2016 TEDDERS 2016 TEDDERS Haying in high moisture climates? With above normal rainfall? Or, just trying to close the gap between THE HOOK TINE ADVANTAGE Below: Clean crop pick up. Excellent ground-contouring. Vermeer hook tines are better able to adapt and follow the ground because they operate in a trailed position, picking up and turning the crop – short or long – cutting and baling to shorten drying times and reduce while avoiding crop contamination from excessive digging. This unique nutritional losses in your downed hay and forage? design allows you to more effectively hit the low spots between rotors. Check out the Vermeer TE-series tedders with their patented hook tine design. Why hook tine tedders? TE-series hook tine tedders offer three important benefits – high-performance 2 tedding action, high-volume output and outstanding durability. Because of the unique configuration and the special angle of the hook tine, Vermeer TE-series tedders pick up and spread larger amounts of crop than conventional tedders with straight tines and they create an unprecedented “bottoms-up” tedding action that rotates the hay for better dry down consistency. And it’s all handled by a tine that’s considerably more flexible 3 and specially positioned to handle higher speeds and output with minimal tine damage. 2 Hook tines are built to last and are the only ones in the field today with a 3-year limited warranty. The specially coiled hook tine design is more flexible, and because it rotates at a trailed angle, tine breakage is minimized. 3 The hook gives you better grip of the crop. It allows you to decrease RPMs and minimize leaf loss while still dispersing the crop evenly for more consistent dry down. Even the wet, lumpy 1 Tedding along fence rows and field edges? No problem. With a simple adjustment hay is gently separated. The shorter leg of the double tine picks up drier crop material off the clip, you can easily set the tines in two different positions – the “outer” setting for 1 Inner Setting 2|2016 TEDDERS surface as the longer leg picks up the lower and wetter material. This allows you to flip wet spreading and tedding, or the “inner” setting, which feeds crop directly behind the machine (not to the sides) for work alongside fence rows, hedges and ditches. Outer Setting HOOK TINE WARRANTY material on top instead of blending it together. It’s simply the best way to maintain excellent forage quality. 2016 TEDDERS |3 Up to 49 ft (15 m) in one pass! The giant TE490 is designed for big acres, big operators and maximum TE490 TE-SERIES TEDDERS efficiency. That means fewer passes through the field, lower fuel costs and more acres. And you’re able to do it in less time with a high-production 12-rotor workhorse that handles like other tedders half its size. And it’s easy 2 3 to transport from field to field. Unique carted framework and the front-folding rotors along the drawbar provide fast folding/unfolding and stable transport with a low transport height and center of gravity. 4 5 2 TE-series tedders provide curved wheel supports and an anti-wrap plate that combine to help prevent downed crop material from wrapping around wheels. This minimizes buildup and damage to wheels and bearings caused by tightly wrapped crops. 3 Easily adjust rotor angle in seconds using an integrated handle. This allows you to maximize the sweeping arc on the ground and precisely handle different crops and field conditions. Heavy, wet swaths require a steeper angle; shorter and drier crops, a lower angle. 4 Great stability and flex. Rugged frame construction provides the stability. Cut-out clutch provides drive component protection. Rotors hydraulically lift when folding for transport. 5 1 Large diameter rotors allow you to operate with lower revolution speeds. This not only 1 4|2016 Go from transport to operating position in less than one minute. Unfold the 49 ft (15 m) TE490 from its transport width of 9.8 ft (3 m) without needing a monitor. Just two sets of hydraulic helps prevent crop loss, but it also allows longer grasses and heavier lumps to separate remotes are needed to fold and unfold the tedder. Note how the entire rotor frame is placed in and fan out more evenly. Rotor wheels float independently to maintain consistent tedding a horizontal position and supported during transport. angles/heights. Available on TE170, TE250, TE330 and TE490 models. TEDDERS 2016 TEDDERS |5 The exclusive hook tine is just one of several major advantages. Another one is the way Vermeer TE- TE330/TE250/TE170 TE-SERIES TEDDERS series tedders handle! Wide-angle universal joints at frame pivot points allow flex along the entire driveline. Hydraulic lift, fold and unfold make it simple and easy to operate – and help reduce transport widths to less than 10 ft (3 m) wide. Constant velocity u-joints make tight turns possible. 