The machine allows adjustmentof the pay out percentageaccording to
individual requirement. A combined stake and percentagekey board is
fitted on the top right hand side of the cabinet, and includes a D-type
socket to receive one of a number of percentageand stake keys" All
percentagekeys display the key percentageand use a standard colour
casingcorrespondingto the percentagekey setting. The different keys and
associatedMaygay part numbersare listedbelow.
A single site machine is adjustable only using the percentage key.
However, an Arcade machine requires a different percentage selection

GeneralDescription
The machine is housed in a wooden AWP Vision cabinet. The back door
includestwo cam locks, both of which are keyed to differ. The lockable
front door is removableto allow accessto three separatecash boxes and
the cash box innerdoor which includesa further securitycam lock.
The upper and lower glasses are held in place by a number of fixing
extrusions, one of which forms the player panel, within which are
commonly mountedStarpointSAPLbuttons.

A meter bank comprisingtwo meters is mounted behind a w i n d o w i n t h e
front panel to meter the coins through the validator and out of the pay
slides.
A refill meter is located behind the too left corner of the feature display
glassto meter cash to the tubes.
A double oole switch is mounted behind both the back door and the
removablefront door. The machine reouiresboth switches to be closed,
whereinthe front and back doors are closed,to run in normal play mode. lf
either switch is open, the machineruns in demo mode.
The base of the cabinetincludesan apertureat each corner for the location
of castors. The castors are particularto Maygay specificationand can be
orderedin kit form, quotingpart numberCK00003O.

Maygay M 1B MPU board. The M 1B board, is the later specificationand is
preferredwhere possible.
Each machinef unction is controlledby a differentsection of the board. A
number of header connectorsare providedaround the edge of the board,
and are labelled for connection to the various wiring harnessesof the
m a c hi ne .
The Central Processorof the MPU comprises a Motorola 68809 high
p e r f o r m a n c eN M O S M i c r o p r o c e s s o r u n n i n gi n t e r n a l l ya t 4 M h z . M e m o r y
and peripheraldecodingis performedby GAL16V8 (U32) and a 74HC154 416 l i n e d e c o d e r( U10 ) .

All communicationsbetween the plug and socket of the 25 way D-type
connectorare rated at 1200 Band,8 data bits, 1 stop bit and odd parity to
comply with BACTA standards. When a data machineis powered up, the

Both serial oorts are controlled from the orocessor via a 68681 dual

Twelve programmableinput/outputlines are providedon an Auxiliary Port
(P5), together with + 12v, Ov and + 5v to drive externalhardwaresuch as

T w o b a n k s o f D u a l I n L i n e ( D l L ) s w i t c h e s , l a b e l l e dS W 1 a n d S W 2
respectivelyare mounted on the MPU and are used to control various
functions of the machine. A listing of the DIL switch positions and
associatedfunction is providedin the game manual.
A red microswitch,labelledSW3, is mountedadjacentto the DIL switches
and is used to accessthe Test Sequence.describedin the Game Manual.
The MPU f urther includes a 2.4v Ni-cad battery, labelledBT1, for static
RAM backuo.
Note: A plasticcover is providedfor the MPU and should be in place when
t h e m a c h i n ei s i n u s e .
