So called „Roughness Index“ (RI) is a
relative number which enables the user
to compare the tread patterns. The higher
is the value of the index the rougher is
the pattern no matter the size of the tyre.
This scale corresponds to the right usage
of each pattern for each type of terrain
starting from a smooth asphalt road up to
broken heavy stony or muddy terrain. Even
though the complete characteristics must
be more detailed yet this system gives a
fast, simple and effective orientation in the
pattern assortment.
Der sgn. Index der Rauhigkeit (RI) ist
eine relative Zahl, die dem Benutzer
es ermöglicht, die einzelnen Profile
zu vergleichen. Je höher ist der
Indexlistenwert desto grober ist der
Profil ohne Rücksicht auf die Nenngrösse
des Reifens. Dieser Skala entspricht die
Nutztauglichkeit des Reifens für einzelnen
Terraintypus von glatter Asphaltstrasse
bis zum schweren, steinigen oder
schlammigen Terrain. Obwhol vollständige
Charakteristik viel ausführlicher werden
sollte, trotzdem gibt dieser System
eine schnelle, einfache und wirksame
Orientierung in dem Profilsortiment.
Tzv. index hrubosti (Roughness Index-RI)
je relativní číslo, které umožní uživateli
vzájemné porovnání dezénů. Čím je
hodnota indexu vyšší, tím je dezén hrubší
bez ohledu na velikost pláště. Této škále
odpovídá vhodnost použití pro jednotlivé
typy terénu od hladké asfaltové silnice až
po nejtěžší kamenitý nebo bahnitý povrch.
Třebaže úplná charakteristika musí být
podrobnější, přesto tento systém poskytne
rychlou, jednoduchou a účinnou orientaci
v sortimentu dezénů.

SILICA
Silica is a silicone monoxid-based
filling of rubber compounds which
replaces carbon black. Compounds
containing silica show lower
instructional friction which lowers
the total tyre drag. At the same time
this compound secures optimum
driving characteristics even at lower
temperatures (stable hardness,
elasticity, adhesion).

Kieselsäure ist eine Füllung
der Gummimischungen auf
Siliziumdioxidbasis, die Russ ersetzt.
Mischungen mit Kieselsäureinhalt
haben niedrigere innere Reibung
und dadurch wird der ganze
Reifenrollwiderstand reduziert.
Gleichzeitig werden optimale
Fahreigenschaften auch bei
niedrigeren Temperaturen
gewährleistet (stabile Härte,
Elastizität, Haftung).
Silika je plnivo do gumárenských
směsí na bázi oxidu křemičitého,
které nahrazuje saze.
Směsi s obsahem siliky mají menší
vnitřní tření, tím se snižuje celkový
valivý odpor pneumatiky, a zároveň
zaručují optimální jízdní vlastnosti
i při nižších teplotách (stabilní
tvrdost, elasticita, adheze).

PUNCTURE ENEMY (PE)
The tyre is being double protected
– by a rubber buffer (APS) bellow
the tread pattern and by a specially
treated textile (CE) which is placed
in the whole tyre profile area. Thanks
to the double protection is the tread
protected in a maximum possible
way from puncture and the specially
treated textile protects the tyre in
the sidewall area also from puncture.
Tyres with this special protection
are designed for very heavy terrain
and service conditions where long
durability, safety and reliability are
required.
Der Reifen wird zweifach geschützt
– durch den Gummipuffer (APS),
der sich unter der Lauffläche des
Reifens befinden, und durch speziell
behandelte Textilie (CE), die den
ganzen Reifenprofil schützt. Dank
dieser zweifacher Protektion ist
die Reifenlauffläche auf maximum
mögliche Weise gegen Durchschlag
geschützt und die speziell behandelte
Textilie schützt auch die Seitenwand
des Reifens gegen Durchschlag.
Reifen mit diesem speziellen Schutz
sind für schweres Gelände und
für Betriebsbedingungen, in den
Sicherheit, Zuverlässigkeit und lange
Gebrauchsdauer gefragt werden,
bestimmt.

Jedná se o duální ochranu pláště
složenou z pryžového nárazníku
(APS) umístěného pod korunou
běhounu a speciální impregnované
tkaniny (CE), která je umístěna
v oblasti celého profilu pláště. Díky
duální ochraně je koruna pláště
maximálně možným způsobem
chráněna proti průrazu a použitá
speciální tkanina pak zabraňuje
bočnímu průrazu. Pláště s touto
ochranou jsou určeny pro velmi
těžké terény a provozní podmínky,
v nichž vykazují dlouhodobou spolehlivost, bezpečnost a životnost.

Its’ design and position increase the
overall stiffness of the tyre casing and
significantly protect the tyre against a

The structure has been designed
for heavy duty conditions requiring
safety and reliability.

