• Head coach Pat Casey is entering his 15th year at Oregon State
and is still just the third-most tenured coach in school history.
• Ralph Coleman coached the Beavers for 35 years, and Jack Riley,
Casey’s predecessor, was in the dugout for 22 years. Riley holds
the school record for victories with 613, followed by Coleman’s 561.
Casey enters the 2009 season with 468 wins, third in OSU history.
• All three coaches are ranked in the top 20 in Pac-10 history in victories. Riley is 12th all-time, while Coleman is 15th. Casey is 20th.
• Casey has been named the Pac-10 Coach of the Year twice and
once as the Northern Division Coach of the Year. Riley earned
Northern Division honors five times.
• Casey was also the first Oregon State head coach to earn national recognition when multiple organizations named him National
Coach of the Year in 2005, 2006 and 2007.
• This past offseason, three former OSU assistants were named
head coaches: Gary Henderson (Kentucky), Dan Spencer (Texas
Tech) and Donny Harrel (Seattle).
