, perfect joints every time.
Glass by Merlyn have a team of highly trained
professionals in this technology and this process
will be done in situ by our expert installers. Due
to the scale of the height and weight of these
enclosures, we are one of the few companies
who can carry out this process on site.

The benefit of this high tech process is that it
gives your shower enclosure a seamless look
and feel, free from corner brackets.
UV bonding can be used on Standard, Satin,
Opti-White and Smoked Black glass. Please
specify when ordering if you require UV Bonding.

Trays
The MStone double skin stone resin tray is
sleek and sophisticated in design. A highly
engineered polymer composite tray utilising
twin acrylic capped mouldings to sandwich a
layer of stone resin into a uniform structure, thus
providing a high degree of rigidity and strength
combined with a relatively low weight.
MStone trays are ideal for ‘low
level’ installation. Alternatively
you can raise your tray to allow
room for the pipe work if you
cannot run your waste under
the floor. In such cases you will
need the MStone shower tray

MStone panel kits are available

Although shower door and enclosure sizes are related to tray sizes it is
important to note that most shower trays are tiled down to the rim, often
over an “up-stand”. The finished installation space may be less than the
nominal tray size. Glass by Merlyn shower enclosures are made to suit this

Important Shower Tray Information
Cleaning
CE and EN Information
Tray finish Min-Max
The tray finish applies when fitting a door and a tray. These are
the minimum and maximum dimensions that a shower door or
enclosure will fit using standard wall profiles.
To find the correct Tray Finish dimension:
In a Recess Measure from the finished tiled wall to the
opposite finished tiled wall – top, middle
and bottom – please see diagram 1.
In a Corner
Measure from the finished tiled wall to the
edge of the tray - please see diagram 2.
Note If the wall/walls are leaning in/out,
this will further reduce your tray finish.
Please see diagram 3 below.
Adjustment
This is the min and max adjustment of the actual enclosure. These
are the adjustment dimensions of the actual door excluding the tray.
Therefore, these are the dimensions to follow when installing an
enclosure in a wet room application without a tray.
•It is important to clean your Merlyn shower door after every use.
Merlyn invests heavily in its product development and as such
guarantees that its glass fully complies with regulations and is
manufactured in accordance with BS EN 14428. The rigorous
testing of the glass ensures that the endurance, stability and water
retention criteria meet high industry standards.
N.B Take the measurements after the tray is installed
and the walls are tiled.
•Wipe down all the glass and metal parts with a soft cloth.
•Do not allow lime scale to build up in hard water areas.
•Ensure that any residual water on the glass is removed
after every use.
•Clean the glass regularly using soapy water.
•Do not use abrasive products on any surfaces.

Always read the instructions on the packaging, chrome is
vulnerable to acid attack and some strong household cleaners
including strong disinfectants, denture cleaners, hair dyes, wine
making chemicals and photographic chemicals may contain
acid. These materials may have a varying effect on the surface
from black spots/streaks (which cannot be removed) to pitting the
surface. Contact with these materials should be avoided.
