Thank you!

Last month was mostly about transportation, ground, air and water. We used
books and flashcards, songs and different sounds these vehicles make.
Pumpkins made some boats and traffic lights during their art time in order to
learn more about transportation. They also sang songs about traffic lights,
wheels on the bus and many others. They enjoyed role playing people
travelling by bus and driving cars stopping for red lights and letting pedestrians
cross the street. They also pretended to be trains, boats and airplanes.
“ Life began with waking up and loving my
mother’s face. “ George Eliot
In April, Pumpkins started with the preparations for the Mother’s Day. Every week
they were rehearsing the songs and a dance for the show. They continued
taking care of the plants they had planted in March as a surprise for mommies.
They also made cards for mommies to show their gratitude and love.
Smiley Shark Project
In April we have read the book named Smiley Shark many times to enrich
children’s vocabulary. Pumpkins learned about the following words: jellyfish,
catfish, octopus, puffer fish, starfish, angelfish, twirl, whirl, giggle, net, trap,
dip, dive, happy, sad, scared. Pumpkins have watched videos about the book
on smart board and they learned about expressing being scared, happy and
sad during their drama lessons. We continue with this project in May too. We
are going to do some smiley shark art and pretend we are smiliey sharks during
drama lessons.
Concerning drama, Pumpkins were very hard working. We have started preparing for the
summer show, rehearsing The Giant Turnip Play. Pumpkins enjoy it very much and they are
very eager to participate. They also role played a bus full of passengers and a waiting room
at doctor Kinga’s . Pumpkins were able to patiently and quietly take turns since they were
quite interested in the activity.

Please, help us pull out the turnip
Yoga and motor skills
Yoga is good for a healthy body and a
healthy mind. Thank you Judy!
New challenges for Pumpkins both
physical and mental. Thank you Igor.
We have celebrated Francesco’s birthday in April.
When young children are consistently engaged by music in an age-appropriate, socially
accepting environment, they benefit at many levels : They gain the phonological processing,
spoken language, and comprehension skills that are the foundation of reading. They develop
social and emotional skills that are essential for school readiness—like the ability to regulate
their responses and relate to others in complex ways. By moving and dancing to music and
playing simple instruments, children improve their gross and fine motor skills.
Mike is offering some extra music classes on Mondays and Wednesdays at 3.30.
In May we are going to learn about animals, where they live (jungle or farm)
and what they eat, also about all sorts of creepy crawlers, like ladybugs,
butterflies, caterpillars, spiders, etc.
●
If you have any animals, books or anything related to our animal weeks please
bring it in and share it with us! Thank you.

The Busy Bees have been
planting flower bulbs outside
and sprouting seeds inside the
classroom.
The Busy Bees enjoyed the nice
weather outside, made new
friends and maintained the old
ones.
We celebrated Haruma’s,
Gyuszi’s and Maxi’s
birthday in April. Happy
Birthday to them!
One of our project in April was
to create a Spring tree. We have
observed the trees and bushes
in our garden and spotted the
signs of Spring. We have payed
close attention to the small buds
day by day and observed them
opening and growing bigger.
Later we draw a tree with lots
and lots of branches and sticked
crumpled paper onto it to
represent flowers.
Counting out a certain amount
of beads and making patterns:

