ลักษณะสําคัญของ diabetic cataract คือ
¾ เป็ น bilateral white punctuate or snowflake anterior and
posterior subcapsular opacity เกิดขึน
้ เนือ
่ งจากมีการสะสมของ
sorbital fructose glucose ในเลนสเ์ พิม
่ มากขึน
้ สง่ ผลให ้เกิด
sudden and progressive myopia
¾ อาจพบว่าเป็ น abrupt onset in uncontrolled young diabetic
patient หรือผู ้ป่ วยทีค
่ วบคุมระดับนํ้ าตาลในเลือดไม่ด ี และลักษณะ
opacity อาจลดลงถ ้าควบคุมระดับนํ้ าตาลในเลือดได ้
¾ มักพบ diabetic cataract ในผู ้ป่ วยเบาหวาน type 1
* ผู ้ป่ วยเบาหวานมักจะเป็ น senile cataract เร็วกว่าคนปกติ พบว่า
เป็ นชนิด nuclear sclerosis (NS) with posterior subcapsular
่ ก
opacity (PSC) ซงึ่ ไม่ใชล
ั ษณะของ diabetic cataract ให ้รหัสดังนี้
