Can Think Of In Record Time. We Rely On Outside
Sportogo Inc is a California corporation established in 1996 and run by company President, and internationally-known product designer, Rod Blair. We specialize in custom design and manufacturing of products for the rental, trade show, advertising, and architectural markets primarily at our facility in Bakersfield, California. Sportogo Inc has many different services located on site that allow us to design, develop, and manufacture almost anything you can think of in record time. We rely on outside companies and contractors as little as possible to control costs and insure the highest quality and fastest manufacturing possible. On site currently we have the following abilities: •Full design staff of electrical, mechanical, and industrial engineers headed by Rod Blair. •Large-scale industrial fabric cutting. •Large-scale industrial sewing (single stitch, double stitch, and over lock stitching) •Industrial-level laser capable of cutting several hundred parts an hour out of acrylic, wood, and most metals to a precision of millimeters. •Laser etching of most materials including tile, glass, acrylic, metal, and even wood. •Vinyl welding and painting •Mechanical tube-bending •Full-service welding of all metals including specialty metals such as titanium All of the above in-house services have enabled Sportogo to design and make prototypes and specialty projects like what you will see on the following pages in a matter of days or a few weeks as opposed to the weeks or months that other companies will take. Our fast turn-around times and quality work is why companies such as Google, Nike, Fruitopia, Johnsonville Brat, Sony Ericsson, Remax, Tecate, McDonald’s, the Davis Cup, ESPN, Vodafone, and the Verb governmental national exercise campaign have come to us first for their custom manufacturing needs. We have also made props for movies such as Kicking and Screaming, John Tucker Must Die, and Mister Magorium’s Wonder Emporium as well as for TV shows such as The Amazing Race, MTV’s Real World/Road Rules, House, Wipeout, Ripley’s Believe it or Not, and Dateline NBC. There is no other company available who has such a unique collection of resources in house at your disposal and we at Sportogo Inc cannot wait to put these services and our expertise to work for you to create that one idea that will make your marketing campaign or movie stand out. You will see examples of sealed air inflatables (like parade balloons), cold air inflatables (like bounce houses), and inflatables made out of our own two layer inflatable construction method. No matter what your vision there is almost nothing inflatable that we cannot make. 17-foot cold air basketball for the Bakersfield Jam developmental league basketball team 8-Foot balls with faces for Friends With You’s interactive art piece Cloud City in 2005 during Art Basel Miami Rotating mobile for Friends With You’s art piece called Dream Maker that was installed at the Indianapolis Museum of Art in 2008. This mobile has a span of over 45 feet in diameter! The six cold-air monkeys on this page were made for graphic designer Stefan Sagmeister as part of his “Things I Have Learned in My Life So Far” series of art projects. One monkey was placed in each of the six cities in Scotland and the meaning of the sentence was only clear if you visited all six cities or saw the monkeys combined by the media. Dundee Inverness Edinburgh Glasgow Stirling Aberdeen This bounce house and the balls inside were made from original drawings by Friends With You for 944 Magazine’s 3rd anniversary party at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas in July of 2008. You will see projects made in wood, metal, foam, and just about every other type of material we could get our hands on. Graphic designer Stefan Sagmeister contracted us to make a table that could be lit from the bottom as part of his ongoing series entitled “Things I Have Learned in my Life So Far”. Martini glasses were stacked in rows three high that spelled out the words “Low Expectations” and filled with punch. The stirring sticks had the balance of his message “Are a Good Strategy”. The words Low Expectations were drank away during the evening while pictures were shot overhead and displayed around the room. 8-Foot preying mantis made from steel. 8-Foot foam and steel golf ball wired into a junked out car. Made for the PGA Tour Superstore. The car and ball were placed on a flatbed truck and driven around Phoenix for a month. 14-foot tall block room with locked door. This was used for storing trade show samples and leads. Giant tennis rackets (68” high) This is a 30-foot tall BBQ grill made for Johnsonville Brat. The idea was to celebrate daylight savings time by dropping a giant Johnsonville Brat on top of a giant grill. Both the brat and grill were designed, made, transported and installed onsite in Chicago within a 5week period. Functioning light pole with a 7-foot tennis ball made of foam and metal embedded in the middle. This was made for Sony Ericsson to announce their sponsorship of the tennis tournament in Miami, FL..
