We’d like to tell you about some of these resources, so you can engage with
IF:Gathering all year long...
IF:Table is a monthly meal and conversation. We provide four questions
each month. You invite a few women, break bread and learn about God and
one another through community. You can read more about IF:Table on the
following pages.
IF:Equip is a simple tool that has gathered an online community of tens of
thousands of women who encourage and challenge one another. Each day
we dive into Biblical truths, with a video and a few questions for processing.
You can read more about IF:Equip on the following pages.
IF:Pray is when we gather around the world and humble ourselves before
God in prayer. We believe God hears and answers prayers and we want our
focus to be a time of seeking the Lord in this way in our communities. Stay
tuned for more information about this year’s IF:Pray gathering.
Thank you for coming. We hope that it will be used for the glory of God and
the good of others.

As Director of National Strategy and Interventions with IJM in Delhi, Anjali led her team to
help rescue close to 5,000 bonded labourers
in 19 of India’s 29 states, in the last 5 years.
She has overseen the training of more than
17,000 police, government officials, NGO
staff and others on the rescue and rehabilitation of bonded labourers and has taught them
how to bring criminals to justice. A victim
of violence herself, Anjali decided to make
a commitment to get involved in work that
makes justice for the poor possible. A lawyer
by profession, Anjali holds a Master’s degree
in Business Administration from Edith Cowan
University, Australia and a Master’s degree
in Organizational Leadership from Eastern

Esther has captured iconic imagery for
charity: water, TOMS, and many more
organizations that impact our world for
good. More than a photographer, she is
a storyteller -- capturing not just a person’s portrait but also a sense of who
they are and what makes them shine.
She believes we are all better together
and is grateful to be a part of the Dallas
creative community at Weld. She loves
investing in the next generation, and
sharing her skills and her old cameras
with young apprentice photographers
around the world.

Rebekah believes that survivors make
the most beautiful people. She loves
nothing more than watching women
walk in freedom and bravely shares her
own story of surrender in Freefall to
Fly. She is passionate about how faith
and culture intersect and she and her
husband Gabe founded Q Ideas to help
Christians explore how to embrace the
gospel in public life. While speaking
often pulls her away from home, she
always rushes back to Nashy to spend
some time with her three not-so-littles.

If IF was “The Hunger Games,” we are
pretty sure Melissa would be one of our
victors. She can basically do it all. (Except
she insisted you know she can’t ever get
Christmas cards out and she depends on
Trader Joes for meals). When she’s not
mothering her two boys, she’s traveling
the world and protecting the poor. Her
official title at IJM is the SVP of Global
Advancement. She might live in Washington, D.C. but like any proper Texas Longhorn, she still loves Austin. She believes

if:equip
IF:Equip is a tool designed to help you spend time in scripture and unpack Biblical
truths in community. Five days a week we dive into a book of the Bible or a passage
of scripture around a central theme. We provide questions for journaling, processing
and spiritual growth a new video every day that helps give insight into the passage.
There is something so beautiful and powerful about women from all over the world
gathering together in the Word -- encouraging, challenging, and praying for one another.
“It is a great way to start my day. Love hearing different women discuss
God’s word. As a church planter’s wife, it is such a great tool to be able
to share with other women. Lots of women ask, ‘How do I start reading
the Bible?’ It is such a great resource to point them to use!” – Heather
“Loving it. It has been really effective in getting me in the word more
than other studies. It is simple, I LOVE journaling, and I look forward
to the short clips.” – Amber

if:table
While we adore getting together here at the IF:Gathering, we know that so much of our
relationships take place within the context of homes and around tables. That’s why we
dreamed up the idea of IF:Table. The goal here is simple: two hours, four questions,
six women.
We based these numbers on Acts 2:46, which says, “And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and
generous hearts.”
It doesn’t have to be anything fancy or orchestrated. It could be a potluck or takeout or
breakfast food. But what matters is that you pull up chairs to the table and ask questions
that reveal where you are at in a real, authentic way. Our hope is that as women come
together at the table, they are able to be known and get to know others and live out discipleship in an environment that is safe and personal. Each IF:Table has a flavor of its own
because every woman brings her own uniqueness — which we love!
We provide the questions every month and sometimes a recipe or a story to go along with
inspiration for gathering around the table. Our prayer is that as you invite people into
your home, you will find that you can welcome one another to follow after Jesus in the
ordinary, everyday lives that you lead in the places God has put you.

Arriving in Rwanda was like arriving home. I
grew up in Nigeria, another African country,
and my parents still live there. I wasn’t shocked
or amazed by the dirt roads, women carrying
loads on their heads, toddlers backing babies
(or carrying machetes), or even the juxtaposition of the level of comfort that was available
to the wealthy few against the sheer poverty of
the majority. In fact, before going on this trip,
I was a little bit skeptical about the idea of child

sponsorships. Are lives really changed? Does
life really change?
I’m not sure about other organizations, but with
Africa New Life, I got to see firsthand that it
www.africanewlife.org
definitely does. With every child we met, and every home visit we did, there were stories of hope
and redemption that flowed out. The gratitude
everyone expressed was never just for themselves, but for how the sponsorship allowed
them to help their community and their country.
There is a saying that goes, “If you give a man a
fish, you feed him for a day. If you teach a man
to fish, you feed him for a lifetime.” Someone in
Rwanda added another line to that: “If you teach
him how to own the pond, he can feed his whole
community.” Let’s just say, by the end of the
trip, I was a believer in Africa New Life and their
child sponsorship program.

