THE CONCEPT
The aim of the WARHORSE 427 project is to encompass all the best styling and visual
influences from the great era of the 1960’s Mustangs. WARHORSE 427 is designed
to be retrospective in it’s theme, that is it has been built using influences from the
Mustang factory era, influences such as Shelby influenced one off hand fabricated
quarter windows and our custom made 1969 boss style bonnet scoop. Such external
features set it apart from the crowd as do the era perfect Pit-­‐ stop quarter stripes.
The stripes heritage deeply connected with the Mustangs of the era. The aim has been
to keep the design simple, the design HAD to be timeless, not reflecting trends that
would be outdated by weeks end! WARHORSE 427 has been built for the long haul not
for simply today.
Ziggy’s concept was for all the modified areas of WARHORSE 427 to flow, to build
without drawing attention to the modification and design changes. Therefore it is very
obvious that the degree of difficulty, of this build, far exceeds the imagination and so a
main part of the overall concept of this build is “THE MORE YOU LOOK THE MORE YOU
SEE”.
WARHORSE 427 has street cred….it is raw and tough yet sophisticated in it’s
execution. Keeping true to the design and keeping it simple has been paramount.
For example, the engine has no EFI, simply good old fashioned raw horsepower. This
making it in some ways unique. The low gloss, satin finished approach is all part of
the usable, street able muscle car theme, whilst maintaining thorough attention to the
details.
The classic Mustang represents American muscle car royalty, while this design,
built, piece of automotive art combines factory, hot rod and also current automotive
advances in the one single package.

Ziggy’s re-­created it . . . . . . WARHORSE 427, a street savvy ride was born.

Thedesign and engineering of WARHORSE incorporates an extraordinary number of
innovations, but they are very simple, the essence of great car design. The longer you
look at the car the more of these features and modifications become apparent to you,
remember the “MORE YOU LOOK THE MORE YOU SEE”. The quality of the fit and finish
of WARHORSE makes these times very enjoyable.

Left to right hand drive conversion.

Front Suspension towers reinforced with 10ml plate.

Modification of fenders to accept Ring Bros billet bonnet hinges.

Completely hand made body sills extending bodyline down 40ml further.
Conversion to cable drive wiper system.
Fabrication of push rod throttle system.
Roll cage A pillar forward member intersects with engine bay brace system to share forward load of engine bay.
Front Chassis rails strut rod receiver braces fully seam welded and lead loaded.
Fabrication of custom front inner fender liners to protect and hide plumbing and wiring for road use.
Lower quarters and rear beaver panel, all handmade and also extended down a further 40ml. × Custom tail light surrounds.

Handmade LED tail light lenses.
Cut and tucked rear bumper bar, gapped and surfaced to body.
1965 Shelby inspired handmade rear quarter windows.
All drip rails removed.
Entire roof line sculptured to follow car body lines.
Every panel critiqued and modified to create an overall consistent body gap.
All external glass flush fitted to body.
Custom made one-­o ff front and side glass.
Handmade brass body and glass moulds, all flush fitted.
Hand fabricated functional quarter panel side scoops.
All seams welded and lead loaded.
Custom cal-­s tyle vents with brake, clutch and windscreen bottles hidden within. Entry by push and twist alloy caps.
Mini Cooper driving lights.
One off handmade double skinned bonnet scoop.
Custom cut and tucked front bumper bar.
Hand fabricated front grill and surrounds.
Fully removable radiator support panel.
One off custom made front spoiler.
1969 Mustang rear wing.
Welded and notched engine bay suspension towers.
Handmade firewall and also all panels forward of strut towers.
Engine bay struts tied to internal roll cage for rigidity.
Hand made one off belly pans to help protect hidden lines etc. for road use.
× 6 sheet heat shielding applied to underside of car for heat and sound suppression. Shielding retained by custom brackets.

Entire internals of body shell and interior layered with Dynamat sound control products.

De-burring of engine, manifold and cylinder heads.
Aligning and matching cylinder heads and cylinder block to a consistent fit.
Sand cast valve covers that have been file finished, filled and custom painted.

World Products Man ‘O War 427c.i. Edelbrock single plane hi‐rise manifold.
MSD pro billet distributor with 8.5mm super conductor leads.
6AL ignition system and blaster coil.
System 1 oil filtration system.
Custom alloy radiator with dual 2000cfm thermo fans.
Billet Specialties tru-­t rac serpentine drive system which incorporates power steer, air con and 140 amp billet alternator.
ARP 12 point fasteners used throughout.
Sand cast valve covers that have been file finished, filled and custom painted.
FUEL SYSTEM
Aeromotive fuel system with Holley carburetion featuring dual billet fuel logs and 1000hp billet fuel pump with electronic speed controller.
Ziggy’s made custom 130 litre fuel tank.
Driveline
Tremec TKO 600, 5 speed manual transmission with steel scatter shield.
Alston Chassisworks FAB 9 – 9” diff housing.
Strange tru trac 9” diff centre with Strange SS series 31 spline axles.
Strange billet steel slip-­y oke and tail shaft.
Front Suspension
Adjustable coil over front strut conversion with Total Control pivot ball lower arms and strut rods.
Centre pull power rack and pinion conversion.
Total Control front 1¼” powder coated sway bar with greasable billet mounts.
Rear Suspension
Total Control triangulated pivot ball 4 bar suspension system with Vari-­ Shock coil over double adjustable billet shocks.
Adjustable, Nascar style, splined rear sway bar incorporated into fabricated diff housing.
BRAKES
2009 Shelby Mustang 6 spot Baer brakes mono block system with 13.5” zinc washed rotors and billet hats.
Behind dash hidden master cylinder and booster.
Full Stainless brake lines.
EXHAUST SYSTEM
Ziggy’s custom made exhaust system with Flowmaster 3½” custom mufflers.
Hand sculptured headlining fashioned out of alloy upholstered in stitched leather.
Custom made seats, hand shaped and leather trimmed.
Removal of back seat and conversion to a 2 seater.
Simpson racing harness with rotary buckle.
Ziggy’s custom made electric windows.
Full leather interior.
Entire internals of body shell and interior layered with Dynamat sound control products.
Integral roll cage to enhance body rigidity.
AUDIO

1 of ZX5 channel amp with remote bass control
2 of 10” solo-Barlic L5 square sub woofers in Ziggy’s built sub woofer box
4 of 65.5 6.5” mids and tweets in a custom made Ziggy’s box.
CLARION :
Marine drop down face head unit with built in CD player, I Pod compatible, blue tooth.
MP3, stainless steel chassis in a waterproof surround hidden in vehicle.

All internal fitments handmade.
Custom made and personalized Ziggy’s gauges.
