The Band
La Gusana Ciega is a Mexican alternative rock band based in Mexico
City, considered one of the most influential acts in the national scene.
Formed in the early 90’s by Daniel Gutierrez (vocals / rhythm guitar) and
German Arroyo (drums). Since 2005, the current lineup adds Lu Martinez
in the bass guitar.
During their 20-year career they have released 7 studio albums, 2
live albums and 2 greatest hits compilations. Their most recent
album, Monarca, was nominated on the Latin Grammys 2015 for
Best Rock Album.
They were the opening act for bands such as Oasis (for their 1997 Be
Here Tour) and The Cardigans; and had shared the stage in festivals such
as SXSW, Vive Latino, Rock al Parque and Cumbre Tajin with some of the
most influential Latin American bands such as Cafe Tacvba, Zoe,
Enjambre, Molotov and Natalia Lafourcade, to name a few.
La Gusana Ciega remains as one of the most prolific Mexican rock bands
and they have earned their place in Mexico’s Rock history.