1 And, you have three additional models to choose from: TE330 with eight rotors – 33.5 ft (10.2 m) tedding width. TE250 with six rotors – 25 ft (7.6 m) tedding width. TE170 with four rotors – 17 ft (5.2 m) tedding width. 2 1 The 4-rotor TE170 is ideal for smaller operations. During operation, its low center of gravity provides excellent stability, particularly on slopes. Vertical hydraulic fold makes it quick and easy to transport. 2 The 6-rotor TE250 – with up to 25 ft (7.6 m) of tedding action – is fast, simple, compact and ideal for mid-size operations. During transport, the front-folding rotor frame is positioned horizontally along the drawbar, locked and supported. Dedicated transport tires and cart make it easy and stable for towing. 6|2016 TEDDERS 2016 TEDDERS |7 Ideal for smaller operations, the Rebel TR90 tedder/ rake combo is easy to operate and set up. A simple REBEL TR90 TEDDER/RAKE COMBO ® adjustment clip lets you reposition the hook tines and switch from spreading and tedding (outer position) to windrowing (inner position) in minutes. Spreading and tedding angles/height are easily adjusted by selecting any one of five settings on the rotor wheels and infinitely adjusting the top link. Choose your combination: Spreading swaths (1), tedding (2), spreading windrows (3), windrowing (4), shifting swaths or windrows across (5). 1 Spreading swaths (1), tedding (2), spreading windrows (3), windrowing (4), shifting swaths or windrows across (5). 1 With new automatic field transport locks, operators can engage and disengage the transport lock without leaving the tractor. The field transport locks will automatically lock when folding in, and can be dis-engaged by pulling a rope from the tractor seat. 8|2016 TEDDERS 2016 TEDDERS |9 POST-SEASON MAINTENANCE T ED D E R SPE C I FI CATIO NS DIMENSIONS AND WEIGHTS TE490 TE330 TE250 TE170 TR90 Tedding width 49.2 ft (15 m) 33.5 ft (10.2 m) 25 ft (7.6 m) 17 ft (5.2 m) 9.8 ft (3 m) Transport height 9.5 ft (2.9 m) 9.5 ft (2.9 m) 9 ft (2.7 m) 8.5 ft (2.6 m) 8.5 ft (2.6 m) Transport width 9.8 ft (3 m) 9.8 ft (3 m) 9.8 ft (3 m) 9 ft (2.7 m) 8.3 ft (2.5 m) Transport length 20.7 ft (6.3 m) 18.9 ft (5.8 m) 15.2 ft (4.6 m) NA 8.5 ft (2.6 m) Total weight 7740 lbs (3511 kg) 5260 lbs (2386 kg) 3200 lbs (1451 kg) 1410 lbs (640 kg) 730 lbs (331 kg) Tire size 16 x 6.5-8 - 6-Ply 16 x 6.5-8 - 6-Ply 16 x 6.5-8 - 6-Ply 16 x 6.5-8 - 6-Ply 16 x 6.5-8 - 6-Ply Transport tire size 15 x 55-17 - 10-Ply 10 x 75-15.3 - 10-Ply 10 x 75-15.3 - 10-ply NA NA Transportation type Carted on transport wheels Carted on transport wheels Carted on transport wheels Transported on rotor wheels Transported on rotor wheels Basket height adjustment 5 position on the basket wheel 5 position on the basket wheel 5 position on the basket wheel 5 position on the basket wheel 5 position on the basket wheel Rotor angle range 10-17° 10-17° 10-17° 10-17° 7-17° Rotor angle adjusment style Adjustable screw Adjustable by changing wheel frame/main frame mount Adjustable by changing wheel frame/main frame mount Standard hydraulic tilt cylinder Infinitely adjustable via top link on tractor Number of rotors 12 8 6 4 2 Tine arms per rotor 7 7 6 6 8 Type of tine Hook tine Hook tine Hook tine Hook tine Hook tine Torque protection - driveline Cut-out clutch Radial pin clutch Radial pin clutch Radial pin clutch NA Operating speed - maximum 9.3 mph (15 km/h) 9.3 mph (15 km/h) 9.3 mph (15 km/h) 9.3 mph (15 km/h) 9.3 mph (15 km/h) Horsepower requirements 100 hp (75 kW) 60 hp (45 kW) 47 hp (35 kW) 34 hp (25 kW) 25 hp (19 kW) Hydraulic requirements 2 - Double acting 2 - Double acting 1 - Double acting 2 - Double acting NA Hydraulic pressure 2300 psi (159 bar) 2100 psi (145 bar) 2200 psi (152 bar) 2100 psi (145 bar) NA Hook up Drawbar (1.25 in pin diameter) Drawbar Drawbar Drawbar Category II 3pt hitch Drive 540 rpm 540 rpm 540 rpm 540 rpm 540 rpm We know that you count on your equipment to perform day in and day out.
