navigators on a classic Inside Passage
cruise.
Your adventure begins in Vancouver,
B.C., sailing north through crystal waters
bordered by verdant forests.
Your first port of call: Ketchikan, a ruggedly charming town rich in Native American culture, Known as
the Salmon Capital of Alaska, Ketchikan will offer you an opportunity to sample its exquisite seafood.
Next, you sail into Juneau, a city with its own “backyard glacier,” the mighty Mendenhall. Tour this
famous glacier, or drop in the Red Dog Saloon for a nostalgic trip back to the days of the great Gold Rush.
A magical day cruising Glacier Bay follows, Accompanied by two National Park Service naturalists, you
will learn about the active glaciers that meet tidewater here, and perhaps witness a glacier “calving” a new
iceberg.

Then it’s on to Sitka, former capital of the Russian fur-trading empire. Inspect the glowing icons in oniondomed St Michael’s Cathedral, or take in a performance by the lively New Archangel Dancers.
Cruising homeward, you’ll enjoy a relaxing day and a half sailing past magnificent scenery, But if you’ve
considered a cruisetour into the heartland of Alaska and the Yukon, your adventure has just begun!
The Glacier Route
Perhaps the Great Land’s most popular attraction, Alaska’s Ice Age glaciers are dazzling to behold. Now
you have the chance to get acquainted with these icy gems on one of our special Glacier Route cruises.
Your cruise begins with a journey through the Inside Passage, where you’ll enjoy port calls in Ketchikan
and Juneau. In Juneau, you’ll have the opportunity to view your first glaciers the enormous Mendenhall
right outside city limits, and the huge Juneau Ice Cap, mother of the Mendenhall and 30 other glaciers.
Following a visit to Russian-flavored Sitka, you’ll sail north through the Gulf of Alaska. Greeting you as
you enter Yakutat Bay is Hubbard Glacier. You’ll cruise slowly by this stupendous wall of ice, and watch
for the drama of icebergs being born.
Next, it’s on to Valdez, the pristine “Switzerland of Alaska”, where you have the option of touring the
mighty Columbia Glacier on a flightseeing excursion! Then, visit College Fjord, an ice-rimmed inlet full of
diamond-like glaciers. After this magical day, you’ll have time to sit back and watch the scenery unfold as
you cruise out into Prince William Sound.
Your cruise ends in Seward with a scenic motorcoach journey to Anchorage and a flight
home. But why end your vacation here, when you can add an inland tour and see much more of what
Alaska and the Yukon have to offer?
