Park Hours:
Valens Conservation Area is open year-round from
sunrise to sunset, closed only for Christmas Day.
Entrance Fees:
Entrance fees are posted in the gatehouse and on coin
operated gates. Winter entrance fees are lower than
summer fees. See gatehouse for rates.
Boat Rentals:
Canoe, row boat and kayak rentals are available late
Spring, Summer and early Fall.

An All-Season Guide
With eight beautiful trails covering 11 km., running
through a variety of habitats, from aromatic Pine forests,
towering Maple stands, teaming wetlands to vast open
fields, you’ll have excellent opportunities to observe
and enjoy nature at its best in any season.
For yor convenience, all trails have been marked with
special logos at strategic locations.
Winter
The Boardwalk Trail
Ski along groomed trails, snowshoe anywhere, skate on
the lake or winter camp... there is plenty to do at Valens
in the winter!
Heated washrooms are available in the picnic pavilion
and in the campgrounds.
Food Concession:
The food concession is open mid-June to Labour Day.
Weather pending.
Fall
Campground Store:
The campground store is open weekends in early
Spring and Fall and daily in the summer.
Camping supplies are available.
Inquiries regarding any of these can be directed by
phone to Valens at 905-525-2183 or 519-621-6029.
Our main trail, The Boardwalk Trail, takes you through
a variety of natural habitats as it skirts around the
lake. A great hike to view different wildlife, from
songbirds to waterfowl to deer. It offers easy skiing in
winter and great hiking at any time of year!
Spring & Summer
A time for rebirth, spring brings new Life. Hike our trails
in the spring and summer and witness this miracle of
nature. Stay for the day or camp for a night - or even a
week...you’re bound to enjoy it!
Fishing is permitted from the 4th Saturday in June until
March 31st. Bait is available for purchase in summer.
Trails
The most colourful time of year, you simply won’t want
to miss it! There is nothing quite like a quiet walk along
our trails on a brisk autumn day - the innumerable
shades of colour will dazzle you as you shuffle noisily
through a growing carpet of leaves. Be sure to bring a
picnic basket along... autumn air always makes you
hungry!
Woodland Walk
This winter-only trail takes you through a mature
woodlot allowing the skier and hiker excellent
opportunity to view the activities of winter bird life.
Pine Lookout
This trail climbs through a Pine plantation to a
Valens Conservation Area
magnificent view of the surrounding countryside. A
perfect spot to watch the sun set, any time of the year!
