All content is copywrite of its owners. © holden.com.au Introduction This step by step booklet will guide you through some of the basic features of the system, which includes: Holden MyLink is the all-new infotainment system which offers technology for your comfort, convenience and safety, all at your fingertips. So what is Holden MyLink? It’s your life simply connected. AUDIO: AM, FM, iPod,® iPhone,® USB, Aux, Bluetooth® Audio PICTURE & MOVIE: view a picture or play a movie PHONE: open the phone menu • 7″ colour touch-screen; • Bluetooth® audio streaming†; • Making or answering calls hands free while driving; SMARTPHONE LINK: access apps such as Stitcher™ SmartRadio • Steering wheel controls to select music, answer and end phone calls and initiate voice control*; • Accessing your contact list without touching your phone†; • Accessing your call history including incoming, outgoing, missed or declined calls†; • Playing music from a USB Flash drive, iPod® and other media sources; • Viewing movies and photo slides; • Storing up to 35 AM/FM radio station favourites. Seek arrows • To tune to a station, touch the below the station ID or to manually tune to a station, touch and hold the Tune arrows. • Touch and hold any of the preset buttons at the bottom of the touch-screen until a confirmation ‘beep’ is heard. 5 AUDIO AUDIO AUDIO Bluetooth® audio streaming • After the Bluetooth® device has been connected to the MyLink system, the music must be played initially from the device. Only then will the music commence playing via Bluetooth.® You should not drive while handling your phone to commence initial music playback. • To select another track, touch the Back icons. Forward or • Touch the Pause icon located at the bottom of the touch-screen to pause the current track. Note: • Ensure that the Bluetooth® device or handset has been paired (follow “Pairing a Bluetooth® handset” instructions on page 12). • From the Home menu, touch Audio. • MyLink touch-screen does not display the music menu when Bluetooth® streaming is in progress. However, Pause, Forward and Back functions can be controlled from the touch-screen. • Touch Source to open the drop down menu. Playing music from a USB flash drive, iPod®, auxiliary input source or other USB source • Touch Bluetooth® from the list displayed. Supported USB Files: • The Bluetooth icon displays when the device is connected. ® • MP3, WMA, OGG, WAV. • Connect the USB Flash Drive, iPod® or other compatible device^ to the USB port located in the upper glove box. • The music menu appears and music will begin to play automatically. 6 7 AUDIO PICTURE & MOVIE Forward or • Touch the on the touch-screen. Note: • An audio device connected to the Auxiliary Input Jack can only be operated by using the device’s controls – not MyLink audio controls. ^iPod,® USB, auxiliary and other device functionality of this infotainment system will depend on the level of compatibility with your device. Watch movies from a USB flash drive Supported Movie files: • AVI, MPG, MP4, DIVX, XVID, WMV. Available Resolutions: • Within 720 x 576 pixels (width x height). • Connect the USB Flash Drive to the USB port located in the upper glove box. • Once the USB Flash Drive is connected, the system will automatically search for compatible file formats. • Depending on its previous setting, the movie or pictures will commence playing automatically. • From the Home menu, touch Picture & Movie. Source at the top of the touch• Touch screen to choose between USB (Picture) or USB (Movie). • Touch USB (Movie). • The movie will commence playing. • When watching movies, touch anywhere on the screen to show navigation and function controls, and touch again to hide these controls. • To scroll through available movie files, touch the Forward or Back icons located on the bottom of the touch-screen. 8 9 PICTURE & MOVIE PICTURE & MOVIE • To view the movie in full screen mode, touch the Full-Screen icon. View pictures from a USB flash drive Supported USB image files: • BMP, PNG, JPG, GIF (animated GIF not supported). • JPG: within 64 to 5000 pixels (width x height). • BMP, PNG, GIF: within 64 to 1024 pixels (width x height). • Some files may not be able to be viewed due to the file format or the condition of the file. • Connect the USB Drive to the USB port located in the upper glove box. • Touch USB (Picture). • When viewing pictures, touch anywhere on the screen to show navigation and function controls, and touch again to hide these controls. • When viewing pictures, touch the icons located at the bottom of the touch-screen that will allow you to view previous picture, view the next picture, zoom in to a picture. rotate a picture and • To start a slide show, touch the Play icon located at the bottom of the touch-screen. Note: • To view Pictures or Movies, vehicle must be in PARK. • Once the device is connected, the system will automatically search for compatible file formats. • Depending on its previous setting, pictures will commence playing automatically. • Touch the Source icon at the top of the touch-screen to choose between USB (Picture) or USB (Movie). 