A fellowship was held on 15 October 2015
in the Student Lounge to mark the first
anniversary of the formation of this junior
Legion of Mary group which was formed on
8 October 2014.

Reflections, team-building exercises, prayers
and talks were part of this camp. Through
this camp, it is hoped that the students can
know themselves and each other better.
Form One Annual Camp,
SJPS Building
16 – 18 November 2015
This camp was animated by the Empowered Ministry of St
Joseph’s Cathedral. There were energizer and reflection
sessions. Talks given were “Who is God?” “You are
Precious,” “Boy-Girl Relationship,” “Parent-Child
Relationship,” “Forgiveness,” and “Make a Difference.”
Form Two Field Trip to
Semenggoh Wildlife Centre, Jong Crocodile Farm and Panchor Hot Spring
13 November 2015
Form Two students went on their field trip
this year to Semenggoh Wildlife Centre. It is
a sanctuary for injured and orphaned
orangutans. They managed to see three
orangutans even though it was the fruit
season.
Next they visited Jong Crocodile Farm
which is 29km from Kuching city along the
Kuching-Serian road. This unique farm has
over a thousand crocodiles bred in captivity.
It is the first and largest captive breeding
crocodile farm in Malaysia. Students
enjoyed watching the feeding time of the
crocodiles at 11.00am.
They also visited Panchor Hot Spring which
is located at Kampung Panchor Dayak. A hot
spring is a water source from the earth’s
crust that is heated geothermally. The
heated water contained minerals that have
medical value and could cure various kinds
of ailment like skin diseases.
The day began with zumba aerobic exercise for all
students from 7.30 – 8.30 am.

There were various education talks on
studying Bachelor of Science and Arts,
Arts and Design, Accountancy, Medicine,
Fine Arts, Architecture, Engineering.
Exhibitions on the police force, fire-fighting and health
departments were also held.
Dance workshop were carried out for Form One and
Two students at the top floor. This was followed by a
presentation called the Dance Battle.
Colouring competitions were held for the Primary
School students.

Parenting Teenagers Course
Photo of the participants and facilitators of the course taken during the last session on 31 October 2015.
Congratulations to the parents who participated in this five-session course. A big thank
you to all the facilitators and organisers for a successful completion of the course. Both
facilitators and participants learned a lot from this course, especially from the various
group sharings. This course ran on five consecutive Saturdays, namely 3, 10, 17, 24 and
31 October 2015.
All teachers and non-teaching staff of both the primary and secondary schools
together with members of the Board of Management, including Archbishop John Ha
were at the annual staff dinner held on 7 November 2015 at Hoi Tin Lau Restaurant.
The theme of the night was Shanghai Night. Almost everyone turned up wearing
something that has connection with 1930s Shanghai.
Food was delicious and the entertainment delightful. A live band played music from
that era.
