DESIGN AND BILLS OF QUANTITIES Design and Bills of Quantities with AutoCAD and PriMus AutoRapidus is the software solution born to integrate Design and Quantity take offs by interfacing AutoCAD with PriMus. In addition, this software gives extra power to your AutoCAD (or AutoCAD LT) simplifying Architectural Design. Software overview •Dynamic connection between Architectural design and Bill of Quantities with the automatic composition and updating of the .DCF (document computation format) keeping any measurements that were inserted manually • Quantity Estimating of the whole drawing or parts of the drawing previously selected by the designer •Parametric measurements of the drawing entities (such as walls, doors, windows, etc) obtaining precise Bill of Quantity measurements for each drawing •Dynamic Updating of the Bill of Quantities document in relation to the modified drawing entities •Connection of one or more Price List items to each drawing entity by means of simple Drag & Drop operations • Different measurement items with different measurement descriptions can be defined even for a single drawing entity (e.g.: a Wall entity within a drawing can be quantified in surface finishings, painted surfaces, etc.) From Integrated design to Estimating Capable of interfacing itself with PriMus and PriMus-P, AutoRapidus quickly links each drawing element to one or more Price List Items, by means of quick and intuitive Drag & Drop operations with both PriMus and AutoCAD open simultaneously on-screen. The drawing created in either AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT, automatically generates the corresponding BoQ in PriMus thanks to a dynamic transmission of all drawing related measurements. Modifying a wall or even an entire room dynamically updates all of the Price List Items connected to the given drawing entities and therefore to the total Estimate cost in PriMus. With AutoRapidus the BoQ document and the design’s economic assessment, become fundamental decision factors integrated within the Architectural Design and capable of conditioning decision making activities. Much easier to Desig with architectural entitiesinstead of tracing simple lines Instead of tracing lines, with AutoRapidus the designer can draw walls that connect automatically, windows that are inserted within walls, doors and other “architectural entities” available in a “styles” archive that can be modified and updated obtain an optimized 3D model. The wide range of architectural entities supplied with the software guarantee the automatic conversion of your 2D Design to 3D. Roofs are easily generated starting from a simple 2D polyline; stairs are parametric and can be user-defined; pillars and columns can be configured in a dedicated dialog box and interact with all pre-existing entities; railings, fencing and glazings together with walls etc. can be easily configured thanks to a very rich library of profiles and 3D blocks that can be continuously updated by the user. Simplified Architectural Design With AutoRapidus the Designer can use “architectural entities” from a “styles” archive and with just a few clicks, build a three-dimensional model and produce plans, cross-sections, prospects, perspective views or broken-out sections. All views can be generated in 2D wireframe (with overlapping lines), 3D wireframe and various shading modes. It is also possible to add external and internal dimension lines to the building design, compute zone surface areas, calculate Lighting Ratios and organize summary tables that can be inserted within the drawing or simply exported to Excel.
