KENNEL CLUB REGULATIONS Extract from Reg F
If an exhibitor reports before the judging of a class or classes that a dog has been entered which is ineligible, the
exhibitor may choose one of the following options:(1) Withdrawal The dog may be withdrawn from competition subject to the conditions of Regulations 9(j) and 20.
(2) Transfer
(a) If a dog is ineligible for a class or classes as regards its breed, colour, sex, weight or height the Show Secretary
shall transfer it to the equivalent class or classes for the correct breed, colour, sex, weight or height or, in the
event of there being no equivalent class, Minor Puppy class or Puppy class excepted, to the Open class for the
correct breed, colour, sex, weight or height.
(b) For an exhibit entered incorrectly in a Minor Puppy Class, Puppy Class or Junior Class, which is over age but
under 12 calendar months of age, 18 calendar months of age or 24 calendar months of age respectively, the
Show Secretary shall transfer the exhibit to the Puppy Class, Junior Class or Yearling Class respectively for the
correct breed, colour, sex, weight or height and in the event of there being no Puppy, Junior or Yearling Class, to
the Open Class for the correct breed, colour, sex, weight or height.
(c) For any reason other than the above, the Show Secretary shall transfer it to the Open Class for the correct
breed, colour, sex, weight or height.
(d) If an exhibit arrives late and misses a class, even if it is the only class in which the dog is entered, the dog may
not be transferred to any other class.
BEST IN SHOW
THE SHOW WILL BE JUDGED ON THE GROUP SYSTEM
The dog declared Best in Show is a dog which has competed and is unbeaten by any other dog exhibited at the same
Show.
Definition of a High Profile Breed. A breed from time to time designated by the General Committee as requiring
particular monitoring by reason of visible condition(s) which may cause health or welfare concerns. The list of designated
High Profile Breeds is kept under regular review.
(a) Shows Judged on the Group System
(Definition: Shows judged on the Group system include classes for breeds within more than one Group, as defined
in Kennel Club Regulation B(A); and requires a judge to declare a Best of each Group after which the exhibits so
declared will compete for the award of Best in Show and Reserve Best in Show).
(1) Best of Breed
Where a breed is separately classified a Best of Breed may be declared but only from those exhibits which have
received a first prize in a breed class at the show. Where separate classes are provided for each sex of a breed
a Best of each Sex must be declared.
NOTE: The Best of Breed/Best Any Variety Not Separately Classified award relevant to a High Profile Breed will
not be confirmed until the dog has passed an examination by the General and Group Championship Show
Veterinary Surgeon.
(2) Best of Group
Best of Group and subsequent group placings must be selected from:
(a) The Best of Breed winners in each Group provided that they are unbeaten winning dogs.
(b) The best unbeaten winning dog from the Any Variety Not Separately Classified classes in each Group or
on each day.
NOTE: The dog declared Best of Breed/Best Any Variety Not Separately Classified from a breed designated by
the Kennel Club as a High Profile Breed is not eligible to compete in the Group competition unless it has passed an
examination by the Show’s Veterinary Surgeon. If the dog fails to pass the examination it is ineligible to compete in
the relevant Group.
(3) Best in Show
Best in Show must be selected from the Best of Group winners provided they are unbeaten. Reserve Best in
Show must be selected from the remaining Group winners following the selection of Best in Show.
THERE WILL BE NO COMPETITION FOR BEST PUPPY IN SHOW
BEST PUPPY IN BREED
Dogs eligible to compete for this award are those dogs not exceeding twelve calendar months of age on the first day
of the show, entered in the breed classification, provided they are unbeaten by another dog not exceeding twelve
calendar months on the first day of the show. A similar definition shall apply to the Best Puppy from the Any Variety
Not Separately Classified on each day of the Show.

RULES & REGULATIONS
VICIOUS DOGS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE AND MUST NOT BE BROUGHT TO THE SHOW.
