Heat Trace Website article: Dee 106.3 Local Hero Awards In the year of its 40th birthday Heat Trace has won yet another award, this time in recognition for our contribution to the local community. At Chester’s respected Dee 106.3 Local Hero Awards Heat Trace won the community business of the year award. The awards recognise and celebrate individuals and organisations which have made a significant contribution to the local community and/or have demonstrated courage in the face of adversity. There is only one award for businesses and that went to Heat Trace Heat Trace was nominated by Chester West and Chester Council for our contributions in the field of youth skills and employment. We operate an award winning apprenticeship scheme and have proactively developed a strong relationship with the local high school to promote apprenticeships and provide work experience and employment skills to students. Shaun Bailiff (former Apprentice) with MD Dan Berrisford We also provide funding and collecting the award for Heat Trace Ltd. expertise to help with an engineering project at another local school and take an active role in encouraging other local businesses to form similar links with schools and FE colleges. Winning the award was a fantastic surprise. It was an honour to attend the evening to collect the award and to hear about the courage and achievements of the other award winners. At Heat Trace we think it is an obligation to put something back into our local community and we are passionate about giving local young people the best chance possible to get a satisfying and rewarding job once they leave education. We don’t do it to win awards but it is always great to be recognised for what you do and it is definitely an achievement that makes all at Heat Trace very proud.
