Why
Orthodontics?
Adding orthodontics to your practice
is not only a lucrative business
decision, but also a professionally
rewarding experience.
Give your patients beautiful smiles.
INCREASE YOUR REVENUE
With the national average fee for
orthodontics over $4500, providing
orthodontics to your clients can dramatically
increase your practice revenue, with no
additional marketing costs!
PATIENT SATISFACTION &
LIFETIME CUSTOMERS
With orthodontics you can create a
comprehensive practice to give your patients
the best care. General dentistry is moving
towards a focus on aesthetics. By providing
orthodontic treatment, patients will come
to you first when they need other cosmetic
procedures.
INCREASE REFERRALS
Orthodontics is a great way to increase
referrals, because patients want
orthodontics and talk about it with their
friends. You are greatly enhancing their
smile, and people notice!
EASY TO REPRODUCE
Correctly learned orthodontics is a practical
addition to any dental practice. By following
orthodontic principles and thorough
treatment planning, you can easily perform

The
Progressive Orthodontics
Difference
Learning with Progressive Orthodontics is more than just learning orthodontics.
Our approach gives you a complete experience unmatched elsewhere...
because we care about you.
Our system emphasizes overall predictability so that you can
confidently perform orthodontics knowing exactly how patient
malocclusions will respond to treatment. With over 200 cases used
for instruction and students each diagnosing 100 cases from full
records, you will not only master the principles, but confidently apply
them. We are dedicated to giving you the most comprehensive and
practical learning experience in orthodontics, as well as the support
you need to provide the highest level of orthodontic care.
COMPREHENSIVE
Our program teaches you how
to perform the highest level of
orthodontics in your practice.
Starting from the basics of
orthodontics, you will learn how to
treat 90% of orthodontic cases in our
Comprehensive program (our optional
Section 4 Dentofacial Program
will cover the remaining 10%). Our
program includes hundreds of case
studies, and a system of orthodontic
principles to guide you through any
situation. With a program of 48 days,
we teach the most comprehensive
Continuing Education course in
orthodontics. We do not just look
at the quick and easy cases with
abnormally good results; our students
analyze mistakes. We promise to show
you all the information on every case,
giving you the understanding you need
to take on any situation.
LIFETIME SUPPORT
We understand dentists’ busy lifestyle
and continued need for support.
We have developed a system so that
you can ask questions or have our
instructors evaluate a case at any
time, from anywhere in the world.
This level of access will give you the
confidence you need to treat your
cases immediately. Best of all, these
tools are available to you for the rest
of your career. You can feel secure

success, and through our Free Retake
and Lifetime Support programs, you
can feel confident that we will always

information you need and to help you
visualize our concepts.
PRACTICAL
Progressive Orthodontics is created
and run by practicing dentists, who
always keep in mind clinical realities.
All of our instructors have active
practices and understand the everyday
demands that you face. Our program
ensures that orthodontics is both
a profitable and enjoyable facet of
dentistry. You can feel secure with
our lifetime support since we are a
full system and not reliant on just
one person. We teach a system that
you can use in your practice right
away. We encourage you to start
cases immediately, starting after your
third live seminar or second internet
module.
2 Formats, 1 System
Progressive Orthodontics is committed to giving its
students every opportunity to learn. We cater to dentists’
busy lifestyle and individual learning styles and teach
seminars comprehensively in two formats—a traditional
live format and an Internet Assisted Training (IAT). Our
third format, seminar videos, is also available to students
and graduates of both the live and IAT series free of charge.
TRADITIONAL LIVE SERIES
Our traditional live series has flourished since 1984. With
carefully trained and tested instructors, we have produced
thousands of satisfied graduates worldwide. Instructors use
Powerpoint presentations, hands-on exercises, and other visual
tools to help you learn. You have in-person access to instructors
and students to answer your questions immediately.
>> For the audio-visual learners who like continuous teacher-
student interaction
>> 48 day series (12 seminars of 4 days, each seminar running
Friday to Monday)
>> Same cost as IAT seminars
>> Inquire to see a day of our instruction
INTERNET (IAT)
Since 1999, hundreds of students have successfully used our
Internet Assisted Training (IAT) to learn the same curriculum
as our Live Seminar Series in the convenience of their own
home. You can work at your own pace without having to travel
or take off from your practice. The IAT Program consists of 4
modules that each include an internet portion followed by a live
seminar in Sacramento, CA. You must complete the Internet
portion of each module before enrolling in each seminar.
>> Developed for those who need a flexible schedule, thrive on
online learning and stay on top of their work
>> 4 modules (Modules A, 1, 2, and 3: requiring about 300 hours of
total study)
>> Includes 12 days of live seminar spread over 2 years (4 seminars
of 3 days, each running Friday to Sunday)
>> Same cost as live seminars
>> IAT students are just as capable and proficient as their live
seminar counterparts
>> Inquire to get a free 30-day trial
>> You may take the live portion of Module A on
February 15-17, 2013 or October 4-6, 2013
THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS
As part of our Lifetime Free Retake Policy, once you
have paid for the seminar in one format, you can
retake the seminar in the same or alternative format
for free at any time for the rest of your career. Many of
our dedicated students also take both versions at the
same time, in order to maximize their learning.
Both series include our orthodontic software,
IPSoftTM, designed to help students treat cases with
high treatment predictability (See pg. 6) as well as
our comprehensive support to help you with case
diagnosis, and technical or seminar questions.