EXHIBITORS ARE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE DONE BY THEIR DOGS DURING THE EXHIBITION.
1 The show will open at 7 a.m. daily.
2 Dogs will be received at any time but it is entirely the responsibility of the exhibitor to ensure that exhibits do not
miss their classes regardless of any PROVISIONAL times of judging of individual breeds which might be published
beforehand.
3 Judging will commence at 10 a.m. unless otherwise notified or published in Our Dogs, Dog World and Dog Training
Weekly.
4 The Show will close half an hour after all the judging has been completed. Exhibits may be removed from the show
after their judging has been completed. Exhibits may not be removed any earlier unless by written order of the
Veterinary Surgeon, Veterinary Practitioner or of the Show Management and then only in very exceptional and
unforeseen circumstances which must be reported to the Kennel Club. Exhibits must be removed from their
benches by 6 p.m. or when their judging is completed, whichever is the later.
5 The use of cooking stoves in the proximity of tenting and benching areas is forbidden except as authorised by the
Show Management.
6 Details of Entry Fees are on page 15. ENTRY FEES WILL NOT BE REFUNDED ONCE AN ENTRY HAS BEEN
MADE. You may enter via the Internet at www.dog.biz. FIRST ENTRY FEES INCREASE BY £1 DURING THE
EXTENDED ONLINE PERIOD 24 - 30 JUNE 2014.
7 Prize money will not be paid except where specifically stated elsewhere in the schedule.
8 The Committee reserves to itself the right to refuse entries.
9 Puppies under six calendar months of age on the first day of the Show are ineligible for exhibition.
10 The mating of bitches within the precincts of the show is forbidden.

(b) Withdrawal from Other Competition
Dogs which become eligible for Best of Group and Best in Show may be withdrawn from all other
competition (other than Breed Classes and Best of Breed) prior to the competition for Best of Group or Best
in Show as appropriate in order to remain unbeaten. A dog beaten in competition for Best of Group or Best in
Show may subsequently be exhibited in all competition for which it was previously eligible. The dogs
declared Best in Show and Reserve Best in Show however, must not compete in any subsequent
competition. Dogs may be withdrawn from Any Variety Classes when judged before Breed Classes.
(c) Proviso
For the purposes of this Regulation dogs beaten in competition for Stud Dog, Brood Bitch, Progeny, Brace
and Team or a Special Award confined to a single breed, will not be considered to be beaten dogs.
13 Exhibits will not be admitted to Group, Best in Show or Variety Class competition after a period of ten minutes has
elapsed since the announcement that exhibits are required for judging, unless they have been unavoidably delayed by
previous judging not being completed on time, and then only with the special permission of the Show Management.

14 No modifications will be made to this schedule except by permission of the General Committee of the Kennel Club,
which will be followed by advertisement in the Canine Press wherever possible.
15 All exhibitors must be familiar with Kennel Club Regulation F (Annex B) Regulations for the Preparation of Dogs for
Exhibition.
16 All dogs resident outside the U.K. must be issued with a K.C. Authority to Compete Number before entry to the
show/event can be made. All overseas entries without an Authority to Compete Number will be returned. Overseas
exhibitors’ attention is drawn to Kennel Club Regulation B. 19. c. “No dog with cropped ears shall be eligible to take
part in any Kennel Club licensed activity”.
17 DOGS IN CARS ON HOT DAYS. Your dog is vulnerable and at risk during hot weather and the Kennel Club offers
the following guidance to help guide you through the do’s and don’ts travelling to and whilst at Kennel Club licensed
events.
• When travelling to a show please take a moment to consider whether the route to the show is on a busy
holiday route, and leave earlier to avoid increased time in traffic jams.
• If your vehicle is not air-conditioned seriously consider whether travelling to the show is a good idea at all.
• The vehicle should be as fully ventilated as possible, and plenty of stops should be taken, with lots of water
available to drink.
