Letter from the Editor
Hello, Crocheters!
Crochet dishcloth patterns are always fantastic to work up: they’re quick to make, they don’t take up
much yarn, and they’re forever useful. You don’t even have to buy yarn for them, you can use up your
cotton yarn scraps! Crochet dishcloths are always useful in both your kitchen and your bathroom, from
scrubbing dishes and pots to washing your face. Because they’re something you make yourself, you can
easily customize them to match your personal color preferences and room décor and theme. Aside from
helping you keep your house clean and yarn stash under control, crochet dishcloths are the perfect
place to try out a new crochet stitch or pattern. Since they’re small, essentially big project swatches, you
can try out something new, and if all else fails, just scrub some pots with them!
These 10 hand-picked crochet patterns feature great DIY kitchen ideas, from crochet scrubbies made
with specifically rough and course yarn to patterns worked up with little nubs and clusters. Whatever
type of crochet dishcloth you’re after, from a simple solid-colored project made entirely from Red
Heart’s Scrubby yarn to a crochet scrubbie resembling a simple flower, you’ll find your pattern here. Be
sure to choose cotton yarn for durability and ease of care, since you’ll be able to keep them clean by just
tossing them in the wash. And, if this collection of dishcloth patterns isn’t enough for you, be sure to
browse our entire collection of crochet dishcloth patterns and kitchen and dining DIY ideas.

Scrubby Full of Sunshine
By: Laurel Blow from Bread & With It
If you're tired of your typical dishcloths falling apart, then you should think about trying the Scrubby Full

Pattern:
Crochet a chain of 13 (you can adjust this now if you’d like. Place your hand down on the crochet chain
and make sure it is wide enough to go around all your fingers as they will be inside the pocket you will
make later.
Single crochet for a total 13–15 rows tall. Again, make any adjustments now. This piece will be the top
of the scrubber. It will be on top of your fingers.
On the next row, single crochet in the first loop. Then Chain stitch 5 loops.
Single crochet in the same loop or hole you just did the chain in.
Continue with a couple of single crochets, then repeat with the chain 5 process.
Keep repeating until you are at the end of the row.
On the next row you will want to push those 5 chains to one side (they all go to the same side).
Follow the same pattern– single crochet in a couple spots, then chain 5 (pushing the previous row loop
out of the way) and then single crochet just past the loop.
When you have completed the same amount of rows and the single crochet section, you will want to do
one or two rows single crochet to finish.
Fold in half with the loops to the outside and crochet down the sides connecting the front to the back.
