Recreational
Recommendations are a rough guide only. The suitability of a kite for a particular individual activity will depend on a combination of factors - age and weight / size, skill level and wind conditions. Please contact Flexifoil or your local Flexifoil Dealer for more comprehensive advice.
Recreational kiting Recreational kiting
is for everyone and everyone should
try it. The new Buzz and Sting and the
legendary power kites are for people
who just want to have fun flying kites.
The Buzz and the Stacker are easy to
fly in most wind conditions and if you
want a bit more power, the Sting and
Proteam 8 can pull well in a good wind.
The Super 10 pulls hard and is for adults
who want a good workout!
Traction kiting Land traction kiting is
all about using the power of the kite to
fuel your chosen kite activity. Buggying
is one of the original traction sports
and is great on hard packed beaches or
flat grass. To get started, use a Flexifoil
buggy and Bullet. As your skills improve,
you can move up to the powerful
Blade or the de-powerable Sabre. Kite
landboarding is a fast growing sport
which brings together elements of
skate, downhill boarding and kiting. It’s
everything from chilled out cruising to
big airs and tricks. Depending on your
level, use the Bullet, Blade or Sabre with
the Flexdeck or Airdeck.
Snow kiting Snow kiting is the latest
evolution of Power Kiting and brings
skiers, snowboarders and kiters
together. With a fast learning curve,
this new sport dramatically expands
the possibilities of winter sports. You
can jump higher and further than
you thought possible and still land
smoothly. You can also access great
snow conditions and even virgin powder
without the need for a lift pass! The
Bullet is a great kite to learn on due
to its ease of use and solid flight
characteristics before you progress on
to the ultimate snow kiting experience
with the de-powerable Sabre.

Fly safe Flexifoil kites are high performance products capable of generating a
tremendous amount of power. This massively exhilarating experience is the reason
why people become addicted to power kiting.
Always fly with the safety of yourself and others in mind. We recommend that you:
Always read the product instructions
and abide by the safety warnings
⁄
Learn to fly your kite in light winds
until you are competent
⁄
Seek expert advice from an
authorised Flexifoil Dealer or from
Flexifoil International or take lessons
from a fully qualified instructor
BEFORE undertaking any power or
traction kite activities
⁄
You should only attempt advanced
Power Kiting activities such as
skidding, body surfing, jumping,

buggying, kiteboarding, kite
landboarding and snow kiting when
you have become an experienced
and competent kite flyer
⁄
Always use the appropriate safety
equipment for each activity e.g.
helmet, gloves, knee pads, elbow
pads and buoyancy aids
⁄
Children under the age of 12 are
capable of flying Power kites but
must be supervised by an adult.
Adults are advised to ensure that
children in their care are flying safely
and in control of their kite at all times
Flexifoil kites must not be used for
paragliding or parascending
⁄
Remember, you are responsible for
the safe operation of your kite and
equipment at all times
⁄
Kiting can be an extreme activity and
in taking part, you do so at your own
risk
Over the last four years we have
worked exclusively with a fabric
software specialist to develop design
programs that are expertly tailored
to high performance kite design. We
have continued our long running
relationship with Cambridge University
to improve the understanding of kite
aerodynamics. We use the wind
tunnels to accurately measure the
performance of all areas of a kite,
from new profiles to complete kites.
This gives us vital information that
is fed back into the next generation
of prototypes.
⁄
As well as outright performance we
also understand the importance of
the usability of a product. We work
closely with a wide range of kiters
from beginners in kite schools, to pro
riders. The information we receive

from this diverse group of kiters is vital

accessible to those who fly them.

At Flexifoil we know that people fly
kites in all conditions so we test our
products world wide, in all extremes

have tested them in the freezing cold
in Antarctica to the heat of an

Buzz Flexifoil’s new two-line soft foil kite is a huge amount of fun to fly. It is a perfect
entry level kite for anyone and everyone who wants to try kiting. It has been designed
with the same care as our more advanced kites and so it flies very well in both light
and strong winds with excellent stability, even at the edges of the wind window.
The Buzz is incredibly
simple to set up and fly. It’s
very portable and packs
away into a compact stuff
bag with a wide opening
for easy access. Even if you
are an experienced kiter,
it’s always worth having
one in your bag for yourself
or your friends and family.

Sting The new Flexifoil Sting is a 4-line soft foil for beginners who want a bit more of a
challenge and for experts who want some fun. The same amount of attention to detail
has been paid to the aerodynamic performance and high quality materials used in its
construction as has been paid to our top of the range kites.
The Sting has very
manageable power
for the first time flyer.
You’ll love the Sting
because of its pure fun
factor, once you pick it
up, you won’t want to
put it down.
The Sting has four lines
which give the flyer has
the added dimension of
the brake lines which can
be used to exert maximum
control over the kite. The
Sting can achieve advanced
manoeuvres such as reverse launch, spinning the
kite on its axis, regulating
the turn rate, positioning
and holding the kite anywhere in the window. This
kite is great for the more
adventurous beginner or
the flyer who is ultimately
interested in moving on to
traction kiting. Flyers can
develop their skills on the
Sting before moving on to
the Bullet or Blade.