• Ensure your dog is not sitting in full sunlight. There should be plenty of free flowing air around the dog.
• When at the show, never leave your dog in the vehicle.
• Keep the dog in the shade — take your own shade, for example a large umbrella and always have plenty of
water available to drink so your dog stays well hydrated.
• Avoid your dog taking part in unnecessary exertion, or from standing in exposed sunlight for extended lengths
of time.
Remember, if you feel hot your dog is very likely to feel much hotter and dehydrated, and this could lead to dire
results. Please look after your dog’s welfare.
WARNING: IF YOUR DOG IS FOUND TO BE AT RISK, FORCIBLE ENTRY TO YOUR VEHICLE MAY BE
NECESSARY WITHOUT LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED.
18 Not For Competition entries will be accepted. Details of each dog so entered must be recorded on the entry form
and must be Kennel Club registered.
19 Should any judge be prevented from fulfilling his/her engagement, the committee reserves the right to appoint a
substitute. Exhibitors are at liberty to withdraw from competition, BUT NO ENTRY FEES CAN BE RETURNED.
20 No animal other than an exhibit will be allowed within the precincts of the show. Exhibits “Not for Competition” may
be entered for a fee of £10, as stated above, and a notice not exceeding 10" x 5" with the dog’s name printed on it
may be displayed over the bench {see F(1) (5) (d)}.
21 The Committee is empowered to exclude or to remove any dog which is not in a fit state for exhibition owing to
disease, savage disposition, or any other cause {see Rule F(1) (15)}, and the entry fee will be forfeited.
22 Each exhibit must be brought with a suitable lead and collar so that the exhibit may be properly fastened on the
benching.
23 Each exhibit must be benched on the numbered bench allocated to it in the catalogue. Under no circumstances
should partitions be removed from benching.
24 Special places will be provided for the cleaning, preparation and exercising of exhibits and no other place on the
showground must be used for such purposes.
25 It should be distinctly understood by exhibitors and purchasers of dogs at the show and all other persons that the
Committee will not be responsible for the entire or partial loss or detention of or damage to dogs or any other
property whether arising from accident or any other cause whatsoever or from any act or omission of themselves or
their officers, servants, agents or others. It is on this understanding only that entries are accepted.
26 Gangways must be kept clear at all times. Any obstructions including dog boxes left in gangways will be removed
by the Show Management.
27 Fouling. Exhibitors are reminded of Kennel Club Regulations F8 which requires removal as soon as possible of any
fouling caused by their dogs at the Show and the environs of the show ground.
28 Acknowledgement of Entries. If acknowledgement of entries is required, an addressed, stamped card must be
enclosed for the Secretary’s signature,
29 Regulations. The Show will be held under Kennel Club Limited Rules and Regulations. All rules and regulations or
definitions or instructions in the nature of rules and regulations printed for convenience in other parts of this
schedule shall be deemed to form part of these Rules and Regulations.
30 Should any question arise which is not provided for in these Regulations the decision of the Committee shall be
final, subject to appeal to the Kennel Club.
31 All entries must be made on or before Monday, 23rd June 2014 (Postmark), or online by midday on Monday
30th June 2014.
32 Exhibitors will receive one free pass (not transferable) for each dog entered but in the case of a partnership, an
additional pass will be provided.
33 Cancellation or Abandonment: Entry fees will not be refunded in any circumstance where any act of God or any
other unforeseen reason causes the cancellation or abandonment of the show after entries have closed.
34 Photography & Video Rights: The Organisers would like to bring the regulation on photography and filming to the
attention of exhibitors, trade stands, press and visitors.
