Hello BAFTA Members!
Summer is upon us and as you will see in this newsletter, our
BAFTA members have been having a great time at some really
fun events, including a MFTHBA National Trail ride and two
Nationally pointed MFTHBA shows.
Both our Northern and Southern California members have
represented our breed at the CFTA April show, the CFTA may
show and the BAFTA May horse show - congratulations to all of
the participant's.
We have some new members, including a family who adopted
THREE Fox Trotter's from an auction sale - thank's to these
kind wonderful people there are three more Fox Trotter's that
will not be doomed to an unknown fate. There will be more to
come about these horses and their new family soon.
The BAFTA show in Watsonville is coming up quick and we
hope to see everyone there - the more participation we have the
more we represent our wonderful breed, so be sure to make
arrangements to come.
Lastly, be sure to get your stories and photos to Terry Kinnicutt
for the newsletter - Terry is doing a great job and we want to

Success!!..Busy Brookside 3 Day Show
What a Great time we all had! With all our BAFTA
friends and Beautiful Fox Trotters at the Sacramento
Brookside Show with Judge Debbie Rash.
Considering the scorching temperatures. All our horses
performed amazingly well, along with their riders.
We brought home several blue ribbons, and Patriot’s
Outlaw Queen (aka: Abbie) brought back the two gait
Championship with rider Marie Boyd. Tradition's Golden
Amaretto (aka: Amo) with owner/rider Judy Jordan as
the Reserve Championship.
Smoke (Smokey’s Sunrise) got 1st place in youth with
rider Melissa Junkel. Morgan Peterson got 2nd place in
trail on Belle.
Other Fox Trotter Blue Ribbon Winners:
Mighty Fine Fiona - 1st place model 2 year old.
Whoa Susanna -1st place model mare
Harrison - 1st place model gelding
Nuggets Black Pearl—1st Place in Equitation.
This was just some of the Ribbon Winners . There were
many more! And we Congratulate them all!!
Enjoy the pics from our time spent!!

The first region 1 show of the year was a great
success and it would not have been possible
without all of our BAFTA members that are also
CFTA members and supporters!
The weekend of April 11&12th the California
Fox Trotter Association hosted a wonderful Fox
Trotter horse show that was judged by Donnie
Daugherty. Then we were all lucky enough to
participate in a clinic taught by Donnie on
Sunday - double score!
The show had beautifully turned out Fox
Trotters everywhere, including a 9 horse Model
Mare Class!
It was a refreshing moment to be participating
in such a fun event that was attended by more
than 10 BAFTA members - the environment was
fun, lighthearted and absolutely worth the drive
for our members that drove down from Northern
California.
Thank you so much to our CFTA members for
always being so welcoming and a BIG thank you
to BAFTA and CFTA Member Mickey Fournier
for all of her hard work in putting together such
a great clinic!
