The conference consists of 15 member institutions located throughout the Northeast in the states of Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, and Vermont. The institutions that make up the Northeast-10 include Adelphi University (Garden City, N.Y.), American International College (Springfield, Mass.), Assumption College (Worcester, Mass.), Bentley University (Waltham, Mass.), Franklin Pierce University (Rindge, N.H.), Le Moyne College (Syracuse, N.Y.), Merrimack College (North Andover, Mass.), University of New Haven (West Haven, Conn.), Pace University (Pleasantville, N.Y.), Saint Anselm College (Manchester, N.H.), Saint Michael’s College (Colchester, Vt.), The College of Saint Rose (Albany, N.Y.), Southern Connecticut State University (New Haven, Conn.), Southern New Hampshire University (Manchester, N.H.), and Stonehill College (Easton, Mass.). The 15 member institutions are spread geographically from Syracuse, N.Y. to Waltham, Mass. and Colchester, Vt. to Garden City, N.Y. women’s basketball, women’s cross country, field hockey, men’s lacrosse, women’s lacrosse, men’s soccer, women’s soccer, women’s track and field, and men’s and women’s swimming and diving. In all, 80 different Northeast-10 Conference teams were selected to participate in NCAA Championship play during the 2012-13 academic year. The 80 programs represented 15 of the 16 conference institutions. From the field of play to inside the classroom, the Northeast-10 honored a number of studentathletes for their academic accomplishments. Over 50 percent of all conference student-athletes earned a 3.0 GPA throughout the 2012-13 academic year and were named to the Commissioner’s Honor Roll as a result. Today’s Northeast-10 Conference remains focused on complementing the academic integrity and missions of its member institutions with a commitment to a broad-based championship program, as evidenced by the 23 sports the conference offers in championship play, the most such of any Division II conference. Many of the members are located in or around the metropolitan areas of Albany, Boston, Manchester, New Haven, Worcester, and New York City. The conference was proud to welcome the New Haven and Adelphi in its latest expansion, adding to the powerful union of strong academic and athletic institutions. Through the establishment and enforcement of regulations, the conference aims to encourage policies that enable intercollegiate athletics programs to contribute to and be considered an integral part of the total educational offerings at our member institutions. The Northeast-10 can look to a long history of success including the growth from seven original member institutions to more than The Northeast-10 has evolved into a memberdouble its size 30 years later, the contention for ship committed to competitive athletics programs and winning of multiple national championships, that emphasize the education, both on and off the and the recognition of student-athlete performancfield, of more than 6,000 student athletes. Since the first nod in 1953, up until the present season, the Brown and Gold has continued to place player after player into the history books. The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) is an organization comprised of member colleges and universities which sponsor intercollegiate lacrosse for men. The Association is entrusted to enhance and develop intercollegiate lacrosse by providing leadership, management, and services to its membership so that student-athletes, coaches, and other constituent groups will realize the maximum benefit from the sport of lacrosse. 