It is a condition of all those attending the event that no filming or other form of recording may be taken or made at
the venue without express written permission of the organisers. The taking of photographs in the show venue for
sale or reward is strictly prohibited except with the written permission of the Organisers. Press accredited
photographers are provided with permission to take photographs ONLY for use in newspapers, magazines and

internet sites – this is for news purposes only. There is no objection to the general public taking photographs of
general views of the show, provided that these are for private use. Specific dogs may be photographed only with
the approval of the exhibitor. No photography or filming is permitted in breed judging rings whilst judging is actually
taking place. However, judges may allow it to happen at the end of classes or after the Challenge Certificate is
awarded. Filming and flash photography is allowed from outside the rings at all times unless the operation of the
camera is actually affecting exhibits. However, if a powerful flash unit is used or it is clear that exhibits are being
affected, a ring steward or the judge is empowered to stop the person concerned.
REGULATIONS FOR THE PREPARATION OF DOGS FOR EXHIBITION F(B)
1 These Regulations must be observed when a dog is prepared for exhibition and/or exhibited at any Kennel Club
Licensed event. Objections may be referred to the General Committee for disciplinary action under these Show
Regulations and/or for disciplinary action under Kennel Club Rule A42.
(a) A dog found to have been exhibited in breach of these Regulations will automatically be disqualified from
exhibition at the show and from any award gained thereat.
(b) Unless the exhibitor provides a satisfactory explanation for the dog being exhibited in breach of these
Regulations then he/she may be subject to further penalties of either a fine or as listed under Rule 42.
2 (a) No substance which alters the natural colour, texture or body of the coat may be present in the dog’s coat for
any purpose at any time during the Show. No substance which alters the natural colour of any external part
of the dog may be present on the dog for any purpose at any time during the Show.
(b) Any other substance (other than water) which may be used in the preparation of a dog for exhibition must not
be allowed to remain in the coat or on any other part of the dog at the time of exhibition.
3 No act or operation which alters the natural conformation of a dog or any part thereof may be performed except:
(a) Operations certified to the satisfaction of the General Committee.
(b) The removal of dewclaws of any breed.
(c) Operations to prevent breeding, provided that such operations are notified to the Kennel Club before
neutered dogs are shown.
Nor must anything be done calculated to in the opinion of the General Committee to deceive.
4 The General Committee without previous notice may order an examination of any dog or dogs at any Show. Any
examination thus ordered will be made by a person having executive authority who shall have a written directive
from the Kennel Club in their possession. Samples may be taken for further examination and analysis.
5 An individual has the right to lodge an objection to a dog only if he/she is the owner or handler of a dog
competing in the same breed or class, an objection may, however, be lodged by an official of the Show or by
anyone so deputed by the Kennel Club. It will be the responsibility of the individual who lodges the objection or
the official (as appropriate) to substantiate the grounds for the objection. The Kennel Club will substantiate the
grounds for an objection made on its behalf.
6 Any objection by an individual related to an infringement of these Regulations must be made in writing to the
Show Secretary at his/her office before the close of the Show and the individual must produce evidence of
identity at the time of lodging the complaint.

DEFINITION OF CLASSES
KC Reg F(A)
In the following Definitions, a Challenge Certificate includes any show award that counts towards the title of Champion under the
rules of any governing body recognised by the Kennel Club.
Wins at Championship Shows in breed classes where Challenge Certificates are not on offer shall be counted as wins at Open Shows.
In the case of a dog owned in partnership and entered in Members classes or competing for Members Specials each partner must
at the time of entry b e a member of the Society.
In estimating the number of awards won, all wins up to and including the seventh day before the date of closing of entries shall be
counted when entering for any class i.e. 16th June 2014.
Wins in Variety classes do not count for entry in Breed classes but, when entering for Variety classes, wins in both Breed and
Variety classes must be counted. A first prize does not include a Special Prize of whatever value.
For the purposes of Kennel Club Show Regulations, the term “Variety Class” also applies to “Stakes Classes”. A Variety Class is
one in which more than one breed or variety of a breed can compete.
A dog is not eligible for entry in Variety classes unless also entered and subsequently exhibited in a Breed class where such a
class is provided for which it is eligible {Subject to Reg. F19(j)}.