Treatment Plan Detail
Students use step-by-step, comprehensive treatment
plans to help them accurately plan and predict every
aspect of treatment prior to starting the case. These
treatment plans give students the detailed guidance to
start cases early in their training. With over 150 of the
most detailed treatment plans in orthodontics, students
can be in control of all case types from the consulting
stage to finishing and retention.
The Progressive Orthodontics system is
the most comprehensive system available.
I knew nothing about ortho when I started,
but now I feel confident tackling even the
most difficult cases in my practice.”
— Dr. Collins Harrell, San Clemente, CA
DETAILED TREATMENT PLANS GUIDE YOU WITH
>> Consultation Key Points help the doctor make a better
and more organized second consultation to the potential
patient.
>> Patient Reports can automatically be generated,
putting together every aspect of the case. This can also
be presented to the patient as a visual business tool for
improving case acceptance.
>> Summary Section allows for your clinic to
have efficient case-by-case organization at every
appointment, and a guide to ensure the case is
proceeding as planned.
>> Unprecedented Detail with visual cues ensure that
every prediction is being analyzed, every decision is
carefully made, and the reasoning behind each decision
is documented. This gives an easy reference on what
is predicted and reasoning behind each treatment
objective.
>> Customizable treatment plans are editable in IPSoft™
and Microsoft® Word, allowing the doctor to create a
custom plan through the software’s guidance.
I am impressed with the cutting edge technology
that Progressive Orthodontics developed to allow
GPs to diagnose and treat even complex cases in an
efficient, effective and predictable manner. Best of
all my patients love the results!”
—Dr. Dan X. Nguyen, Rancho Cucamonga, CA
Case Study
YOU can provide world-class orthodontic care in your
practice. Below is a case from one of our 2005 graduates,
Dr. Dan Nguyen. Thousands of our students have given their
patients the satisfaction of perfect smiles, even with difficult
cases, as you see through this case example.
These are treatment results that you can duplicate
in your practice with our system and support.
All students must complete two cases, however
most do far more. Some of our students start
more than 200 orthodontic cases during the
approximately 20 months of Comprehensive
Series attendance. During the time of your
education, you can expect to receive a return
on your investment equal to or greater than the
money spent on education and supplies.

