THE ART OF SHOTMAKING
The MP-4 is the purest of forged muscle backs for shotmakers
seeking the ultimate control over their ball flight.
forgiveness
A longer, softer sense of impact results from the
MP-4’s bulging muscle design that extends higher
up the clubface – enhancing the renowned feel of
its Grain Flow Forged construction. The muscle
bulge is most prominent in the scoring irons and
reduces down through to the slender long irons
– where design emphasis is placed on creating a
quick launch and steeper landing angle.
Uniquely, the MP-4’s final profile was created
through a combination of CAD design and
traditional craftsmanship. Mizuno’s long standing
team of master club grinders made minor
adjustments by eye to every CAD generated
clubhead through the set – before creating
MP-4’s master forging moulds.

The Channel Back concept was refined through a harmonisation of CAD design and
traditional Japanese craftsmanship. Pro to low single figure handicaps recommended.

produce beautiful irons that play a lot
more forgiving than you would imagine

Forgiveness without sacrifice – the MP-15 embodies
the definitive balance of tradition and technology for
the stronger ball striker.

At address the MP-15 appears every inch the
classic Mizuno MP iron – compact with clean lines,
designed to enhance both feel and workability.
Forged directly inside the 1025E steel framework
is a re-engineered Titanium Muscle insert, which
maintains thickness behind impact for solid
feel, while allowing weight to be shifted to the
perimeter to provide “full cavity” forgiveness.
The MP-15’s refined Ti Muscle weighs just
10 grams (replacing 38 grams of steel) – yet its
increased curvature and thickness ensure that feel
is not sacrificed to achieve off centre stability. A
reworked steel framework also ensures that the
body and insert work as one to maintain solidity
at impact.
The playing profile and head-size of the MP-15 is
based on the classic MP-64 – with 10% greater
forgiveness created through the use of the Ti
insert. As the Ti insert is engineered to create off
centre stability rather than launch forgiveness,
trajectory is comparable to Mizuno’s more
traditional tour irons.

BORON FUEL INJECTED
A stunning tour inspired design with an injection of Boron for added ball speed and
distance. The MP-25 is the first true high ball-speed iron, Grain Flow Forged for the feel
and touch indispensable on tour. For tour players to low/mid handicaps.
We started off with a tour preferred
chassis, and developed our technology
to get the most ball speed from that
size. The craftsmen at Yoro Japan kept
the CAD engineers on a tight leash, so
the final iron was something we could
confidently show our tour players. The
use of Boron infused steel made it
possible for us to add ball speed, but
keep all the traits/qualities that Mizuno
players love.

A new type of players iron for the tougher,
modern course layout.

The ‘hollow flow’ concept is a response to the
demands of modern golf courses – with longer
approaches to tighter pin positions on firm
greens. Tour players looking for more vertical
landing angles have instigated the move into
forgiving equipment tailored to suit a more
critical eye.
Refined from the long iron replacements (MP
Fli-Hi) established on tour by Luke Donald,
the MP-H5 pushes the concept further with a
complete flow of hollow and part hollow irons
(from 1 iron to PW). By progressing into a
full set, the MP-H5 ensures a smooth flow of
trajectory, feel and distance control.
The MP-H5 achieves its launch forgiveness
while keeping a neat top line and minimal
offset – which taper down to relatively
compact scoring irons.
The overall MP iron proportions are kept
intact, so that a players eye quickly adapts
to the slightly increased size.
The MP-H5 can be played as an entire set
or blended at any point with more traditional
mid/short irons.

A refined teardrop profile – based on the tour
grind of short game magician Luke Donald, allows
mastery of the ball from a variety of set ups and
positions. There are now 25 combinations of loft
and bounce – with 2 sole types to suit varying
techniques and turf conditions.
Mizuno’s Grain Flow Forged heads combine the
softest touch with a backspin rate only possible
through the use of loft specific grooves. Mizuno’s
Quad Cut Groove concept utilises a wider, shallow
groove from 54-62 lofts (to grab softer, partial
strikes) and a narrower, deeper configuration
from 49-53 degrees (for fuller shots). All grooves
are precision CNC milled to ensure exact
manufacturing consistency from wedge to wedge.
A new lush Black IP (plated) finish is designed to
maintain its looks over time. The alternative white
satin finish is also permanent and the ultimate
glare resistant option.

SPIN A LITTLE BLUE MAGIC
An enticing midsize profile, with sharply visible sole grinds for imagination and creativity
around the green. First in play with short game master Luke Donald at the 2015 BMW
PGA Championship, Wentworth. Suits players from pro to mid handicap.
These are more of a mid-size profile,
so there’s a lot more clubface for fuller
shots. Less intimidating when you’re
faced with 95 yards off a less than
perfect lie. They went straight into
Luke Donald’s bag in May 2015,
which suggests we did a pretty
good job with the sole grinds and
versatility round the greens.

