beach to view a sunset and, when the conditions are just right, a ‘green flash’!

Dawn Beach is located next to the picturesque Oyster Pond that divides the Dutch and
French side of the island. Its constant breeze and rolling waves along with tropical white
sand are a delight. Located on the beach is Mr. Busby’s Beach Bar and Restaurant offering

GREAT BAY BEACH
Located next to the busy shopping area in Philipsburg, Great Bay Beach offers you a chance
to cool down after a shopping excursion. There are many bars and restaurants located right
on the beach as well as water sport activities such as jet ski rentals. St Maarten’s cruise
dock terminal is located opposite allowing a good view of the huge cruise liners that visit
our island.

MULLET BAY
Mullet Bay is a long and wide sandy beach located next to the golf course on the south west
side of the island. The crystal clear waters are perfect for snorkeling and the sheltered bay
is normally very calm. Being on the south of the island this beach is also a good location to
view a Caribbean sunset.
ORIENT BEACH
A very popular beach located on the French side of the island. Orient Beach offers it
all, from a long sandy shoreline to gentle lapping waves with views of Pinel Island and
Tintamarre. The beach is lined with excellent restaurants offering anything from burgers
to lobster, beer or champagne. The beach is also well known for its watersport activities
including jet skiing, hang gliding and wind surfing.
BAIE ROUGE
With views of neighboring Anguilla, Baie Rouge has a long shoreline and is perfect for
snorkeling. Located to the right, as you walk on the beach, is a beautiful natural arch within
the cliff face. There are beach bars offering Caribbean food and drinks.
MAHO (AIRPORT BEACH)
This small beach offers gentle waves and white sand, but it is best known worldwide for
the views of landing planes at Princess Juliana International Airport! If brave enough
you can stand and watch a jumbo jet fly right over your head on final approach, but
we do not recommend you stand by the fence for their take off! Sunset Beach Bar is
located at one end of the each with cool drinks and safe views of the landing and taking
off aircraft.
