APRIL SHOWS
OPUS 5
Friday, April 4th
8:00 PM
Price: $12.00
“Opus 5” is the Frankie Valli and Four Seasons tribute act that will bring you
back to those “Sounds of the Seasons” you’ve been waiting to hear since
“Sherry” topped the charts over 50 years ago. William Cintron, lead vocalist
of Opus 5, has recaptured the Valli mystique with his effortless falsetto range
that he brings to the big stage. Four accomplished musicians accompany
William both instrumentally and with masterful harmonious sounds that were
featured in the early days. Opus 5 does not claim they are number one or the
best. “Opus 5 stands alone for being authentic, accurate and captivating…
.Jersey’s best.”
The 2nd Avenue - Klezmarin Band
Friday, April 11th
8:00 PM
Price: $11.00
Klezmer, literally meaning “instruments of music,” is a tradition among the Jews of Eastern Europe. The
repertoire is upbeat Jewish, Hebrew and Yiddish music sometimes called Froehlich or “Happy Music,”
which is why it is so popular at weddings. This band has played in the Catskill Mountains, New York City
and throughout South Florida. Each musician creates beautiful music with multiple instruments. As a
group, they are truly entertaining. Lets not forget our very own resident “Sunshine” who is part of the Klezmarin Band. This is a must see show!
The Sensational Sound of
Andre Michaels
Friday, April 25th
8:00 PM
Price: $10.00
Andre Michaels is one of the most nostalgic and entertaining evenings to hit South Florida in years. You
will delight in this unique multi-media musical presentation of the great American Songbook. Andre masterfully performs the works of Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Sammy Davis Jr., Louis Armstrong, Ray
Charles and Lou Rawls. Watch these masters perform with Andre on the silver screen. He spellbinds his
audience with performances of scenes from “The Phantom of the Opera” and the Broadway musical
“Showboat.” This is definitely a “don’t miss show!”

MAY SHOWS
Jimmy Cavallo
Friday, May 9th
8:00 PM
Price: $11.00
Jimmy Cavallo is an American musician best
known for performing with his band in the 1956
movie, “Rock, Rock, Rock” by pioneering music
DJ Alan Freed. Jimmy and the Houserockers was
the first all-white band to play at the Apollo Theatre
in Harlem. Before Elvis Presley’s sunrise and before Bill Haley soared like a Comet, Jimmy Cavallo
rocked the house nightly along the East Coast.
Treading territory unexplored by white musicians
of his era, the young tenor saxman plunged headfirst into R&B. Jimmy is still Rockin’! This is a show
you do not want to miss!
Broadway & Beyond
Friday, May 23rd
8:00 PM
Price: $10.00
Broadway & Beyond is a musical variety show
based in Miami, Florida. It is made up of three
seasoned performers; Georgene Barger, Louis
Yates and Mary Kaye. Costumes, choreography
and interaction with the audience are all part of the
show. Their talents are used to their fullest and an
ambiance of excitement is created that draws the
audience in and makes them want more. You will
hear and see everyone’s favorite Broadway tunes
from great shows like “Fiddler on the Roof,” “Evita”,
“Chicago,” “Gypsy” and many more. Come and
enjoy this wonderful musical evening!

HOW TO DRIVE DEFENSIVELY
As drivers, we often ignore the golden rule of driving
safely and defensively. There are many reasons why we
do not drive defensively. Perhaps we have become too
complacent or perhaps we’re in a hurry. When we ignore
the opportunity to drive safely, we place our lives and the
lives of others in a danger zone of trouble. To drive safely
and defensively, we must remember a few simple rules.
1. Buckle up. Seatbelts could prevent about 50 percent of car accident deaths and injuries.
2. Stay awake and alert. Nearly all collisions occur
because one or both drivers were not paying attention. Whether it’s due to sleepiness or cell
phones.
3. Think Ahead! You never know what other drives
are thinking or what they will do, try to anticipate
their next move. Keeping your eyes open and
being prepared to react to any possible driving
mistakes is an important rule of defensive driving.
8 News & Revues
4. Pay attention to stop and yield signs. Even if you
have the right of way, be prepared to let the other
driver go first. It is better to wait half a minute at a
stop sign than to end up somewhere else.
5. Check your blind spots. Changing lanes without
checking your blind spots is a hazardous habit. To
drive safely, try to stay out of other drivers blind
spots too.
6. Use your turn signals. They are an important tool
for the defensive driver. The turn signals are there
to let other drivers know your
7. intentions.

