I have not enrolled in Priority Pass, can I still
access the Priority Pass lounges?
No. You will first need to enroll for a Priority Pass membership by calling 1-888-721-1044. Once your request has been processed, you will receive a Priority Pass Membership Card by mail that can be used to access the lounges. Be sure to call a few weeks before your planned travel date to ensure your membership card arrives in time.
Do the Platinum Lounge Program and the
Priority Pass Program have some of the same
lounges in both programs? In this case, which
membership should I use?
There is some overlap in the two lounge programs. By accessing the lounge through the Platinum Lounge
program you can avoid the additional $27 fee per visit/per person that would be charged if you used your Priority Pass membership. This is only true in cases
where the same lounge is in both programs. 63
I have already paid my annual membership
fee in one of the lounge programs. Will
American Express refund my payment?
No, American Express will not refund any outside
membership fees you have paid directly to the airport
clubs. However, you will not need to renew your
membership for the next term once it expires. How do I know if the lounge I wish to access
will be open and which amenities it has?
The best way to verify the most up to date lounge
information is by visiting the website associated with
the lounge you wish to access. Depending on which
program you will be accessing the lounge through, you
can find the necessary information in the appropriate
section of this guide and a quick reference to the
associated website. 64
1. Platinum Lounge Benefit. Holders of eligible American Express Cards (“Eligible
Cardmembers”) may access participating Canadian and International airport lounges
(“Participating Lounges”) on a complimentary basis. Participating Lounges may change
from time to time. For a complete listing visit americanexpress.ca/platinumlounges.
To access a Participating Lounge, Eligible Cardmember must show a valid, unexpired
eligible American Express Card, airline ticket for travel on the same day and governmentissued photo identification in the name of the Eligible Cardmember. Eligible Cardmembers
spouse and 2 children under the age of 21, or one travel companion, may enter a
participating lounge as complimentary guests. Guest must accompany eligible Cardmember;
show a valid airline ticket for travel on the same day and government-issued photo
identification to access a participating lounge. International Plaza Premium Lounges,
maximum of 2 hour stay. Québec City’s Jean Lesage International Airport VIP Lounge, eligible
Cardmembers children must be under the age of 18. House rules, terms and conditions
of Participating Lounges apply. Use of Participating Lounges is subject to availability.
Unless otherwise stated, Participating Lounge access cannot be used in conjunction
with any other offer or benefit and is subject to change or cancellation at any time.
2. Airport Club Program. The Business Platinum Cardmember must be travelling.
Name on ticket must match name on Business Platinum Card. (A US Airways® Clubs
ticket not required for US Airways® Clubs.) The Business Platinum Cardmember must
be 18 years of age to enter the Airport Club Lounge without a parent or guardian for
American Airlines Admirals Club® lounges. For Delta Sky Club™ lounges the Cardmember
must be 18 where there is no self-service bar. The Platinum Cardmember must be
21 years of age to enter into all Airport Club Lounges where there is a self-service bar.
Local age restrictions apply in non-U.S. locations. The Platinum member’s spouse and
children under the age of 21 or up to two companions may enter the club as complimentary
guests. Code-share and affiliated lounge agreements may not apply. Employee travelrelated benefit tickets are not eligible with American Airlines. The Business Platinum
Cardmember must present his or her valid Card, government-issued I.D., and same day
airline ticket to club agents. (Ticket not required for US Airways Clubs.) Complimentary
access is specifically for the airport club that corresponds to the airline operating the
flight (access pertains to the aircraft, not the flight number) except for US Airways Clubs,
or with respect to American Airlines marketed code share flights with an American
Airlines flight number which are also eligible for complimentary access to the lounge.
Meeting rooms may be reserved for a nominal fee. Cardmembers must adhere to all
house rules of participating clubs. For a list of participating airport club locations, call
Platinum Member Services. Participating airlines and locations subject to change.
3. Priority Pass Program. Business Platinum Basic and Platinum Supplementary
Cardmember(s) (“card member”) may apply for a Priority Pass membership (“PP
membership”). PP membership is subject to approval by Priority Pass Limited (“PPL”)
and is not guaranteed. Unless cancelled, PP membership automatically renews on its

anniversary date. PP membership may be cancelled by American Express if: (i) the
Priority Pass benefit associated with the Business Platinum Card is changed or
terminated, or (ii) the card member’s Business Platinum Card is cancelled. PP
membership includes access to any airport lounge participating in the Priority Pass
Program. Participating lounges are owned and operated by independent third parties and
their participation and/or facilities can change from time to time. To access a lounge, the
card member will need to show his/her valid Priority Pass card and an airline ticket for
travel on the same day for the card member and each of his/her guests. At their sole
discretion, participating lounges may restrict entry to persons under 21 years old; please
check restriction details for the individual lounges at www.prioritypass.com or your
Priority Pass Directory provided by PPL. All lounge visits are subject to a fee of $27 USD
per person per visit. This fee applies to the card member and his/her guests. Lounge
access charges can be billed by PPL to the Business Platinum Card connected to the
Card member’s PP membership upon PP’s receipt of notification from the lounge visited.
Any US dollar charges to the Card will be converted to CDN dollars using a conversion
rate and applying a conversion commission as specified in the Card member Agreement
and Disclosure Statement. All Card members are also subject to PPL’s terms and
conditions for the Priority Pass Program and the individual lounge operators’ terms
