Participants racing on Saturday should pick up their packets on Friday. Location: Old Mill District, 330 SW Powerhouse Drive, Suite 130 (between Desperado and Jimmy John’s) Friday, July 15: 4pm to 7:30pm Saturday, July 16: 1pm to 4pm 7:30am both Saturday and Sunday If you are new to triathlon, we’ll give you a 30-minute head start! Starting at 7:30am, this wave is more relaxed and limited in size. This is a great opportunity for new swimmers to get their feet wet (literally) in the sport while not having the anxiety of faster swimmers passing them and still be able to finish the race with the main pack of triathletes. If you cannot pick up your packets during these times, you may pick up your packet early on race morning (6:00 am) near the transition area. Swim With Confidence! Packet Pick-up Transition Area, Bike Check and Body Marking Youth, Juniors and Kids Events COPAKIds Splash ‘n Dash Saturday 7/16, noon Presented by Central Oregon Pediatric Associates, the Splash ‘n Dash is geared toward FUN for Kids ages 3-10 with an athletic obstacle course, water slide , pools, balancing beams and more. The race begins with a climb up an inflatable stair, down a big slide and into a pool of water! The race finishes with a sprint to the finish line under the inflatable arch. Every participant receives a finisher’s medal, t-shirt, their own bib number and a complimentary scoop of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream! Please set up your transition area before heading to the swim start. The transition is on the webst side of the river, across the flag footbridge from The Old Mill District. The transition area is on a soft grass surface. Only that day’s athletes are allowed in the transition area. Family and friends can watch from outside the fencing. Racks will be numbered, find the rack that matches your bib number and rack your bike. While in the transition area, find a volunteer with a marker. They will write your bib number on your arm and your thigh and your age or category (R for relay) on the back of your calf. REI will have a have a bike mechanic station set up for last-minute technical issues inside the transition area. While there isn’t an official bike check by the USA Triathlon officials, you are responsible for making sure you are complying with USAT rules. The number one bike safety issue is having bar end caps on your handlebars and aero bars – make sure you have end caps on your bars!
