Mornings at Woodward Summer Camps
2
WOODWARD AC ADEMY
When campers arrive each day, they enjoy games, contests, and a Morning Show during
check-in. Campers start the day with horseshoes, hula hoop contests, relay races, minuteto-win challenges, and soccer shootouts, or they can sit back and relax while watching a
movie on the Big Screen. Each day at 8:45 am, all campers come together in the stadium
stands to hear announcements and participate in a game show. It is a fun, exciting way to
start the day.
GENERAL INFORMATION FOR
Main Campus
What to Bring
Requirements for what to bring will
vary by camp. Campers will typically be
asked to bring personal equipment to
athletic camps, if they own it. Usually,
campers will be asked to bring a swimsuit and towel. Parents should check
the requirements of each camp.
Location and Directions
Woodward Academy’s Main Campus
is located in College Park. All summer
camps on Main Campus will drop off
and pick up at the Woodward Academy
athletic complex at 1576 Walker Avenue,
College Park. You may drop your
child(ren) off on Main Campus as early
as 7:30 am.
Age of Campers
Camp offerings are geared for specific
age ranges. Parents will be guided
to the appropriate camps during the
registration process. Children must be
at least 5 years of age to attend any
summer camp.
Health and Medicine
Children with
Special Needs
Woodward Academy summer camps
are not designed or oriented for
students who have needs that require
special or individualized attention.
A Woodward school nurse will be
available to assist with medications
and supervise the health and safety
of every camper. Parents will be given
the opportunity to provide information on any medical conditions
or allergies during the registration
process. Parents should contact the
school nurse with specific concerns or
requests at 404.379.7104.

“The Hideout and The Lair”—spaces
for younger campers. In The Hideout,
campers can play with puzzles, board
games, LEGO®, and art supplies.
Campers will work together throughout
the summer to create, decorate, and
perfect their own “fort” or hideout.
Younger campers also will have their
own time to play in the Upper School
student lounge, where there are ping
pong and foosball tables as well as a
snack bar.
“Headquarters (HQ)”—a space for
older campers. In the HQ, campers can
relax on over-sized bean bags and pillows. They will find board games, card
games, art supplies, puzzles, LEGO®,
and K’NEX® in HQ. Older campers also
will have their own time to hang out in
the Upper School student lounge.
Activities: Campers will have the
opportunity to swim in the indoor
pool nearly every day. Other activities vary each day, including: cooking,

Registration and Payment
Registration for all camps is available on Woodward’s website
at www.woodward.edu/camps.
Woodward is pleased to offer a payment
plan option for summer camps. During
the registration process, families will
have the option to pay all fees in full
or in equal monthly payments by credit
card charged on scheduled payment
dates. For the payment schedule, visit
www.woodward.edu/camps.
Registration must be paid in full before
your child starts camp. Because of the
need to adequately plan for staff and
supplies for summer camps, no refunds
for changes or cancellations will be
given after May 27, 2016. Changes will
be allowed after May 27th, 2016 for an
additional $25 fee.
Woodward Academy Summer Program Policies
A completed and paid registration for
summer programs signifies that the
parent and child understand and agree
to abide by the following rules.
Because Woodward Academy strives
to make the campus a safe and secure
place for your child:
• Woodward Academy requires that
EVERY student, regardless of age,
be supervised when on campus in
the summer.
• Students must be picked up
promptly at the scheduled time.
• Refunds for changes or cancellations
in the 2016 program will not be given
after May 27, 2016. Changes will be
allowed after May 27th, 2016 for an
additional $25 fee.
14
WOODWARD AC ADEMY
• Fighting, making threats, bullying,
or other disruptive behavior that
is distracting to participants in
summer camps or classes can result
in suspension or dismissal without
a refund.
• The use or possession of alcohol,
drugs, knives, firearms, or objects
considered to be a weapon of any
sort on campus is a violation of
school policy and will result in immediate dismissal without a refund.
• Tobacco use is strictly prohibited on
campus grounds and can lead to a
student’s suspension and dismissal
without a refund.
• The dress code is informal, but
students must use good judgment
in their choice of clothing and must
dress in an appropriate manner.
Footwear must be worn at all times,
and while shorts, jeans, and T-shirts
may be worn, no clothing may display
or suggest sex, alcohol, drugs, or any

forbids stealing, cheating, or lying.
Students who are in violation of this
policy are subject to suspension or
dismissal without a refund, depending on the specifics of the situation.
