SCHEU Full Version Product
Obligation based on tradition Dear reader, The name SCHEU has been a byword for top quality for more than 80 years. Now in its third generation, our family business supplies a wide range of products and services in the fields of orthodontics, pressure mouldung technique and dental sleep medicine. We have established ourselves as specialists on the market – Christian Scheu, managing director since 1991 and not only here in Germany, but in over 100 other countries, too. As well as incorporating tried and proven orthodontic products, some of which were developed by my grandfather and the company's founder Rudolf Scheu, our range primarily features high-end innovations. Our major focus is on the needs and wishes of our customers. I am therefore particularly pleased to be able to present to you our new and even more attractive product range: At the end of 2006 the SCHEU Group was expanded by the acquisition of the Düsseldorf-based orthodontics specialist Smile-Dental GmbH. This has enabled us to extend our orthodontic range to include fixed treatment. Top quality is our primary goal, and we achieve it on a daily basis with the help of our workforce of 65 based at our Iserlohn facility. We believe in continuity, not just in terms of the management, which has been in family hands for 80 years, but also with regard to our most valuable asset: our employees. Many of them have been with us for decades. Only our highly motivated and well trained team enables us to deliver top quality on a day-to-day basis and offer attractive products that faciliate your working life. See for yourself, by checking out our latest catalogue. Or contact us directly. We will be glad to listen to your ideas and suggestions and to provide you with the appropriate help and advice whenever you need it. Best regards, Christian Scheu 1926 – 2009 Cold moulding instead of soldering was the idea which enabled dentist Rudolf Scheu to optimise the production of clasps and, in 1926, led to the foundation of the Wittmer & Scheu company in Hagen, in partnership with Ewald Wittmer. Business with the single-piece clasps had been good from the very beginning, but was unfortunately interrupted by the Second World War. However, immediately after the end of the war Scheu and Wittmer relaunched their business and their success story resumed. By this time Rudolf Scheu had also qualified as a dentist. And he had also made a name for himself as an author of books on prosthetics. After his partner Ewald Wittmer had left the firm in 1954, Rudolf Scheu took over sole management of the business, now named SCHEU-DENTAL. From the late 1950s onwards the young company's product portfolio was continually expanded, initially with new removable orthodontic articles, such as the renowned SCHEU anchor. At the end of the 1960s the founder's son, business graduate Rolf Scheu, took over the company. Under his management the second largest area of business, pressure moulding technique, was developed, and was steadily expanded by the various generations of the BIOSTAR® and later the MINISTAR®. Yesterday, today, tomorrow Today the long-established company is in the hands of the third generation, in the person of Christian Scheu. Under his leadership, innovative dental sleep medicine was added to the range to establish a third major pillar of the business. And it was also him, who oversaw the latest expansion of the SCHEU product family into fixed treatment articles, with the acquisition of orthodontics specialist Smile-Dental GmbH in late 2006. As a result, SCHEU-DENTAL will be able to offer an even wider range of products in future. SCHEU-DENTAL has been at its current location in Iserlohn since 1964. The facility has been extended twice, and another redevelopment project is in the pipeline. Today 65 people work at the Iserlohn site, in a wide variety of trades and professions: dental technicians, electricians, engineers, technical draughtsmen, toolmakers, fitters and administrative staff – all giving their best every day of the week. The team also gathers new ideas and know-how by working together with external consultants from the fields of dental medicine and materials science. The future starts now Innovation and quality Equipment and accessories for pressure moulding technique, clasps, wires and screws for orthodontics, or rails and treatment units for dental sleep medicine: the SCHEU product family is very wideranging. From the SCHEU anchor to the fifth generation of the BIOSTAR®, it skilfully combines the tried and proven with the highly innovative. All SCHEU products are manufactured in Iserlohn, and only a small number of them can be produced completely by machine. "People mould things" is applied literally, and hand-crafting is a key element in achieving the high levels of product quality. "Many geometries are so complex that the precision work can really In developing new, high-quality products only be done manually", explains the SCHEU team works closely with Christian Scheu. That is the only way to universities and research bodies. The ensure such high quality, accompanied management also takes the suggestions by routine product monitoring. All the submitted by its own employees very company's employees are aware of the seriously. And the company's close highly challenging nature of their work, relationship with its customers also and they respond to those challenges regularly generates new ideas. every day. Solid evidence of the particularly high quality of SCHEU products is furnished by the first BIOSTAR® units, some of which have already been working perfectly for more than 40 years on. Quality management has been a major area of focus at SCHEU since well before it was laid down as mandatory in the EU Medical Products Directive. As far back as 1996 – two years earlier than required – SCHEU became one of the first dental companies in Germany to certify its operations. Since then, external auditors have visited Iserlohn every year to inspect the high standards of production and verify the level of quality maintained by the company as a whole. The services offered by SCHEU-DENTAL also include an extensive range of training courses from which you can learn more about the latest innovative products and new techniques. We have been holding these courses on a regular basis for a number of years, featuring inhouse or external tutors. Whether the Workshop "Pressure Moulding Technique", "CMD Therapy" or "Dental Sleep Medicine" – what all the courses have in common is above all their direct link to actual practice. And the concept is a success – as proven by the many satisfied participants over the years. At the recent course on the "TAP®" rail we welcomed our 1000th course participant. From person to person Communication is everything And anyone who still has any queries or problems can simply contact the SCHEU team directly: Our comprehensive internal training system ensures that all our staff are able to provide you with the expert advice and assistance you need at all times. That is a special concern for Christian Scheu: "It is of particular importance to us that all our employees – wherever they work – have detailed knowledge of our products." To ensure SCHEU products arrive safely at their practice or laboratory destinations, they are carefully packed by the warehouse staff and dispatched to more than 100 different countries. Rudolf Scheu made the first business contacts outside Germany way back in the 1950s, and they have since been continuously enhanced to create a truly international sales and distribution network. Nowadays 65 % of SCHEU products are exported. Equipment such as the BIOSTAR® is installed and commissioned into operation by field sales staff and sales agents in person, thereby providing you with a direct, personalised introduction to the product.