1968 1972 1974 1975 1976 1978 1978 1979 1979 1979 1980 1980 1980 1981 1981 1981 1981 1981 1981 1993 1993 1993 1993 1993 1994 1994 1994 1996 1996 1996 1997 1997 1997 1998 1998 1998 1998 1999 1999 1999 1999 1999 2000 2000 2001 2001 2002 2002 2002 2003 2005 2005 2006 2008 2008 2011 2012 2013 2013 First Team Larry Karwoski Bruce Meierdiercks Kirk Jurgelevich Kirk Jurgelevich Hal McVey Scott Grubert Bob Engelke Bob Engelke Scott Grubert Joe Kovar Ed Hughes Dave Leistman Ed Menegaux Ed Hughes Ken King Dave Leistman Kevin Meinsen Ed Menegaux Tom Rotanz John Calabria Rich Mastanduno Jim Murray Gary Reh Andy Seal Gary Reh Gary Reh Tom Reillt Rob Grella Shawn Hennessy Matt Schomberg Charlie Flaherty Rob Grella Rich Grismer Dan Debetta Charlie Flaherty Mark Mangan Anthony Piccone Brian Tower James Miceli Chris Babb Dan Debetta Greg Kulesa Brian Tower Scott Renneisen Mike McInerey Fred Trifao Tyler Heavenor Brian Hahn David Toy David Toy Frank Canizio Wesley Green Wesley Green Jesse Corben Eddie Ege Joe Vitale Joe Vitale Kevin Kennedy Joe Celano Second Team 1972 Terry Wallace 1973 Kirk Jurgelevich 1974 Bob Esposito 1975 Bob Ricciardi 1976 Bob Riccardi 1977 John Gavigan 1977 Ted Koziarz 1978 Joe Chiofolo 1979 Joe Chiofolo 1980 Tom Rotanz 1982 Steve Shelley 1989 Gordon Purdie 1989 Mike Roman 1995 Gary Cegielski 1995 Rich Grismer 1996 Peter Friedman 1996 Rich Grismer 1996 Keith Lohmuller 1997 Anthony Picone 1997 Keith Lohmuller 1997 Mark Mangan 1998 Greg Kulesa 1998 Marc Reeves 1999 Anthony Saccone 1999 Rich Vislocky 1999 Mark Reeve 2001 Brian Soper 2001 Brian Tower 2001 David Toy 2003 Tyler Heavenor 2007 Michael Gongas 2011 Danny Blau 2011 Daniel Gill 2011 Eric Janssen 2012 Jeff Melsopp 2012 Kevin Kennedy 2013 Greg Puskuldjian 2013 Jeff Melsopp 1956 1962 1966 1971 1973 1974 1975 1976 1977 1982 1985 1986 1987 1988 1989 1990 Third Team Dave Finkel Joe Morin Don Robertson Terry Wallace Chuck Arnone Chuck Arnone Larry Opisso Tom Maksym Scott Grubert Kevin Meinsen Todd Lawson Frank Tashman Gary Blohm Gordon Purdie Jeff Reh Jeff Reh Gary Reh Jeff Reh Wesley Green Don Kohart Ken King By the Numbers Michael Gongas First Team - 59 Second Team - 38 Third Team - 16 Honorable Mention - 52 Total - 165 First Year Receiving Recognition - 1953, Don Kohart First First-Team Recognition - 1968, Larry Karwoski Honorable Mention 1953 1954 1957 1957 1957 1959 1961 1962 1965 1965 1965 1967 1967 1970 1972 1972 1973 1976 1977 1978 1979 1980 1982 1982 1983 1983 1985 1986 1987 1987 1987 1990 1993 1993 1995 1995 1995 1997 1997 1998 2000 2000 2002 2002 2003 2003 2003 2004 2004 2011 2012 2012 Don Kohart Lou Flego Jim Bedell Robert Modica Ernie Schwasnick Frank Scudieri Joe Morin Jeff Deneroff Ron LaValle Bill Hanigan Don Robertson Don Robertson Stan Shele Bernie Clair Jim Elliott Kirk Jurgelevich Manny Matos Bob Engelke Bob Engelke Ted Koziarz Ed Hughes John Kane Steve Day Ed Menegaux Bob Cook John Cronin Frank Tashman Todd Lawson Sean Keenan Jim Rinere Mike Swift Steve Kisslinger Tom Naglieri Brian Eisenberg Peter Friedman Andy Marinos Rich Mastanduno Jason Cruciani Eugene Curran Rich Vislocky Dylan Levy Brian Soper Chris Muscarella Jesse Sorensen Brian Hahn Wesley Green Matt Schomburg Frank Canizio Kim Delfs Shane Wynn Danny Blau Greg Puskuldjian Years with Most All-Americans First Team - 6 (1981) Second Team - 3 (1996, 1997, 1999, 2001, 2011) Third Team - 1 (Many Times) Honorable Mention - 3 (1957, 1965, 1987, 1995, 2003) Total - 8 (1997, 1999) 2014 Men’s Lacrosse Media Guide 9 A d e l p h i A t h l e t i c s - A Tr a d i t i o n o f S u c c e s s NCAA Player of The Year 1979 1981 1993 1995 1996 1998 2006 Bob Engelke Ken King Gary Reh Gary Reh Rob Grella Mark Mangan Wesley Green NCAA Defenseman of The Year 1979 2001 Scott Grubert Fred Trifaro NCAA Goalkeeper of The Year 1980 1997 John Kane Rich Grismer Lt.