Exemptions from this Regulation are :(1) A puppy, unless a class for dogs under twelve months of age for which it is eligible is provided for the breed.
(2) A dog in Any Variety Veteran class.
(3) A dog in Any Variety Champion class.
(4) A dog which is withdrawn from exhibition in breed classes as a result of the appointment of an emergency judge.
(5) A dog in YKC Stakes slasses.
(6) A dog in KC Good Citizen Scheme classes.
(7) Exhibits bred by the scheduled breed Judge.
MINOR PUPPY — For dogs of six and not exceeding nine calendar months of age on the first day of the Show.
PUPPY — For dogs of six and not exceeding twelve calendar months of age on the first day of the Show.
JUNIOR — For dogs of six and not exceeding eighteen calendar months of age on the first day of the Show.
YEARLING—For dogs of twelve and not exceeding twenty four calendar months of age on the first day of the Show.
SPECIAL BEGINNERS — For owner, handler or exhibit not having won a Challenge Certificate.
MAIDEN — For dogs which have not won a Challenge Certificate or a First Prize at an Open or Championship Show (Minor Puppy, Special
Minor Puppy, Puppy and Special Puppy classes excepted, whether restricted or not).
NOVICE — For dogs which have not won a Challenge Certificate or three or more First Prizes at Open and Championship Shows (Minor
Puppy, Special Minor Puppy, Puppy and Special Puppy classes excepted, whether restricted or not).
DEBUTANT — For dogs which have not won a Challenge Certificate or a First Prize at a Championship Show, where Challenge Certificates
were offered for the breed. (Minor Puppy, Special Minor Puppy, Puppy and Special Puppy classes excepted, whether restricted or not).
GRADUATE — For dogs which have not won a Challenge Certificate or four or more First Prizes at Championship Shows in Graduate,
Post Graduate, Minor Limit, Limit and Open classes, whether restricted or not, where Challenge Certificates were offered for the breed.
POST GRADUATE — For dogs which have not won a Challenge Certificate or five or more First Prizes at Championship Shows in Post
Graduate, Minor Limit, Mid Limit, Limit and Open classes, whether restricted or not, where Challenge Certificates were offered for the breed.
LIMIT—For dogs which have not become Show Champions under Kennel Club Regulations or under the rules of any governing body
recognised by the Kennel Club or won seven or more First Prizes in all, at Championship Shows in Limit or Open Classes, confined to
the Breed, whether restricted or not, at Shows where Challenge Certificates were offered for the Breed.
OPEN — For all dogs of the breeds for which the class is provided and eligible for entry at the show.
VETERAN — For dogs of not less than seven years of age on the first day of the Show.
CHAMPION — For dogs which have been confirmed a Champion, Show Champion or Field Trial Champion. Champion classes may
note be scheduled for individual breeds or varieties of breeds.
RARE BREEDS — Confined to those breeds not granted Challenge Certificates in the current year, with the exception of those breeds
whose registration is confined to the Imported Register.
IMPORTED REGISTER — For breeds confined to the Imported Breeds Register and only when an interim breed standard has been
published by The Kennel Club, breeds whose registration is confined to the Imported Register may be exhibited in this class only, and
are ineligible for any other competition whatsoever.
ANY VARIETY NOT SEPARATELY CLASSIFIED — For breeds of dog for which no separate breed classes are scheduled.