Powerkites Flexifoil’s original power kite range is the ideal way to get into power kiting. The
original and still the best, the Stacker 6 was the kite design that started the sport of power
kiting. These kites do not have a bridle which makes them easy to assemble and quick to
learn. This should be your first choice if you just want to get out there, have fun and fly.
With a power kite you can try out loads of adrenaline-filled activities like skidding along the
beach, getting big air, body surfing and more. With three sizes to choose from the range
offers something for everyone.

Before the Sabre was
launched, Flexifoil decided
to put it to the ultimate
test. At the end 2004, it
helped a team of four
explorers to become the
fastest ever to cross the
continent of Antarctica
– the Invesco Perpetual
Challenge.
The team used the Sabres
to kite-ski back from
the South Pole. The first
production models were put
to the test in some of the
most extreme conditions
on earth. The Katabatic
winds that pour down
the glacial slopes can be
unpredictable and often
blow at 80 mph which,

along with the varied terrain
and the heavy equipment
they were pulling on their
sleds, made the kiting part
of the expedition more
challenging. Despite all
this, the Sabre performed
exceptionally well and the
team were more than happy
with the durability and flight
characteristics of the kite.
Sabre bar The Sabre comes equipped
with a carbon control bar that has a
spinning leash safety system for hooked
in riding. The kite landing line is easy to
use and highly effective, de-powering the

Kite landboards Our Kite Landboards are the first of their kind to be designed specifically
for kiting, in association with traction specialists G2A. The boards have a unique,
asymmetric shape that positions the rider off-centre to balance the sideways pull of the
kite. This means you can take the power of the kite, drive it through the board and use it to
deliver better upwind performance than conventional boards, giving you the confidence to
push your riding to the limit. The pre-loaded camber (the curve of the deck) gives better
board control and helps to prevent the board from bottoming out. These boards are built
to last using proven materials which are both strong and durable.
Airdeck Short, compact
and lighter than the
Flexdeck, the Airdeck
maximises your freestyle
potential. Nail tricks like
spins and flips and use the
grab strips for “board off”
tricks. This deck is ideal
for skilled intermediates
and advanced adrenaline
fuelled air junkies.

Flexdeck The Flexdeck
is the board of choice
for those who want
an all-round riding
experience. This deck
is the best choice for
powered-up beginners and
intermediates and inspires
confidence through its
smooth and balanced ride.
The mid-range length gives
excellent performance for
carving, jumping, running
and riding.

Flexifoil flying lines The right choice of
flying line is essential if you want to get the
maximum performance from your kite.
Flexifoil Flying Lines are made from hi-grade Dyneema®
using the most sophisticated extreme pre-stretching
process to give you the best performance and lowest stretch.
This will give you a positive and direct feel when flying your
kite, which will in turn give you the confidence to develop
your flying skills. In addition, a highly UV-resistant coating
helps to prolong the life of your lines and reduce friction
when twists occur.
Flexifoil flying lines are designed to be as light and as strong
as possible, allowing you to fly in both light and strong winds
with minimal aerodynamic drag. Each Flexifoil line set is
colour coded for safety and easy left/right identification and
is available in a variety of lengths and strengths to suit your
flying style. Always refer to your product literature for line
length and strength recommendations.

Four-line handles Flying a four line kite
with handles is the best way to perfect
your flying skills as you can exert almost
complete control over the flying patterns
of your kite.
The handles come complete with a safety system that is
very easy to operate and kills the power from the kite in
an instant. It also provides a safe way of landing your kite
in strong winds. Whether you are into free flying in the
park with your mates or launching yourself into the air
strapped into a buggy, then these handles are for you.

Bullet bar The Bullet bar is an alternative to
four line handles and provides a simple and
safe method of controlling your 4-line kite.
Blade bar So, you’re boosting fat airs on
your landboard? Then you need dependable
kit that can take that sort of action.
Choosing a bar or handles is down to personal preference
but if you are a landboarder, a bar makes tricking and
one-handed riding easy. The bar also has a quick release
safety system which instantly kills the power of the kite
when you let go of the bar.
The Blade bar is more than up to the job as it is made
from super strong carbon which means you can fly with
confidence when you’re fully powered up. The bar also
has a quick release safety system which instantly kills
the power of the kite when you let go of the bar.
