WHY CHOOSE BARRACUDA ELECTRODES:
Barracuda ‘Gold’ underwater welding electrodes have been designed and formulated to produce the
highest quality weld metal possible for today’s demanding marine industry. These electrodes are the
accomplishment of many years of knowledge and experience working in the welding industry. The
electrodes are manufactured to the highest standards and are produced under strict quality control
methods and procedures (ISO 9000) to ensure the highest quality at all times.
For any wet welding electrode to produce high quality weld metal the waterproof coating must ensure
moisture is prevented from penetrating the flux coating, while also being allowed to burn away
without undue interference to the transfer of metal. In addition to this, we also offer the highest
protection against the harsh environment in which these electrodes must perform. The Barracuda
‘Gold’ electrodes are guaranteed not to flake blister, or stick together prior to use, even under the
harshest of environments. They offer the highest level of protection against physical damage of any
other electrode on the market, whilst also providing electrical protection for the diver.
Although no standard/specification exists for underwater welding electrodes, the nearest equivalent
may be taken from BS EN ISO 499: 1995 for covered welding electrodes. The Nearest code being
E46 2 1Ni RR 5 1 H15 or (AWS E7014). Barracuda electrodes exceed the specification criteria as
stated under BS EN ISO 15618-1:2002 and AWS D3.6 Specification of underwater class ‘B’ welds.
PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTIC:
These electrodes are designed to be used in all
positions, using standard touch welding techniques,
which are particularly well suited for inexperienced
divers, while at the same time in the hands of more
experienced divers allows for a friendly, controllable
arc characteristic thereby, making welding as easy as