What do I need
to participate in the hands-on
exercises and perform cases?
In order to learn orthodontics and incorporate
it into your practice, you will need supplies.
In 1985, Progressive Dental Supply formed to
make purchasing orthodontic supplies simpler
for our students. This allowed our experienced
instructors to recommend product to students,
allowing new students to find the correct
products the first time. We have continued
this guiding principle over the past 28 years,
giving our clients high quality products at very
competitive prices and only carrying one of each
product to keep ordering simple.
To participate in the hands-on portion of
Progressive Orthodontics, you will need to have
the materials in the Educational Kit by the third
seminar or second IAT module. This kit includes
many orthodontic instruments as well as sample
sizes of materials, and can be bought prior
from Progressive Dental Supply. If you have
the instruments in the kit, you do not need to
purchase them again. If you want to participate
in the optional anchorage exercises, you will
also need a Section 3 Kit. For a list of the
products necessary for your education, please
contact our staff.
IP Appliance/Supply
In 2003, Progressive Orthodontics released the Individual Patient
(IP) Appliance®, the first customized appliance system on the
market. This system is based on the straight archwire technique
but revolutionizes orthodontics by allowing doctors to choose the
optimal appliance for each patient. This customization results in
faster, more consistent treatment results. Best of all, this single
patient inventory system reduces much of the overhead typically
necessary to begin to practice orthodontics, making it easier for
all dentists to offer orthodontics to their patients.
The IP Appliance® has proven to be the most effective method
of practicing orthodontics. Cases finish in 40% less time by
adding torque and rotations early in cases. This system also
uses the optimal archwire shape for each patient based on each
individual’s anatomy and case goals. More importantly, results are
more stable as teeth have been in their final position for longer.
Also, by using bracket slot variations in coordination with the
correct archform, you improve the consistency of your results by
minimizing wire bending.
Our principles apply to all methods of straight archwire
orthodontics.
Our teaching system presents principles used in all straight
archwire systems, then builds on this to create the individually
customized IP Appliance® for each patient. Instead of a “one size
fits all” approach used in straight wire appliances, tremendous
efficiency and improved results are attained by customizing the
fixed appliance to each patient and treatment.
We are confident that once you see the advantages of the IP
Appliance® you will never use another system. Our system
was created by practicing dentists to solve the difficulties
and inefficiencies faced in the clinic. Now these solutions are
available to all!
Progressive Orthodontics combines a
well-developed, comprehensive series with
competent, well-seasoned instructors and a
state of the art bracket and wire system. This
allowed me to add orthodontics into my practice
with confidence after the third seminar.”

Seminars need to be taken in order, starting with Seminar 1. Missed seminars can be made up via video or IAT. The remaining
seminars will be offered from 2014. Space is limited. Registration counted only upon receipt of tuition.
LIFETIME FREE RETAKE POLICY
For no additional charge, you may retake any seminar at any
of our worldwide locations or get access to any IAT or video
section that you have already paid for. This is available for
your entire career. We want you to reach the highest levels
of knowledge and skill. We encourage you to come back
and refresh your education. Just contact us so we can make
arrangements!
TAKING INDIVIDUAL SEMINARS
We do not allow dentists to take only a few of the seminars in
the series, or to skip the beginning classes if they have taken
other orthodontic courses in the past. Learning our system as
a whole will guarantee that you produce the highest quality
of treatment results. We do provide discounts to dentists with
150 hours of prior orthodontic education.
REFUND POLICY
We will give you a full refund on your registration payment
for the first seminar if you cannot or choose not to attend.
Unlike many CE organizations that give only partial refunds
or require large non-refundable prepayment part-way through,
we are created by dentists, for dentists, and always treat our
students fairly. Simply call us and we’ll take care of it!

Experience the
Progressive Difference
for Yourself!
Thank you for your interest in Progressive Orthodontic Seminars. I created Progressive Orthodontics over 29 years ago so
any dentist could successfully and confidently perform orthodontics on their patients. Previously, I felt that orthodontic
courses did not show all aspects of orthodontics in a series that could be easily understood by any dentist.
Other courses tended to only show their best cases, which is impractical and misleading. Since then, I have spent over 29 years
perfecting a course to show the realities of orthodontics, giving students real world knowledge to perform ortho successfully on
every case. We look at cases from all types, including misleading and difficult cases, and what to do when something goes wrong. By
understanding orthodontics in its entirety, you can confidently practice orthodontics and provide the best care for your patients.
We do not use “Progressive” as just another buzzword, but as our mission to continuously
develop the most comprehensive teaching, best technology, and integrated support for our
students. You have read for yourself why we have over 5,000 satisfied graduates from over 34
locations. So why don’t you see for yourself the quality of our instruction.
I invite you to visit one of our Free Introductory Classes,
or a day in our current classes to see the quality of our education first hand. If you are
interested in a more flexible program with online studying, sign up to get 30 days of free
access to our Internet Assisted Training (IAT). Now you can decide for yourself if this is
the right course for you! And if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to talk to anyone
from the Progressive Family, including our helpful staff or graduates.
With warmest regards,
Dr. Don McGann
