The work world is no longer predictable – we
are now educating students for a succession
of jobs throughout their working career
Employers are seeking employees with global
awareness, critical thinking skills, problem
solving abilities and strong communication
and interpersonal skills
Post-secondary provides opportunity, skills,
credentialing and evidence that a young
person can and is willing to learn at a high
level
8
The better that a student does in Grade 9, the
more academic options they will have in
Grade 10 and beyond
 Study habits and work ethic in Grade 9
strongly dictate the success that a student
has in high school
 The stronger the marks in Grade 9, the better
the opportunities

The stronger the marks in Grade 9, the more
academic course options are then available in
Grade 10 and beyond…

 To progress to a 20-1or 30-1 (English, Social),
Biology 20/30, Chemistry 20/30 or Physics
20/30, it is recommended that a mark of 65% be
attained in the previous grade

Starting in semester 2, MCHS is offering Grade 12
students the opportunity to earn three MacEwan
University credits in BUSN 201 with a professor, Dr.
Victor Bilodeau, who is joining our staff
These credits are transferable to any faculty in any
university in Canada (not just in Business)
The added bonus is that MCHS students are just
required to pay for their text books, not university
tuition meaning that they and their parents save $525,
plus gain university experience while still in high
school
