The lounge/meeting room is a relaxing place for guests to hang out and discuss the days exciting events before turning in. The 'Bunkhouse' building is nestled into a nook in the coastal rainforest, a few yards back from the beach. Fresh linens, towels and clean rooms welcome each one of our guests. The Bunkhouse can accommodate up to 16 guests. There is a 16x20 cabin available for extra meeting space and is available upon request. Chairs and tables are also available to help facilitate meetings or gatherings while at the lodge. Lodge Boats and Fishing Adventures Ravencroft Fishing Lodge offers two distinctly different types of fishing packages. You can either come to the Lodge on a Guided Package, or you may choose to do a Self-Guided Fishing Package. Choosing the right package for you and your group depends upon several factors, including your experience and comfort level, as well as experience with operating boats and/or kayaks in a coastal marine environment. Guided fishing packages are designed for the person who wishes to relax and leave everything to us. A knowledgeable USCG guide is assigned for every four to six fishermen. He will pilot your fishing boat each day, taking care of tackle, bait/lures and maintaining a clean vessel for your group. He will also clean, package and freeze your catch at the end of each day. Guided fishing is done from our 30' StormCat Catamaran. Larger guided groups are split unto multiple boats to accommodate for more room for each fisherman. Our Self-Guided fishing packages are less expensive than our Guided packages, and designed for people with some fishing experience, or who simply feel they would prefer to 'be their own guide, on their own schedule', while at the lodge. The lodge provides an informative training/orientation which covers the operation of the particular fishing boat to be used, as well as all peripheral gear, safety equipment & radios, and safety procedures. Also included are discussions of the area's geography, weather, fishing hotspots, fishing methods, which can be as detailed as you request. Since the lodge is located in protected water in Prince William Sound, guests will be pleasantly surprised at the relative calm waters that surround the lodge. There are no swells to contend with and guests usually refer to Port Fidalgo as, "the lake". Most days the waters are flat and extremely enjoyable to fish on! On our worst weather days you can expect 2-3 footers, making this package a self-guided fisherman’s dream and coming back year after year. More fishing pictures on our website; including Halibut, King, Sliver, Chum and Pink Salmon, Rockfish, Ling and Pacific Cod, Sea-run Trout and many more! Beachcombing and Campfires Guests can walk the beaches in front of the Lodge to discover a hidden world of plant and animal life. The tidal swings can have a 18' difference at times, making it easy for one to find little gems like Alaskan sand dollars and starfish. This is a favorite among families and children. Ecological tours at low tide with our resident biologist can be requested at the lodge! This is an informative and wonderful way to see the hidden world that lies between the tidal lands and ocean gateway of the Alaskan marine wilderness. Campfires can be built for your pleasure during the day or each night on the footsteps of the lodge beach. Let your creative juices flow while relaxing around the campfire, during a brainstorming session. As many wonderful stories and discussions have taken place here. Eco-Tour Adventures Hiking Kayaking Paddle Boarding Sightseeing Tours Bear viewing Whale watching Heli-Glacier Tours For those adventurous souls that want a life changing experience. This is one to add to the "bucket list" of things to do before leaving Alaska. This ever changing landscape of snow and ice is something that you can't fully grasp at water level. Vertical Solutions skilled pilots will fly you around this icy-blue mammoth to gain a birds eye perspective of just how big these glaciers truly are. VS Helicopters works in tandem with giving our guests an amazing hour long adventure, landing directly at the lodge to pick up groups. They’ll first give a detailed safety orientation before whisking you off to see the nearby mighty Columbia Glacier, where you’ll see Mountain Goats along ridge lines and various marine life that inhabit the cool glacial waters. Team Building Cooking Workshop Facilitate corporate team building Iron Chef style with Mac and the Big Cheese. Two comedian chefs will focus on collaboration, communication, competition and problem solving one plate at a time. Build team work with your employees through humor and fun. Teams will prepare dishes from scratch with a few handpicked and unusual ingredients. They will need to work together to create a unique recipe. Each team will focus on originality, taste, plating, serving, and most importantly presentation of the dish to participants using the creativity of their team. Groups will be rewarded with a sampling of the culinary creations and comedy by two professional stand-up comedians at the end of the exercise. Exercise Breakdown: Employees will break up into teams Each team will be given a cooking station with 4 main ingredients and access to sauces, spices and other products to choose from Teams will come up with a name for their group, divide tasks among members and complete the recipe Each team will assign one person to present their recipe and process to the entire group Teams will be judged on the following: Originality Taste Plating Creativity Presentation While enjoying the culinary creations, each team will discuss the group process, what each individual brought to the group, what worked and what could be improved. Sea-Lion Rookery/Bird Watching Cave Tours Day trips to Glacier Island can be arranged from the lodge. The year round, Steller Sea-lion rookery located on this rocky island is only 45 minutes from the lodge and guests can spot for whales as we traverse the rich waters of Prince William Sound. This large colony of sea-lions is also home to other wildlife that includes Bald Eagles, located along treetops and shorelines. As well as Tufted and Horned Puffins, found along rocky outcroppings and caves. Among the estimated 200,000 seabirds that summer in the Sound, others include Marbled Murrelets, Blacklegged Kittiwakes, and Glaucous-winged Gulls.
