Advertisers have reported new business from as far away as
Belleville or Bowmanville; as cottagers are listening at home
and at work.
The station went live last February, but the official
launch is slotted for October 14th at 6 a.m. with the
Morning Coffee Break Show hosted by local DJ Paul
Wilson. The idea for an internet based radio station was
predominantly Paul’s dream, but it’s taken the funds and
energy of a strong team of staff to cover all the bases and
make this dream a reality.
Paul started in the DJ business when he was twelve years
old, and has been servicing The City of Kawartha Lakes for
over thirty years. “My dad, Ross, drove me to gigs before
I got my driver’s license, and when I did start driving he
started working for me. He was my best friend, and we
worked together until he retired at seventy-four.” Paul’s

CKLR’s current big event is
hosting their first Homegrown
Contest All Canadian Music Show
on Monday evenings between six
and ten with your hosts Scary Harry Somers and Spoons
Ruthie. The contest is open to all genres of music, and
winners are to be featured on the CKLR Homegrown
Compilation Disc. The contest closes at the end of January
and the only rule is that entrants live-in or have livedin The City of Kawartha Lakes. For more information

CKLR will be broadcasting live this weekend from
the October Festival at Caygeon Lanes and regularly
broadcasts live at the Friday night Rockin’ Bowls. If