NEXT GENERATION FAST TRACK
JPX-850 DRIVER
In 2007 Mizuno introduced a sliding weight system called Fast Track – to alter a driver’s
draw/fade tendency. Mizuno has now evolved this breakthrough technology to also be
able to customise spin rate and launch angle in the JPX-850 – helping all swing speeds
achieve maximum possible total yardage.
The piercing blue JPX-850, first seen on tour in
April 2014, uses twin 8 gram weights which can
be located on either the central sliding rail, or two
lateral slots. With 10 unique settings, players of
all head speeds can dial in their perfect launch
and spin.
In combination with Mizuno’s Quick Switch shaft
release system, the JPX-850 also offers lofts
from 7.5 to 11.5 within one head for the ultimate
in adjustability.
The JPX-850 head is a compact, powerful 440cc
and utilises a Hot Metal face and Rebound Crown
to maximise ball speeds.

additional mass also lowers the head’s centre of
gravity, maintaining high ball speeds directly off
the turf.
There is a 4 degree range of loft adjustment
possible within each fairway head (3/5/7)

ADJUST YOUR EXPECTATIONS
The JPX EZ is a large footprint, high launching, low spinning driver that is also adjustable
– and was introduced on tour by Luke Donald at the 2015 BMW Championships at
Wentworth GC. Previous moveable weight drivers have generally been difficult to hit (due
to weight used for additional tracks and weight ports). The JPX EZ changes everything
with a simple 3 weight system and forgiveness levels normal of non-adjustable models.
With the JPX EZ we now have a second
adjustable driver option for players with
either a little less ball speed or those who
want a bit more stability from off centre
strikes. It’s not a case of ability – we
have professionals like Luke Donald and
Daan Huizing who have put the JPX EZ
into play on tour. Luke Donald felt more

thickness face, the long and mid irons are as forgiving and easy to launch as anything we’ve tested.
BALL SPEEDS OFF THE CHARTS (OR AT LEAST ON THE EDGE): A raft of new technologies – including a
dual pocket cavity (that makes the face flex right to its edges), make the EZ by far the highest COR measured
iron (at 0.85) that we’ve found.
DISTANCE IRONS WITH REAL FEEL: If we lied, you might think these irons were forged. A multi thickness

THE 8 IRON ISN’T ACTUALLY A 7 IRON: Although we’ve maxed out on every available technology to increase

Dubbed ‘the ball that loves to spin’ on its introduction the MP-S is Mizuno’s
softest, most responsive ball. The 2015 edition maintains that trait, whilst
adding the dimension of increased long game distance.
Featuring a larger inner core and thinner urethane cover, the 2015 MP-S
adds yards to the long game of mid/high swing speeds. The cover thickness
is reduced to just 0.5mm, increasing velocity from the tee, while a 330

The ‘Dimple-Cluster’ design of the new JPX is a result of a 3 year study
into the descent phase of ball flight. In tandem with the University of Osaka,
Mizuno’s ball engineers found that by focusing on dimple performance in the
‘descent phase’, they could effectively extend airtime and overall distance.
Mizuno has announced an MP-X ball to accompany the more responsive
MP-S model for 2015.
The smaller, micro-dimples within the JPX’s cluster pattern take effect
at slower speeds – as the ball transitions to descent. With the added
dimension of descent performance – the JPX delivers increased yardage in
a soft, responsive package.

Lengths / Swingweights
-F
or most iron models Mizuno offer lighter weight heads which can be used to keep the swing weight to a standard balance
for club lengths up to +1/2" longer. Anything longer than that and the swing weight will increase above the recommended
balance. (As a rough calculation, every extra 1/2" in length will increase the swingweight by 3 balance points).
- Irons can be built from 1" shorter than standard up to a maximum of 2" longer than standard.
- Woods can be built +/- 1" from standard length but the swingweight will increase by 3 points for every +1/2" and reduce by
3 points for every -1/2".
Loft and Lie adjustment
-M
izuno irons can be adjusted to varying degrees depending on model and material type. In some cases, due to the softness of
our forgings, "craftsman's" marks on the hosels may result from bending them to the required loft / lie.
-A
ny adjustment to loft will alter the bounce angle on the sole. Making the loft stronger will increase the offset and reduce the
bounce angle.
For possible adjustments to particular models, please refer to the model page on the website.
- Iron lofts can be adjusted up to 2 degrees stronger than standard (note: making the loft stronger will increase the offset and
reduce the bounce angle of the sole).
- No loft or lie adjustments can be made to drivers or fairway woods.
- No loft angle adjustment is possible for MP-H5, JPX-850, JPX EZ, JPX Wedges, and Hybrid models.
Grips / Grip thickness
- Mizuno fit .580 core grips as standard to all men's steel shafts.
- Grips can be thickened with up to 5 layers of tape (Tour Velvet Midsize is equivalent to about 5 tapes).

6 characters in any one of 12 different colours. Just like Mizuno players Luke Donald and
Chris Wood. Each stamp is a unique mark – perfection in stamp depth and alignment is
