When I looked through what’s
in this Guide I noted the events
I don’t want to miss – and I
don’t see how I can fit them all
in! The macrobert pantomime
sounds like a load of fun and
there’s definitely more than a
few events at the Albert Halls
and Tolbooth that I’ve already
got earmarked. The Christmas
lights switch on is a family event
I don’t like to miss – always tied
in with some shopping and a
festive meal in the city centre.
And up at the Castle there is
always lots to see and do.

I’m sure you’ll find events that
you won’t want to miss too.
Hogmanay celebrations on the
Castle Esplanade? Shopping
at the Farmers’ Market? Taking
the children to see Santa? There
truly is something for everyone.
And for your Christmas
shopping or seasonal
celebrations, this Guide
is packed full of excellent
suggestions. So enjoy your
Christmas in Stirling. I know I’m
going to enjoy mine!
A sincere thank you to everyone
who has contributed to and
supported this Guide. We rely on
you for its continuing success.

Festive Inspiration from
Sterling Furniture
Isabelle Greenwood, Homes and Interiors Buyer at Sterling
Furniture gives her top tips for bringing the festive feel to your
home with traditional handmade-style decorations.
✳
✳
Keep it simple
Go Nordic this Christmas and keep your décor fresh and simple.
Think alpine ski lodge touches and cosy warm fires.
Home is where the heart is
Spread festive cheer throughout the home with decorations that add a bit of personality, like heart-shaped cut out patterns and festive-themed door signs.
Go gingham
Update your sofa and inject personality into your dining room
linens with beautiful cushions in bright cheery ginghams and
ticking patterns to give a really Christmassy feel.
Bring the outdoors in
Decorate with natural décor, pile cake stands and fill vases with fir cones, tangerines with cloves and rosy red apples.

Loch Lomond & The Trossachs
National Park
While the mountains are there for the
experienced, you’ll find loads more places
that everyone can enjoy throughout the
winter.
The new footbridge over the spectacular
Bracklinn Falls is a short walk from the centre
of Callander. Or the nearby Glen Finglas has several great woodland trails.
Follow in the footsteps of writers and artists like Sir Walter Scott and John
Ruskin - look out for the Great Trossachs Forests’ panels at Brig O’Turk, Loch
Katrine and Inversnaid. Or try the Millennium Forest path at Balmaha, which
leads through soft woodland to breathtaking views of Loch Lomond.
Winter cycling is also rewarding. Vistas across hills and lochs open up at every
turn on the National Cycle route 7 as it crosses the full length of the Park.
