­festival-goers.
Obviously the music

this weekend's line-up
is destined to position
Secondfest up there as
one of this summer's
best festivals. Pet Shop
Boys, New Young Pony
Club, Simian Mobile
Disco and Hot Chip are
just a few of the acts
taking a star turn at this
unique virtual event.
But festivals
aren’t just about
the music. Hidden
around Secondfest
are fresh adventures
­transporting you to
dynamic places —open
air cinemas, secret
beach parties, hidden
rabbit holes to VIP
areas. There's even
some virtual mud,
lest you didn't get
enough last weekend
at Glastonbury. But this

New Young Pony Club
HIGHLIGHTS:
The Aliens
The New Young Pony Club aren't
simply trotting around the nation's
­collective psyche, they're positively
galloping around in it. Definitely
one of the most talked about bands
of 2007, NYPC are a glittery electrodisco five-piece from London who
mix 80's synths with thudding beats
and sublime pop melodies.
Saturday, 10pm, Main stage
Having scrubbed the mud from
their wellies after a three-set stint at
Glastonbury, the Aliens are landing in
Secondfest bringing with them their
trademark brand of pyschadelic rock
electronica. Praise attached to their
debut album moves from “genius will
always find a way to shine" to “pure
gold dust". Quite good then.

HIGHLIGHTS:
Hot Chip DJ Kicks set
If Hot Chip's 2006 breakthrough album
confirmed them as one of the kookiest dance bands around, then their
DJ Kicks mix sees them showcasing a
quirky technique behind the decks.
Throwing indie, electro-pop, hip hop
and techno into the pot they manage
to blend this collection of styles into
a decade-spanning mix of fun filled
beats and grooves.

HIGHLIGHTS:
Wiley
Hailing from the depths of east
London, 28-year-old Richard Cowie,
better known as Wiley is dubbed the
‘godfather of grime’ and this year, after
a stint in retirement, he’s back with his
new album, Playtime Is Over. Wiley
brings the Eskimo or ‘cold’ sounds to
grime, the urban music making waves
at nightclubs and festivals alike.