From Vesta Property Services
Hello Everyone!
As April rolls around, I hope you have had an
opportunity to take a look at the 2014-2015 Kings
Point Playbill. There are numerous great shows
heading to Kings Point!
Remember, you can
purchase tickets online, in person at the Flanders,
Main Clubhouse, Atrium Box Office or by phone at
561-499-3335 ext. 225.
As always, each and every summer we plan several
“Summer Projects”. This year will be no different.
Working hand in hand with your Board of Directors,
we plan to continue to improve Kings Point to
enhance the lifestyle our residents have become
accustomed to. The indoor pool facility is a perfect
example! We will announce the grand opening
towards the end of the month.
As a reminder, the monthly Vesta meeting, held the
third Tuesday, of each month will take a brief hiatus
over the summer months (June, July and August).
The monthly meeting will resume in September. If
you have any questions or concerns, please feel free
to contact me in the Administration Office.
Wishing you a Happy Passover and Happy Easter!

tennis
talk
by Mike Rothman
The season for our tennis teams finished last week,
however, the Men’s A team finished in first place and will
go on to the playoffs against all the winners in Palm
Beach County. Congratulations for some great tennis in
a tough level 5 league.
The Women’s team and the Men’s B team also played
tough and both finished in the middle of the pack. All
in all it was a good competition and gritty challenge for
ten weeks of the winter. Perhaps next year we can field
more teams – we have the players! We need move active
participation in our tennis club.
The next meeting is Wednesday, April 2nd in the main
clubhouse social room at 2:00 PM.
Tennis goes on at both the Normandy and Monaco
courts Monday – Friday mornings on the clay and if you
prefer hard courts at Seville.
Pickleball, the newest sport at Kings Point is played daily
at 9:00 AM at the new courts behind the main clubhouse.
Dave and Leon will give you all the help you need and
share their knowledge of the game. It is new to Kings
Point and it has quickly become very popular. There is
a large group of players and all are welcome at every
level. Kings Point is an adult sports camp. It is all for
the taking. Give both sports a shot.
See you at the meeting
and on the court.

THEATRE ETIQUETTE
DO’s and DON’Ts
DO….
• Observe the Dress Code for all events in the Theatre.
• Arrive on time, enter and be seated prior to the start of the
performance
• Stay seated during the performance. Due to strict Fire Codes,
there is “‘No Standing Room” in the theatre.
• Adjust hearing aids, listening devices and turn off cell phones so
they cannot be heard by other theatre-goers.
• Use restraint in the application of perfumes, colognes and/or
after-shave as many of our patrons suffer from allergies.
• Keep your feet off chairs and theatre railings to prevent
unnecessary wear on them.
• Wait until the final act concludes before exiting the theatre.
DON’TS
• Do not use cameras or recording devices as copyright laws
strictly forbid them.
• Do not talk during the performance.
• Do not sing or hum along with the performers.
• Absolutely no food, drinks or candy is allowed in the theatre.
• Do not leave your seat and head for the exit until the
performance is complete, the performers have left the stage, and
the house lights have come up*
(*) NOTE: This is the major complaint made by our theatre-going public.
It indicates total disrespect for the performers and creates an
embarrassment for the rest of the Kings Point audience. Also, because the
house lights are not up, there is a greater risk to patrons walking in the
darkened theatre.
RULES OF THE HOUSE
For anyone attending Social Events (i.e. Shows, Dances, Lectures)
in the Theatre and/or Ballrooms, the following clothing items are
NOT PERMITTED: Shorts, Tank Tops, T-Shirts, Jogging or Sweat
Suits, House Coats, Hats (except small head coverings respecting
religious beliefs).
Shorts may be worn to Movies and Bingo only. No shorts will be
permitted in the Theatre during shows, in the Ballroom during
dances, or in the Main Lobby on show and dance nights.

30 News & Revues
Kings Point 31
32 News & Revues
We all recall the "In Case of Emergency" (ICE) program. We were advised to enter
under in our cell phones "ICE" followed by the name and phone number of the
person we wanted contacted in case an emergency arose and we were unable
to communicate with the rescue people trying to help us. We were also supposed to put a decal on the cell phone that indicated that there was an "ICE"
phone contact on our cell phones.
This ICE project was one arm of the ”\/ial of Life Program" that is sponsored by
the Professional Firefighters/Paramedics of Palm Beach County. Unfortunately,
this program developed a weakness. Too many of us, when we upgraded our
cell phones, would forget to transfer the ICE information to our new cell phone.
Our Fire/Rescue, in partnership with the Alliance of Delray and the West Boca
Community Council has developed a new link in the Vial of Life Program. It is
known as the “YELLOW DOT" program. Although over ten years old and already
implemented in several other Florida counties, it is now being made available
in Palm Beach County. It is meant to help Fire/Rescue or the Sheriff's department
help you when you are involved in an incident while in your vehicle and can't
communicate. A YELLOW dot decal is placed on the rear window of your vehicle
on the driver's side. It advises the Fire/Rescue that there is a form in your glove
compartment with vital information about you and that will help them to contact whomever you designate. The decals and the forms are being made available at the "ID" office in the administration building. There is a concern about
the information requested by the form. Remember, when you enter your
Medicare information, you are broadcasting your Social Security number.
Every time you turn over your vehicle to a parking lot attendant, your private
information is available to strangers. Be judicious in what information you publish. Most critical are your medications and allergies, especially to chemicals such
as penicillin. Also, make note if you are on blood thinners.
A reminder of another link in the Vial of Life program. The Personal Medical Information form which many of us put up in the back of the kitchen cabinet door
is still available in the lobby of the ID office. This should be periodically reviewed
for accuracy and replaced as necessary.
Now that you have more information on the Vial of Life program, go back to
your cell phone and update your ICE information!