10 11 PHONE PHONE Pairing a Bluetooth® handset • Activate Bluetooth® settings on your phone. • Verify that Bluetooth® is active and select the option that makes the handset “discoverable.” Home menu, touch settings on • From the the touch-screen. • If more than 1 handset is available, system will connect to the first available paired handset based on the order they were paired. 5 different devices may be paired to MyLink but uses only 1 at a time. • iPhone™ users: once your phone is paired, MyLink will automatically download your phonebook to your MyLink system. • Touch connection settings. Making a call • Touch Bluetooth® settings. Touch-screen dialling. • From the • Touch pair device. • Touch search Bluetooth device. ® • Select the Bluetooth® handset to be paired. • A validation key is displayed on your phone and on the MyLink touch-screen. Touch Yes to pair on the touch-screen and handset to complete the pairing process. Home menu, touch the Green Phone icon to dial out or press • Touch the the Call button on the steering wheel. Red Phone • To end or decline a call, touch the icon on the touch-screen or press the End Call button on the steering wheel. Note: • When pairing a compatible handset, the phone and music player functions are paired at the same time. When vehicle is on and Bluetooth® handset is active, MyLink will automatically connect to the handset. 12 Phone icon. • Enter the required number on the touch-screen keypad. 13 PHONE PHONE Using voice control.* Using phone book. • From the Home menu, touch Phone. • Touch Phone Book. • Touch the up/down arrows or touch and slide the scroll button at the right of the touch-screen to display contact names, or; Magnifying Glass icon to search • Touch the the Phone Book for a specific name. • Select characters by touching letters displayed on the keypad. • Touch the contact name from the list displayed on the right hand side of the screen. • Touch the number displayed to dial out. Using call history. • From the • Press and hold the Call button on the steering wheel controls until you hear a confirmation ‘beep’. • Say “Dial” or “Call” plus your desired contact’s name. For example “Call David”. • Alternatively, say “Dial” or “Call” then a phone number. For example “Call 1234 5678”. Receiving a call. • When an external call arrives through MyLink, press the Accept icon on the touch-screen or the Call button on the steering wheel. To reject the call, press the Reject icon on the touch-screen End Call button on the steering wheel. or the *Requires a compatible paired Bluetooth® smartphone with voice control capability. Home menu, touch Phone. • Touch Call History. • Touch the up/down arrows or touch and slide the scroll button at the right of the touch-screen to display contact names, or touch the contact name from the list. Note: • Icons on the left side of the touch-screen indicate incoming calls, outgoing calls and missed or declined calls. Touch the required icon to select the contact from that group. 14 15 SMARTPHONE LINK SMARTPHONE LINK • Next, select the Stitcher,™# icon to view playback options and begin live streaming. Smartphone Link is a function that allows you to access certain smartphone applications via MyLink. Bluetooth® audio streaming makes it possible for you to connect to certain mobile apps such as Stitcher™ Smart Radio.# In 2013, Holden plans to make software available that will enable Barina CDX owners to use Pandora® Internet Radio,# Tune In Radio# and BringGo Navigation^ apps through their vehicle’s MyLink system. For more information, including device compatibility, visit the Owners Info section of holden.com.au for a list of compatible devices. Note: • If more than one web-enabled device is connected to the system—for example, a smartphone via the USB port and a tablet via Bluetooth® when the Stitcher,™# icon is selected, a screen appears that lets customers pick the source they want to use. # Personal mobile phone data plans are used to access these apps. Live streaming from Stitcher™# Note that there’s a special situation for iPhone® and iPod® users. For functionality when listening to Stitcher™# it is necessary to connect through the USB port. Access to Stitcher,™# through AUX or Bluetooth® connections is possible, but some functions will not be available. • Once a compatible Bluetooth® handset or other web-enabled device is paired to the MyLink system, Home menu. press Smartphone Link from the • While the Stitcher,™# icon is embedded in MyLink, customers must download the Stitcher,™# app to their smartphone. If the app is not downloaded to the smartphone, the app will appear greyed out on the touch-screen. # Personal mobile phone data plans are used to access these apps. ^BringGo Navigation app must be purchased separately. 16 17 SETTINGS Setting time & date • From the Home menu, touch settings. • Touch time & date settings. • Touch set time & date. • Touch the up or down arrows on the touch-screen to adjust the values. • Touch OK to confirm the setting. • To go back one step, touch the the top left of the touch-screen. return arrow at • To return to the Home menu, press the Home button on the faceplate. Note: • The time format can be changed from this location by touching either “12h” or “24h” tabs. • The date format can be changed from this location by touching the left or right arrow tabs. 18 19
