New Minifast Splitters and Tees That Provide Voltage Monitoring for DeviceNet Applications
TURCK introduces new 7/8-16UN minifast tees, splitters and in-line diagnostic devices, designed for use in DeviceNet applications, including CAN networks and mobile equipment. Models are available in a standard option
for classic DeviceNet use and a voltage monitoring version that contains an integrated circuit board to serve as a
diagnostic tool. Voltage monitoring tees and splitters help troubleshoot and prevent downtime with LEDs that
report normal, over-voltage and under-voltage conditions.
“We saw a need from our DeviceNet customers for tees and splitters that could monitor voltage for areas in
their networks where they encounter voltage issues,” said Abdi Ayanle, Product Manager at TURCK. “The addition of the minifast splitters and tees allows our customers to effectively address trouble areas in their network
to ensure reliable operation.”
The splitters provide parallel wiring, which simplifies installations. The ‘h’ configuration contains a tee connected
to the main trunk line with one parallel premolded cable drop, providing a quick, convenient and space-saving
way to add additional cabling within the cable tray. The splitters may be specified with any gender; negating the
traditional male to female connection requirement. Additionally, the in-line diagnostic devices may be used as
gender changers to connect a male to male or female to female cordset.
Designed to accommodate diverse conditions, the minifast splitters and tees can handle up to 30 volts in temperatures ranging from -40 to 105 degrees C. The splitters and tees also feature an IP67 environmental protection
rating, providing an ideal solution for voltage trouble spots in harsh conditions.

R-GAGE QT50R-AFH Sensor
Banner has released their new Adjustable-Field, High-Sensitivity, Radar-Based Sensors for Detecting Moving and Stationary Targets.
The R-GAGE sensor emits a well-defined beam of high-frequency radio waves from an internal antenna. Some of this emitted energy
reflects back to the receiving antenna. Signal processing electronics in the sensor determine the distance from the sensor to the object
based on the time delay of the return signal. The sensor can be configured (via DIP switches) to sense objects up to a specific distance,
ignoring objects beyond this distance (also called background suppression).
This sensor provides a version of the R-GAGE that is well suited for car parking and other vehicle detection applications. Cars have
proven to be difficult targets to detect for any technology. They present multiple angles and distances of reflection, curved mirrored
surfaces, various combinations of plastic and metal composition, and tend to be driven and parked outside of designated areas. The Fourth
Generation R-GAGE has shown itself to be better than other technologies at tackling these difficult detection applications.
Features
• Fourth Generation FMCW – Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (true-presence) radar detects moving and stationary objects
• Higher sensitivity and longer range than previous FMCW radar
• Longer delay options for improved stability of stationary vehicles
• Wide beam pattern • Adjustable sensing field – ignores objects beyond setpoint
• Robust to extreme weather conditions
• Resilience to high shock and vibration conditions
• Easy setup and configuration of range, sensitivity and output with simple DIP switches
• Sensing functions are unaffected by wind, falling rain or snow, fog, humidity, air temperatures, or light
• Sensor operates in Industrial, Scientific, and Medical (ISM) telecommunication band; no special license required
• Rugged IP67 housing withstands harsh environments
• Protected by U.S. Patents

R-GAGE QT50R-AF2W Sensor
Adjustable-Field, Dual-Zone, Waveguide Sensors for Detecting Moving and Stationary Targets
Banner has released their new Adjustable-Field, High-Sensitivity, Radar-Based Sensors for Detecting Moving and Stationary Targets.
The R-GAGE sensor emits a well-defined beam of high-frequency radio waves from an internal antenna. Some of this
emitted energy is reflected back to the receiving antenna. Signal processing electronics determine the distance from
the sensor to the object based on the time delay of the return signal. The sensor can be configured to two independent sensing zones.
The two sensing zones are factory pre-set to default distances; they can be reconfigured for different distances using
the DIP switches on the back of the sensor. The sensor is plug-in ready for immediate operation. The sensitivity was
pre-calibrated at the factory, assuming that the sensing field will be clear of obstacles.
The sensitivity can be adjusted using the DIP switches on the back of the sensor.
This sensor provide a solution to port crane anti-collision applications. For the past five years Banner has worked with
large OEM crane manufacturers around the world to design a sensor that meets their challenging needs. We are now
presenting this advanced technology as a standard product offering. The QT50R-AF2W sensor is a lower cost alternative to the Q120RA model, providing approximately half the sensitivity and range.