Fahrradreifens angeordnet ist. Dank
seiner Eigenschaften und Anordnung
erhöht es die Festigkeit der Karkasse
und schützt den Fahrradreifen

A band of a special textile (PA 6.6)
produced from a special cross-textile
placed between the tread and
the carcass decreases the possibility
of having a puncture (high strength
and density). It increases the rigidity
and strength of the tyre crown,
and decreases the tyre drag while
maintaining the adhesive force.
This antipuncture system does
not significantly increase the weight
of the tyre.
Ein zusätzlicher Gürtel aus speziellem
Kreuzgewebe (PA 6.6) befindet sich
zwischen der Karkasse und der
Lauffläche und sorgt für bessere
Pannensicherheit. Dieser Gürtel
ergibt eine höhere Steifheit und
Festigkeit an der Reifenkrone. Dies
vermindert den Rollwiderstand, aber
das Profil der Aufstandsfläche bleibt
offen, wodurch eine gute Haftung

TOP ANTIPUNCTURE SYSTEM (TAS)
Reinforcement of the tube in the
tread area makes the tube more
resistant to pinch and puncture.
The reinforcement offers higher
resistance to the penetrating object.
The tube is partly pushed into
the inside area of the tyre and this
prevents the tube from penetration
or causes only a partial penetration.
It is an ideal solution for bicycle
touring.
Verstärkung der Schlauchwand
in dem Reifenlaufflächebereich
steigert die Durchschlag- und
Durchstichwiderstandsfähigkeit.
Die Verstärkung leistet grösseren
Widerstand dem penetrierenden
Gegenstand. Die Schlauchwand wird
teilweise in den Innenbereich des
Reifens abgedrückt und lässt keine
oder nur eine Teildurchdringung
zu. Es ist eine ideale Lösung für die
Fahrradturistik.
Zesílení stěny duše v oblasti koruny
zvyšuje odolnost proti průpichu
a průrazu. Zesílení klade větší
odpor pronikajícímu objektu. Tím
se částečně odtlačuje stěna duše od
vnitřku pláště a nedovolí žádný nebo
pouze částečný průnik. Ideální řešení
pro cykloturistiku.
ANTISNAKE BITE SYSTEM (ABS)
Reinforcement of the tube in
the area of the rim arm markedly
lowers the possibility of the puncture
„snake bike“. When running against
a hindrance and during deformation
of the tyre profile the tube walls
strike against each other. The
reinforced part of the tube is softer
with higher flexibility and camber
radius. This highers the tube wall
interface, lowers the specific pressure
and the puncture strength, which
is dangerous for the inferior part
of the tube profile, is subsequently
lowered. This effect can be reached
by null weight increase. This tube
construction finds its use in extreme
terrain conditions DH, FR, 4X and
XC.
Verstärkung der Schlauchwand
in dem Bereich des Felgenarmes
verringert erheblich die „snake
bite“ Defektmöglichkeit. Sobald
man ein Hindernis anfährt und
das Reifenprofil sich verzieht,
prallen die Schlauchwände
aufeinander. Der verstärkte Teil
ist weicher, hat höhere Elastizität
und grösseren Wölbungsradius. So
wird die Schlauchberührungsfläche
vergrössert, der spezifische Druck
vermindert und dadurch auch die
Durchschlagskraft, die dem dünneren
Schlauchprofilbereich gefährlich
werden kann. Diesen Effekt erzielt
man, ohne das Schlauchgewicht
beträchtlich erhöhen zu müssen.
Diese Konstruktion findet ihr Nutzen
in extremen Terrainbedingungen DH,
FR, 4X und XC.
Zesílení stěny duše v oblasti vrcholu
ráfkového raménka výrazně snižuje
možnost defektu typu „snake bite“.
Při najetí na překážku a deformaci
profilu pláště na sebe narazí stěny
duše. Zesílená část je měkčí, má vyšší
pružnost a větší rádius zakřivení.
Tak je zvětšena styčná plocha stěn
duše, snížen měrný tlak a následně
průrazová síla, nebezpečná pro slabší
část profilu duše. Efektu je dosaženo
při nevýrazném zvýšení hmotnosti.
Tato konstrukce najde uplatnění
v extrémních terénních podmínkách
DH, FR, 4X a XC.

Ráfek typu „C“ musí být použít, je-li hodnota max. husticího tlaku vyšší než 500 kPa.

A tyre with a section width of 37 mm and nominal rim diameter 622 mm is marked as 37 - 622.

Main (priority) nominal size marking is metrical, as additional marking you can find the marking according to the former national standards – systems (usually placed
in parenthesis).