Recycled wine corks are getting
painted by little hands to make a
very special gift for mommy.
The Busy Bees have been
observing, drawing and painting
flowers.
The Ladybird’s Class
Dear parents,
April has been a busy but exciting and interesting month
for the Ladybird class. We started the month off with our
Easter egg hunt which was much anticipated within the
class. We headed to the forest to try and catch a glimpse of
the Easter bunny. We followed a trail of wool he had left
for us to find the treasure at the end! When we got to the
treasure there were bunnies and yummy chocolate eggs a
plenty for the ladybirds. Their squeals of delight and look
of excitement on their faces were fantastic. After we found
all the goodies we headed back to school to enjoy some of
Throughout April we went on two wonderful field trips. The most highly
anticipated was the trip to the planetarium to look at the “wonders of
the sky” show. The Ladybirds really loved this trip and were in much awe
of the stars, sun and moon. We had learnt much about the planets,
stars; moon and sun prior to this trip so don’t be surprised if you hear
your Ladybird singing the planet song at home! We also went to the
slide park where we enjoyed some great sliding and sunshine. The
ladybirds had a fantastic time here and were very excited to have a
picnic, blow some bubbles and get some fun filled exercise in!
This month we celebrated Tristan’s 5th birthday with a delicious
chocolate cream cake. The children had a lovely time singing happy
birthday to Tristan and celebrating his special day with him. A huge thank
you to his parents for bringing in a scrumptious cake for the Ladybirds to
enjoy. We hope you had a fantastic birthday Tristan and created some
lovely memories to treasure forever!
We have been busy little Ladybirds preparing for our
Mother’s/Father’s day on the 8th of May. The children were
practising hard singing their songs and rehearsing their poem
daily as the date approaches. They have also spent time and
dedication working on their gifts for you all. Towards the end of
the month we began our sewing project which the Ladybirds
seemed to really enjoy. It was a great task that helped them work
on their fine motor skills and hand eye co-ordination. They were
all very careful and did such a fantastic job, we were so proud of
their achievement.
As we head into May we will begin to look at our story telling unit
where we will be learning all about different stories from
A few notifications:
Thank you all for bringing in sun cream, bug spray, and sun hat. For those of
you who haven’t, please bring them in soon as the weather is beginning to
head into the 20’s. Sun hats are very important for all field trips and outside
time to help protect against heatstroke.
Please make sure you do not send any chocolate, sweets or fizzy drinks in
with you Ladybird for field trips. Fruit and vegetables with their sandwich
are much more nutritious and provide them with long lasting energy to help
them play and learn in this fantastic weather.
Please make sure you bring back your library book every Monday so we can
send home a new book with your child.
Best wishes,
Dear Parents,
We are in the middle of the Spring, and the Caterpillars seem to enjoy it very
much! The more sunshine we have the more active we get. Of course, now
we have our picnic snacks outdoors and children tend to finish it a little bit
faster than usual because it is just more fun to run around and play. We
always make sure they drink plenty of water on these sunny days.
This month we have started with our Mother’s Day preparations, and so far
Caterpillars are doing a good job and the learning process is going pretty
smooth. They are preparing some interesting art works as well and we are
sure they will look really good when finished. Also, we have gradually started
to work on the end of the year show roles. It is going to be a funny one, and
the children are eager to play their roles as best as they can. Tamara from
“Pumpkins” had an influence on this since Caterpillars really like her drama
classes.
We had a very interesting field trip in April, when we went to
Planetarium. We were lucky to have the show in English, and the
theme was “Wonders of the sky”. Inside of the large, dome-shaped
building with the remarkable compositions of laser effects,
pictorial projections and music Caterpillars had a great opportunity
to learn about astronomy, galaxy and centuries old beliefs and
interpretations of celestial wonders. Even though it was dark inside
we often heard words like: “Wow!” and “Amazing!”
In April one of our Caterpillars had to leave. Dear Ayane we wish you
nothing but the best in Munich, and in your new school! Thank you for
all the wonderful moments and time spent with the Caterpillars. We
hope you will make a lot of good friends there.
Slide park was definitely an awesome field trip we had this month. The
weather was beautiful and the children had a lot fun sliding down fast
on those big and long slides! They also needed to climb up every time,
and they did so, thus having a good physical activities on the bright
sunny morning.
Kind regards,
Meg and Igor
Dear Parents,
It was a cold, windy 1st April when the Dragonflies decided to
peek Easter Bunny hiding chocolates in the forest. After we
explained to them what tricks might happen to people on April
Fools’s Day they started to understand why they could find
nothing on the way to the Teddybear Playground. Meanwhile
having our fruits we saw something red shining under the slide.
Then the hunt has begun…
DRAGONFLY
In the Classroom
Easter came really early this year so the Dragonflies had not
much time to get ready for it. Before the arrival of Easter Bunny
we painted our own easter eggs by dipping them into a special
liquid that turned them colourful and shiny. Big thank you to
Zalán’s mum for the special Easter materials and decorations.
We are glad to inform you that our plants (flowers, tomatoes,
beans and peppers) are growing bigger and bigger every day.
DRAGONFLY
Birthdays
Before everyone was gone for the long Easter break we had a
great birthday party celebration as our dragonfly, Itsuki became
6 years old in April. Thanks for the delicious Mickey Mouse
chocolate cake. It was great to celebrate with you, Itsuki. There
won’t be May without party. We are looking forward to celebrate
Zalán’s 6. birthday together.
DRAGONFLY
Field Trips
The Dragonflies had two invitations for a Friday
Field Trip in April. We would like to say a huge
thank you to the Caterpillars and the Ladybirds
for inviting us to a great show about stars and
planets in the Planetarium. Also a huge thank
you for the Friendly Frogs at Bimbo building for
the idea to meet at Gellert Hill slide park. It was
nice to meet you. We had great fun together.