YOUNG KENNEL CLUB STAKES—All pedigree dogs are eligible to take part provided the dog is registered on the Kennel Club breed
register. The dog must be registered a) solely or jointly in the member’s name or b) in the name of a member of the family and under
these circumstances the dog must be resident at the YKC member’s address. No substitute handlers are permitted — the dog must be
handled by the YKC member. Members are not permitted to allow another individual to show their dog on their behalf if they are not
able to attend the class. Members must be aged 6 - 24 years (for members 6 years and up to, but not including 25th birthday). Please
note that membership of the YKC terminates on a member’s 25th birthday. Please note that the YKC office will only accept wins from
classes that are listed on the YKC website. If a show schedules a YKC class which has not been approved by the YKC Management
Team and published on the website, it will not qualify for Crufts. Please note that in order to enter any YKC Crufts qualifying
competition you must be a fully paid up member at the time of entry. If you enter a Crufts qualifier and you have not previously paid
your membership fee then any award will not count towards qualification for Crufts. Therefore it is important to renew and maintain
YKC membership as current if you wish to participate in qualifying Crufts competitions. Crufts 2014 Qualification Procedure: The
first placed member only in each dog group at the qualifying show will qualify for Crufts. A rosette and prize money is awarded. If the
first placed member has already qualified, the Crufts qualification will roll down to the next member (down to 3rd place only).
YOUNG KENNEL CLUB HANDLING CLASSES—Exhibitors may handle any dog provided it is entered in a previous class at this show,
fully registered on the Kennel Club Breed Register and eligible to be exhibited at Kennel Club licensed events. The first placed
exhibitor from each handling class will be invited to take part in a YKC Handling Competition at Crufts 2014, provided when they qualify
they are a fully paid up member of the YKC. For the purposes of these classes handler’s ages should be calculated as their age on the
first day of the Show. Entries must be made on the entry form, no entries taken on the day. The age groups are 6-11 years (for handlers
6 years and up to, but not including 12th birthday); 12-16 years (for handlers 12 years and up to, but not including 17th birthday); 17-24
years (for handlers 17 years and up to, but not including 25th birthday). Please note that the YKC office will only accept wins from
classes that are listed on the YKC website. If a show schedules a YKC class which has not been approved by the YKC Management
Team and published on the website, it will not qualify for Crufts. Please note that in order to enter any YKC Crufts qualifying
competition you must be a fully paid up member at the time of entry. If you enter a Crufts qualifier and you have not previously paid
your membership fee then any award will not count towards qualification for Crufts. Therefore it is important to renew and maintain
YKC membership as current if you wish to participate in qualifying Crufts competitions. Important Information: The YKC will now only
accept YKC qualifiers and will no longer be able to accept Junior Handling Association qualifiers from Open and Championship Shows.
NOT FOR COMPETITION — Societies may, at their discretion, accept Not for Competition entries. Societies may accept such entries from
breeds of dog not included within the title of the Society and at Shows held over more than one day, such entries may be accepted on
any day from the breed.
ANY VARIETY GOOD CITIZEN — For dogs which have achieved their Kennel Club Good Citizen Bronze award.

NOTICE TO CARAVANNERS
The £40 caravan fee covers the period from Thursday to Monday. The RWAS will make a daily charge of £10 per
night for caravans on the ground before or after the stated period. NO CARAVANS WILL BE ADMITTED BY
THE RWAS BEFORE 4 AUGUST 2014.
Electrical hook-ups will be available on a first come first served basis. The cost will be £43 per hook-up plus £2
per day electricity charge.
Regulations state that caravans must be 25 ft apart. Failure to comply with this rule will result in owners having to
remove their unit to another location. Under no circumstances are caravan spaces to be reserved for people
arriving later. Security staff will carry out periodic inspections to ensure that this regulation is being complied with.
GENERATORS - Fuel must be stored in a suitable container It must be stored away from the generator and any
other possible sources of ignition. Filling of generators must only be carried out when the generator is cool and a
correct fuel funnel must be used. Any spillage of fuel must be cleaned up immediately, and prior to starting the
engine. A fire extinguisher must be available and located close to the generator.
Caravans will not be allowed onto the site after 10pm. Please wait outside in the holding area.

RIDING OF BICYCLES ON THE R.W.A.S. SHOWGROUND IS PROHIBITED.
