Miniature Figurines
"They're adorable! I am very excited to introduce the Miniature Figurine collection for Spring 2010, each one inspired
by the many animals we have so affectionately crafted over the years. Look closely and see the Jay Strongwater
hallmarks of modelmaking, painting enamel, and setting Swarovoski crystals. Whether it's the proud peacock or the
inquisitive bunny, what a delightful way to begin a collection for you or a loved one." ~ Jay Strongwater
Flora & Fauna
This season’s Flora and Fauna collection is as fresh as a day in spring! Newly awakened dogwood blossoms are gently
kissed with the palest of pinks, while butterscotch and lavender-tinted butterflies flutter about. A handsome new
moss green frame is the backdrop to a bevy of detachable jeweled critters that can be worn as pins. A lush floral
brooch is set against a topaz frame and is also removable, as is a bejeweled hummingbird set against a celadon frame.
A songbird figurine is crowned in powder blue and pale green feathers, while the friendliest little frog basks on a lily
pad. It’s a new day bursting forth with life and color!
Meadow
Our walk through the Meadow continues this season with the romance of the hydrangea flower. Floriferous poufs
of blue and lavender hydrangeas have inspired a brand new frame, vase and bowl. Two lovely mophead flowers have
seemingly sprouted up around the bottom edge of a frame to cradle it. With smoky-blue colored glass as a backdrop,
a hedgerow of hydrangea line the top of a bowl, while another bevy of blossoms creates a shoulder-draping collar
for a vase. The Meadow Scene Frame from last season has also inspired a new Limited Edition Meadow Scene
Egg. Complete with a grazing fawn, a bunny and a butterfly dancing amid the wildflowers, the egg is enameled in 24
brilliant shades of color that bring this storybook scene to life..
Blush
The Fall 2009 launch of Blush has been met with rave reviews! True to its glamorous Hollywood inspiration, we
have continued to pleat, fold, cinch and gather the moiré satin fabrics into a tissue box, waste basket, soap pump,
and an elegant little bud vase. Each piece is dramatically adorned with glimmering bursts of crystals, and enameled
in those wonderfully soft rosy blush tones. The palette opens up into soft heather blues and apricot tones on two
blossom frames: the classic 5”x7” Bouquet Frame and the little 2”x3” Bouquet Frame.
Hot House
That composition of life-sized vibrant blossoms that is Hot House continues to radiate this season. A handsomely
towering amethyst-hued glass vase is lavishly adorned at the neck with a poppy, a tulip, daffodils, camellias and roses,
all in true-to-life scale and vibrantly hued. The local fauna also enter the scene, in equally lavish style. An iguana
figurine is decked out in a myriad of fancy-cut Swarovski crystals, while a chameleon perches itself on a leaf-edged
frame. The drama and subtle exoticism of Hot House endures.

Our Heritage
JAY STRONGWATER
T
hroughout his career, Jay Strongwater’s love of the bejeweled objét
whether it’s meant to rest on a tabletop or the graceful curve of a woman’s neck,
has led him on a journey through the worlds of fashion and home furnishings.
Strongwater began his career in 1981 while a student at the Rhode Island School
of Design. After garnering raves for a necklace he made for his mother, he took
jewelry samples to the open buyer days at several of New York’s department
stores and a burgeoning business was born. Strongwater’s taste for big, bold bijoux
was seen throughout the '80s on fashion runways, magazine cover and prominent
jewelry counters across the country.
The move to home accessories was delightfully serendipitous and organic.
The spark was a jewel-encrusted picture frame Jay created in 1995 using
components from his jewelry collection. He first gave these as gifts to friends,
fashion editors and buyers who immediately wanted more. By 1998, his Jewels for
the Home had supplanted his fashion business.

n essence, Strongwater created his own niche: the jeweler turning
his meticulous eye and art on a world beyond a woman’s wrist, neck and ears.
“I’m fascinated by the idea of taking our everyday belongings—frames, boxes,
clocks—and turning them into a beautiful collage of metal, enamel, and crystals.”
Strongwater collectors often say they feel the hand of the artisan behind each
design. That almost tangible sense is the result of the 125 highly trained artisans
in the designer’s New York atelier and his production workshop in Rhode Island,
where most pieces are brought to life. Over the years, Jay’s vision has grown
into a lifestyle collection of furniture, lighting and decorative accessories.
