Le Rosey Summer Camps 2014
Live your em
Le Rosey is one of the finest and most attractive schools in Europe. Since 1880, it has taken pride in offering
well-rounded and demanding educational curricula to pupils from all over the world.
Many Roseans were given a first taste of their school during one of our camps; a place where they find
a well-balanced lifestyle and where individuals can be themselves whilst being part of an international community.
These principles are fundamental to the Rosey spirit.
Le Rosey proposes a variety of active and enriching programs for participants throughout the summer months.
All our high-standard programs aim to build a harmonious, disciplined and integrated community within exceptional
surroundings.
Our promise
• To enrich your child’s summer with a unique life experience.
• To offer professionally organized and varied camps.
• To develop your child’s talents through academic courses, sports, artistic activities and
outdoor excursions.
• To encourage friendship across cultures and languages from around the world.
• To teach young people how to take the first steps away from home towards becoming
more responsible and independent.
• To discover Switzerland’s natural beauty and culture.
Our priority is your child’s safety and well-being
• The camps’ directors and managers are employed as full-time teachers at Le Rosey and are
actively involved in the community life and safety procedures of our boarding school.
• All language instruction is given by mother-tongue speakers and teaching methods are
carefully adapted to “summer” learning. Sports and arts teachers are selected for their skills,
maturity, calm authority and ethical principles. They are often young and keen to share their
passion with the camp students.
• Meals are prepared by our professional chefs who are experienced in their attention to the
quality, presentation, flavor and balance of daily menus. The focus is on French cuisine but
with an international accent; we also pay particular attention to special dietary requirements.
• Nursing and medical staff are always on hand to deal with any medical problems. A team of
qualified doctors is available only a few minutes away from the campus and excellent hospitals
are within easy reach.
• Switzerland is a safe country and our campuses offer a healthy environment.
• Le Rosey accepts participants from all over the world. A quota system per nation, or group
of nations, ensures that the school maintains a truly international flavor. English and French
are the two official languages of the camp, both of instruction and as a means of everyday
communication on campus.
• Participants arriving at Geneva Airport will be met by our staff and accompanied to Rolle or
Gstaad. At the end of the camp, a school transport service ensures that they are accompanied
back to Geneva Airport in time for their return flights.
LAkE GEnEvA CAMPUS
In Rolle, halfway between Geneva and Lausanne, Le Rosey’s campus covers an area of 30 hectares,
looking down to Lake Geneva and backed by the Jura mountains.
The campus was established in 1880 in the “Château du Rosey”, with its extensive estate.
The historic original building, dating back to the 14th century, was then a run-down medieval castle,
but it was carefully renovated and the campus improved during the 20th century. Today, our Rolle
campus boasts some 15 different buildings hosting a complete range of academic,
sports and arts activities, and offering boarding accommodation for some 400
students, teachers and staff.
The latest visionary addition to our Rolle campus is the futuristic Paul & Henri Carnal Hall.

LAKE GENEVA CAMPUS
In line with its visionary tradition, Le Rosey is about to launch the latest addition to its Rolle campus:
The Paul & Henri Carnal Hall. This futuristic structure designed by world-acclaimed Swiss-American
architect Bernard Tschumi will provide our students with state-of-the-art facilities comprising:
a 900-seat concert hall, a multipurpose modular exhibition hall, smaller rooms dedicated to specific
arts and crafts and a library surrounded by a learning center.
The building will be officially inaugurated and become fully operational in late June 2014. This means
that our 2014 Summer Camp participants will be pioneers, the very first ever to have the chance
Learning Center, cooking lab, visual arts and photography rooms,
dance and music studios – all within a building that also functions as an open space for
to use its
meetings, sharing and creativity.
GSTAAD CAMPUS
Since 1916 the whole school has moved up to the mountains during the winter season to
offer its students a term of sun, snow and winter sports whilst continuing their regular school
program.
The 7,600m2 Ried campus in Gstaad, a famous mountain resort nestled in the Swiss Alps
and nowadays home to world-famous celebrities, is complemented by a second 4600m2
campus in the neighboring village of Schönried. Le Rosey’s winter home with its
Swiss chalets also accommodates Summer Camp participants
most beautiful settings in Switzerland.