As a teenager eager to build a better life for herself, Tavi* followed her boyfriend
to Mumbai in search of a job, but Tavi’s boyfriend betrayed her and sold her to a
brothel in Kamathipura, one of the largest red-light areas in Asia. She endured
humiliation and abuse for over three years. “It was a very painful time for me. I
was extremely unhappy. They [the brothel keepers] would always keep us inside
and we never knew what was happening in the outside world.” At first, Tavi tried
to fight back by refusing to see customers, but the owner beat her. Most days, Tavi
was forced to see up to six customers. She tried to run away but her every move
was watched to make sure she didn’t escape. In August 2011, a team of IJM staff
and police rescued Tavi and two other young women. Tavi spent a year living at
an aftercare shelter where she learned to make jewelry, took beautician courses
and regularly met with her IJM social worker, Sheela. Today, Tavi earns a steady
income at a handicrafts company, and lives in a transitional home for survivors of
sex trafficking. “I never gave up. I was always hoping that one day, I will be out of
this place and God has changed my life fully,” Tavi shared.

JOYN is a socially conscious fashion brand producing women’s accessories that
are 100-percent handmade; from spinning and weaving of cotton, to hand block
printing using ancient Indian techniques and finally stitching beautiful JOYN
products. We have two foundational beliefs: that work is essential to a meaningful
life and that community is essential to a joyful life. Our mission is to create sustainable jobs for the most marginalized in the world by entering into community
with them and living among them. We purposefully move into broken communities and seek out these people, because we believe in empowering, not enabling.
THIS is why JOYN exists, to create community and a culture that empowers and
dignifies. We put work into the hands of those who deserve it, who most need it,
but who have never had a chance.
“I was having a particularly dark moment of homesickness and self-pity one day as
I was living in India. I decided to drive my scooter to our market to buy vegetables
for dinner. When I was parking I saw a woman my age who looked just like me
except she was Indian. She was begging with a naked baby on her hip. In that
instant, I realized I could have easily been born into her situation instead of my
own: poor, uneducated, unable to feed my children. It’s only by the grace of God
2
that He has gifted me with what I have today: a loving family, an education, work,
the list continues... I believe God put that woman in my path to teach me this lesson which has transformed my perspective and gave me a calling to spend my life
giving opportunities to women like the one by the vegetable stand.”

Though Ana grew up in a village in Guatemala where jobs were scarce, her family
worked hard to send to her to school. This opportunity gave her the courage to
dream of how she could make an impact in her village. She launched an artisan
business that creates dignified jobs for women. Since 2011, Ana has partnered with
Noonday Collection to design beautiful, hand woven scarves. Now Ana’s business
is thriving – and so are families in her community.
Melissa is a Noonday Ambassador. After a mission trip to Ethiopia, Melissa prayed
for an opportunity to use her gifts to impact others. Becoming an Ambassador has
been an answer to this prayer, Melissa says. Last summer, Noonday Collection
invited a group of Ambassadors to travel to Guatemala to meet Ana and our other
artisan partners. Melissa was one of the women who joined this journey and heard
Ana’s story of courage. This experience empowered Melissa to become a bold advocate: I want my daughters to see me use my gifts for good. I love telling them Ana’s
story. I know one day they too will have the courage to make a difference. Getting
to connect the Ambassadors has been transformative for Ana, too: knowing that we
have these women as partners motivates us to dream bigger!

YouWood creates all wood products with a big purpose:
TO DO GOOD. Every YouWood product makes an impact by sharing a percentage of the profit with one of
three causes: food for the hungry, freedom for slaves

and care for orphans. When no one else would feed the
hungry, free the slave or love the orphan, YOUWOOD.

When No One Else Would T-shirt | $25
What IF God is calling you to something BIG? We believe that He is. He is
calling you to a world-changing kind of thing. You have a purpose, and that
purpose is wrapped tightly around the heart of God. You are a rescued life
sent to rescue others. You have been set free to free others. Your purpose
is to engage the world, with all of its brokenness, and change it. YouWood
was created to give everyone the chance to put to their feet to their purpose
through their purchases.
IF no one else would, would you? Would you stand in the gap for the poor?
Would you use your resources, your time, your platform and your spending
to show the broken in our world that you see them; that they matter? What
would happen IF you decided to fully live in the created purpose for your life?
The hungry, the enslaved and the orphaned live in fear that no one will hear
them, no one will respond and no one will choose to change their future. But
what IF you did?
Show our world that “When no one else would: YOUWOOD”.

In Radical, David Platt challenges
you to consider with an open heart
how we have manipulated the gospel to fit our cultural preferences.
He shows what Jesus actually said
about being his disciple--then
invites you to believe and obey
what you have heard. And he tells
the dramatic story of what is happening as a “successful” suburban
church decides to get serious
about the gospel according to
Jesus.
Pastor, leader, and blogger Eugene Cho has a confession: he
loves justice and compassion―until there’s a personal cost. Using
an engaging writing style that
many listeners will be familiar
with from his Huffington Post and
Sojourners blogs, Cho confesses
his idealism and invites listeners
on a journey of practical discipleship, one that changes the world
not with words, but in action, and
with our lives.
There are times when worship
overflows easily and effortlessly
from a heart full of gratitude
and praise. Yet, there are other
times when God seems far and
we feel we have nothing left to
offer. We are tired, or thirsty, or
imprisoned in our own chains
through our own devices, or
caught in the waves of a tumultuous sea. This is when God
shows us His steadfast love.
