Official Annual Meeting Notice Dear Member: This is your official notice for the 2015 Heartland REMC Annual Meeting. In accordance with the By-Laws of your Heartland Rural Electric Membership Corporation, it is my pleasure and duty to notify you of the Annual Meeting to be held at Hiers Park in Huntington, IN, Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. A lunch buffet will be served from 10:30–1:00 p.m. Registration will be immediately upon arrival. This meeting is for the purpose of conducting the business of your electric cooperative. Six directors will be elected, and the 2014 report of the cooperative will be given. In connection with the election of six (6) directors scheduled for this meeting, to serve for a three-year period, the following members have submitted their names to be placed in the election ballot and have met all qualifications pursuant to the By-Laws. Sincerely, Steven A. Byerly, Secretary/Treasurer Heartland REMC Board of Directors Steven A. Williams has worked as the service manager at W.A. Zimmer Co. in Huntington for the past 10 years. He is the former owner of Williams & Sons construction, Huntington. A graduate of Huntington North High School, he holds a bachelor’s degree in organization management from Huntington University. He is president of Huntington County HELP Inc. and serves on the Andrews-Dallas Township Library Board. He is also a past board member of LOVE Inc. of Huntington County, and is a past president of both Huntington Metro Kiwanis and Huntington ALERT Inc. He likewise has served as elder, board member, and youth director at Central Christian Church. He and his wife, Linda, have a married son and a married daughter, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Gary Fausz has owned and operated G&R Sales and Service, an outdoor power equipment dealership near Zanesville for the past 35 years. He is a graduate of Norwell High School and holds an associate’s degree in agricultural equipment technology from Clark County Technical Institute. He is a member of the Markle Chamber of Commerce, the National Federation of Independent Businesses, and U.S. Chamber of Commerce. He has served as president of United REMC Service Corp., completed the Credentialed Cooperative Director and Board Leadership programs. He also serves as a trustee for the Markle United Methodist Church. He and his wife Roma have one daughter. Dustin A. Cuttriss has served as the chief financial officer for Beacon Credit Union since October, 2011. Prior to that, he worked in public accounting for BKD, LLP, for several years in both Fort Wayne and Denver, CO. He graduated from Huntington North High School, and holds a business administration degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. He is on the board of Financial Managers Society, and also on the board of Pilgrims Rest Cemetery of Huntington Inc. He is a member of the Indiana CPA Society and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). He and his wife Jessica have two sons and two daughters. Leon Hurlburt is serving as assistant fire chief with the city of Huntington. He has been on the department 22 years. He graduated from Merrillville High School and holds a bachelors degree in business from Ball State University. He served on the Huntington North Improvement Committee and is a board member for the Free Clinic. He has served as Huntington County coroner, Huntington County commissioner, 4-H Fair Board; and served on the boards for Youth Services Bureau, United Way, Help Inc. for Disabled Citizens, and Huntington County Federal Credit Union. Mat Quickery is a vice president with Bippus State Bank, and has been in the banking business for 12 years, eight of those with Bippus State. He currently works in the Roanoke Office in lending. A graduate of Huntington North, he has a degree in business administration from the University of St. Francis. He is currently on the Parkview Huntington Hospital Foundation Board, and is a member of the Roanoke Lions Club, Roanoke Chamber of Commerce, United Way, Roanoke Kiwanis, and Flint Springs Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation.
