Lancaster Performing Arts Center 2011/2012 / Enrich your quality of life! Circle of Honor Donors The City of Lancaster and the Lancaster Performing Arts Center Foundation would like to extend special recognition to the businesses and individuals who are committed members of the Circle of Honor. The contributions of these donors have enhanced the theatre experience and quality of life for all patrons. From the Mayor of Lancaster The City of Lancaster has navigated the turbulent waters of a struggling economy and, in the process, continued to advance the Arts in the Antelope Valley. We have grown and flourished as a community with deep-seeded respect for our history and our culture. This is evidenced by the multitude of performances drawing crowds to the Antelope Valley’s entertainment Mecca, the Lancaster Performing Arts Center (LPAC). Our City is committed to further enhance the livability and quality of the community by providing a level of arts and entertainment which engages, uplifts and inspires us all. Cultivation of the arts is an essential element in the vibrancy of our community, one which is key to residents from all walks of life. As such, the arts must be vehemently supported and sustained. The City of Lancaster is working hand-in-hand with the LPAC Foundation as an unyielding cohesive force driven to expose the Valley’s youth to the performing arts. Thousands of youth are impacted annually through the Arts for Youth Program, which provides for scholarships, bus funds, school shows, and various outreach projects that make reaching our City’s most precious citizens possible. I am deeply appreciative of all the efforts and contributions of our patrons, sponsors, Foundation members, and staff, which enable us to continue to flourish as a progressive City centered on the betterment of lives through the appreciation of the Arts. I especially wish to thank Ralph Bozigian, Lou Bozigian and Scott Ehrlich for their tireless dedication to the Arts in the City of Lancaster. Sincerely, R. With school budgets being widely cut, the LPAC Foundation was pleased to announce the addition of bus funding assistance to area schools this past year. In addition to supporting LPAC’s Arts for Youth program, the Lancaster Performing Arts Center Foundation has provided over two million dollars in equipment, facility upgrades and programming enhancements since the Center’s grand opening. David O. Selznick has shut down production of his new epic, Gone with the Wind. The screenplay, you see, just doesn’t work. So what is an all-powerful movie mogul to do? While fending off the film’s stars, gossip columnists and his own father-in-law, Selznick calls in famed screenwriter Ben Hecht and pulls formidable director Victor Fleming from the set of The Wizard of Oz. Once in his office, he locks the doors, closes the shades, and on a brain food diet of bananas and peanuts, the three men labor over five days to write the screenplay for one of the most beloved films of all time. Written by Ron Hutchinson. Produced by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc. The situation culminates in a weekend at a country estate, with Fredrik, Anne, Desirée and the Count in attendance, as well as Fredrik’s son (who is hopelessly in love with Anne), Desirée’s illegitimate daughter, the Count’s manicdepressive wife and the Egerman’s lusty maid.
