Get to know your combo
The Stamps.com combo printer is both a digital scale and a direct thermal NetStamps
printer, fully integrated with Stamps.com software. The scale weighs items up to
10 pounds and automatically communicates the weight to the Stamps.com software.
The direct thermal printer never needs toner, ink, or ribbons, just NetStamps label rolls.
The function and ENTER buttons on the front panel let you print NetStamps labels
directly from the combo printer. The function buttons correspond to the Favorites
feature in the Stamps.com software, which automatically sets the quantity and much
more. Once you’ve set your Favorites and assigned them to your function buttons,
simply select the function button with the setting you wish to use then press the
ENTER button. Your NetStamps label will print automatically.

Install Stamps.com application
The combo printer is designed to be used with version 7.5 or later of the Stamps.com
software. The combo printer cannot currently be used to print postage from the
Stamps.com website. If you recently registered with Stamps.com (or recently updated
to version 7.5 or later), you can skip this step.
Otherwise, you will need to install Stamps.com software using one of two methods:
Method 1: download the latest version from www.stamps.com/download, or
Method 2: install using the included CD-ROM
DO NOT USE THE UPDATE FUNCTION IN THE CLIENT
To install using the included CD-ROM:
1. Insert the CD-ROM into your optical disk drive. If installation does not begin automatically, open Windows Explorer, navigate to and double-click the optical
disk drive icon, and then double-click “setup” to start the installation.
2. When the installation wizard opens, select “Install Stamps.com.”
3. Follow the onscreen instructions for installing the software. If you have not
already signed up for the Stamps.com service, you can do so when you launch the Stamps.com software. From the Stamps.com Login dialog box, click the Username drop-down list and select “<More>”. Then click “Sign Up for a New Account” and follow the onscreen instructions for setting up your Stamps.com account.
Set up the combo printer
1. Attach the power cable to the power adapter.
2. Plug the power adapter into the DC power connector on the back of the combo printer. Plug the other end of the power cable into a power outlet.
3. Connect the scale to the computer by attaching the “A” end of the USB cable
to your computer and the “B” end of the USB cable to the scale.

4. Turn the scale on using the on/off switch on the back of the scale. A blue LED light on the front of the scale will light up (if the front panel is open, the ENTER button will be lit). You will see a series of messages on your computer screen that indicate the combo printer has been detected by your computer. The “Found New Hardware” wizard will launch automatically to install the printer driver.

Note:
If you do not have the CD-ROM, download the driver software from www.stamps.com/support.
Load NetStamps label roll
A NetStamps label roll comes with the combo printer. To load the roll into the
printer, do the following:
1. Open the top lid of the scale and raise the print arm using the tabs.
2. Remove the plastic wrapping around your label roll and then carefully remove
the adhesive tab holding the label roll together. This white adhesive tab must be
completely removed before using the roll because the printer will not be able to
print over the white tab.
3. At the start of each roll there are two labels numbered “XXXXXXXXXX” (see page 8).
These are alignment aids and should not be printed on. The third label will contain
a 5-digit serial number starting with “S”, followed by a 3-digit number“.199”. For
example, the serial number of “S12345.199” is “S12345”.
4. Note the serial number of your roll. You will have to enter this number in the
software to begin printing NetStamps with the scale printer.
5. Roll up any slack in the label roll that occurred in handling the roll. Excess slack
inside the printer can cause the label roll to jam.

Note:
To purchase additional NetStamps label rolls, go to store.stamps.com and click the “NetStamps” link.

6. Place the roll between the two vertical guides sticking up from the bottom
of the printer. The labels coming off the roll should face upwards.
7. Pull the label roll so that one or two labels extend past the cutoff blade.
8. Hold the end of the roll with one hand and lower the print arm with the
other hand.
9. Close the top lid of the scale. The label roll will automatically advance to the next label. If the scale is not connected to a computer, the labels will not automatically advance until the scale is connected to a computer.
10. If only one XXXXXXXXXX label is ejected when you close the lid, simply raise the lid and lower it again to advance past the second XXXXXXXXXX stamp. The first NetStamp label will now be in position for printing and you can begin using your Stamps.com software.
About NetStamps Rolls
Each Original NetStamps Label Roll of 200 NetStamps actually contains 207 labels:
2 XXXXXXXXXX labels at the start
200 NetStamps numbered from S_____.199 down to S_____.000 where the _____
indicates the serial number of the roll, and the countdown indicates the number of
available NetStamps remaining on the roll
5 XXXXXXXXXX labels at the end
The XXXXXXXXXX labels at the start and end of each roll are alignment aids and
should not be used to print postage. If you print postage onto an XXXXXXXXXX label
by accident, you should use the “reprint” functionality in the Stamps.com software.
Create favorites
Works with Stamps.com software only – not available through the website.
To print using the combo printer function buttons, you will first need to create at least
one Favorite that includes your postage settings. This section guides you through the
most common Favorite, which prints a single NetStamps label at the First Class Mail
letter rate. You can later create as many Favorites as you want.
1. Launch the Stamps.com software if it is not already running.
2. In the left navigation bar of the Stamps.com software, click on the stamps tab.
3. Select the I want the value for each stamp to be calculated option.
4. In the Mailpiece drop-down list, select Letters, and in the Mail Class box,
select First-Class Mail.
5. Select the “auto” checkbox next to “Weigh”.
6. In the Print Details section, enter the serial number of the label roll, which is found
on any label on the roll.
7. In the menu bar, choose Favorites > Add to Favorites.
8. Specify a descriptive name for your favorite, such as “First-Class Letter NetStamps”,
and click Save.
Assign Favorites to Buttons
Works with Stamps.com software only – not available through the website.
Now that you have created a Favorite, you need to assign
it to a scale function button (F1, F2, or F3).
1. From the menu bar, choose Favorites > Program
Scale Button. The Favorites Shortcuts dialog box opens.
2. Select the Favorite you just created from the drop-down
list next to the button you want to assign it to.
3. Select the AutoPrint checkbox. The Set Printer dialog box opens.
4. From the Name drop-down list, select “Stamps.com c210 Printer Scale”.
5. Click Save, then Close. This setup enables the postage to be printed automatically,
without your having to interact with the Stamps.com software (the software must
be running).
6. On one of the included stickers, write down the description of the Favorite
next to the function button that it is assigned to. Place the sticker below the
LCD display on the scale.
7. Place your mailpiece on the scale.
8. Press the function button that you just assigned so that the blue backlight is
illuminated.
9. Press the ENTER button on the scale. Your postage will print.
What if I see “PAPER” on the combo printer display?
If the front panel buttons on the combo printer are flashing and you see “PAPER”
on the display, there may be no label roll inside the printer, or the labels may not
be properly aligned. Reload the label roll, load a new one, or open and close the
top lid and print arm.
What if the scale is not responding?
Your combo printer may not be properly connected. Turn the combo printer off.
Ensure that the power adapter is properly plugged into both the combo printer
and a working outlet, and ensure the USB cable is properly plugged into both the
combo printer and your computer. Turn the combo printer on again.
